In this clip, Nicholas Irving provides some insight into his post-Army career as an author. The former special operations sniper in the 3rd Ranger Battalion for the U.S. Army explains that his latest book, "Reaper and the Board," will be published in March and that people can now pre-order their copies on Amazon.com. He said that the fictional story behind the Military thriller centers on a fictional version of himself. From there, he shares that writing helps provide him with a mental outlet before revealing that his son also wants to publish a children's book. Lastly, Shawn Prez ends the discussion with a heartfelt thank you to Nicholas for his service in the Army.

@@africanblog43 Since you are not from here, you might not know that the term "service" is for anyone who joins a military or police role. We thank them for their service because of what they have done--performed a service. In the case of this young man, he volunteered, got training and performed a service that he was told to do.
What country are you in? If you are in Nigeria, for example, I know people that have lost their spouses do to Boko Haram. They are a jihadist, terrorist group. Would you not say that the brave people who have died at the hands of a terror group as well as the people fighting have performed a service and should be thanked for their service also?

Even as we speak, there is corruption involving the country you are from and the country you are based in. What can you or I do about it? I can't do much, other than be responsible for myself.
I am thanking Mr. Irving because he, as an individual, did what he thought was right. I am nothing. My time will be over soon. It is his time.
Like I said, I understand the bigger picture. Sometimes, however, it is the little picture that is more personal, reflective, and controllable.

Speaking as a writer myself, I can personally attest to how therapeutic writing can be. When Irving says it’s somewhat of an “escape” I wholeheartedly agree to that characterization. Kudos to him and kudos to whoever in Vlad’s team discovered this guy and brought him on the platform. Great, great interview.. Both parties did extremely well. It takes a good interviewer to bring about and evoke that raw emotion that Nicholas brought to this interview, and I have watched several interviews with him, and a lot he talks about a lot of the same things... This just had a different feel SALUTE 🫡
