In 2010 we battled noasb in the stands of a hot ass gym in New Orleans approximately 20 yards from each other. To see what it’s grown into now is amazing. The culture is the real winner. Big ups to all the programs.
Both bands had great arrangements. Georgia is clean with power and that's unbeatable. New Orleans would've taken out anyone else but Georgia. Gamb is a complete musical package ensemble with very few weaknesses. Noasb has elite power in the btones and mello sections. If the other sections supported in the arrangements they’d be hard to beat. Gamb win on the field for me!
Hearing that Princess Cut in person was one of the loudest songs I’ve ever heard in-person in my life… and that’s saying something being that I’m 37 years old and grew up in pre-Katrina New Orleans and also saw/heard 90s SU bands in person

GAMB trumpets was playing correct notes, don't know how your ears operate but I feel bad for you cause I heard they trumpets just fine to the point I could tell you the exact rhythms they were playing and the notes.

New Orleans and Houston the two cities that CREATED the summer band circuit from scratch have always played a mix of college, high school, and original arrangements. Many of the arrangements NOASB played and made famous were later played at college. Gamb needs to get a consistent 2 battles and consistent 2 wins in a year before trying to change the rules. 😂

Honestly. The field battle was about even. But NOASB tore them up in the stands. I think the stands battle is probably gonna be based on preference since both bands had very little mistakes. I like anime and all, but 2 animes songs in a battle is too much for me.

These bands sound EXACTLY the same...WHY?...because they are playing music that all sounds EXACTLY the same...but when it's time to play another TYPE of song, which was done in the stands, they don't really know how to differentiate the style of play...so the old school song, or the song from anime/tv doesn't sound much different from all the rap songs they play... I'm really unsure if this summer band thing does anything significant for the culture of marching band.
I disagree with your synopsis of summer band gamb does not sound like everyone else we have a different approach as far as sound so before you go to conclusions I suggest you actually take time to listen to what’s going on in the arrangements and overall sound gamb style is more of a collegiate sound and the music definitely not the same if you listen to all our songs we have versatility crazy how people like your self gets on the internet and push a negativity……
