    The 1992 Olympic champion vs the 1996 Olympic champion....epic. Linford is 35 years old in this video, running against an entire line up of sprinters in their 20's...VERY impressive!

    10.1 was before the juice. After the juice it became 9.8. Yes, that is what the juice does for sprinters.

    WHY SO SLOW?

    • @peters6119
      @peters6119 Před 4 měsíci

      It was after the world championships so they had already peaked. And back then 10.10 wasn't considered all that slow. Bailey won the World Championships that year in 9.97, the only guy under 10.00. Christie had run 10.12. So it wasn't that unusual to see them only running 10.10 and slower. Maybe it was cooler or with a slight headwind, as is often the case in late-season European meets.

      Like he was at the Atlanta Olympics? Give me a break. Donovan broke the world record in Atlanta and even if Linford wasn't disqualified, there was no way he was catching Donovan in that race.

    • @isaz597
      @isaz597 Před 11 měsíci

      @@delby66agreed, Linford was 36 and he was not going to beat a peak Bailey but to say Bailey had a better résumé at top level sprinting than Linford is delusional. Bailey was effectively at the or near the top of sprinting for a 3year period between the 1995 season to the 1997 season. In 1998 he had a poor season then ruptured his Achilles after that season. He wasn't the same after that.
