TBT: This is some of the news coverage of my father's death and funeral from October 2011. For those that may not know, I grew up in a media family. My dad's career began in the 1960s as a news reporter. Through much of the 1970s and 1980s, my dad was a giant in Canadian sports journalism, winning many awards, and even had job offers from Sports Illustrated, the Chicago Sun Times, and the New York Post. Through the 1990s and 2000s, my dad switched to a general interest columnist. Which gave him the flexibility to write about and cover sports if he wanted to, but also cover anything and everything news related.

What an awesome tribute to your dad, Dave. We all hope that we’ll be remembered fondly and our lives will be celebrated after we’re gone, but very few truly get that honor. Your dad is one of those people, and he earned that through his work and the relationships he built. It also looks like he passed on to you the art of expressing one’s self and entertaining others without compromising who you are at your core. Thank you for sharing this-it helps your dad’s legacy live on, and I have no doubt that he’s proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished both professionally and by connecting with people in the horror/CZcams community.
