- The Ascension as found in the Acts of the Apostles, recounts the event of Jesus ascending to the heavenly temple. And Luke mentions that the ascension happens 40 days after Jesus' resurrection.
Why does Luke mention this and what is the significance of the number 40, especially for the Ascension of Jesus?

The number 40 seems to be of great importance-Christ fasted 40 days in the desert, Moses and the Israelites wandered 40 years in the wilderness. So 40 is a symbol for change.

Today May 18th, 2023, is the Feast of the Ascension, The Ascension of Jesus, Ascension Thursday, Holy Thursday, or Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord - this is a Christian holiday that doubles as a public holiday in many countries like Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, and more. It is 40 days from the Resurrection of Christ Jesus, and then 10 days later, will be the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came down upon the Apostles in the Upper Room.
Regarding the 40 days: The gestation period of a pregnancy is 40 weeks.

During Lent, I was thinking about purification, especially that this pandemic is happening?
I think that one needs to get closer to God by denying everything to one's self. A purification, a transformation to get back to God.

All right, the number 40 has a special meaning: transition to something greater. God has nothing done in hazard. Everything has a hidden signification. The answers to our fundamental questions have already been given through the creation. unfortunately, we are often blind in front of that.

I don't know of any source, but seven is the number for covenant. In olden days, reaching an agreement with someone was called 'sevening' (in Hebrew, of course). Twelve is the number of completeness (twelve tribes, twelve apostles, etc.). In Mark's Gospel, Jesus asks the disciples how many baskets of leftovers from the first feeding of the masses (twelve), and how many from the second (seven)? And then asked them if they still don't understand.
There's also a lot of threes in Sacred Scripture. I'm not sure what they understood of the number during Old Covenant times, but today we know its a reminder of the Trinity. Four is another frequent number, which seems to basically mean the whole world (four winds, four angels patrolling, etc.). Whether this is tied to 40 (they did like their multiples), it's hard to reconcile the likely meaning of four with what Dr. Pitre was discussing about purification, preparation and transition.
@@paulmiller3469 your comment just made something I was taught as a student nurse by old school nurses now make sense.
I was taught that when I had a patient that died and we had wrapped them up in the sheet for transfer to the hospital mortuary to always take the sheet together with 12 pieces of tape to represent 12 steps to heaven.
But they couldn’t explain it anymore than that other than it was an old nursing tradition that use to always be taught until student nurse training changed.
So you saying 12 is the number of completeness and adding that to the old school nurses ‘12 steps to heaven’ tape now makes so much sense.
@@paulmiller3469 does the number four not also represent the four aspects of the original temple in the Old Testament which dictated what could be done in each area and who was allowed to go into each area and to this day is reflected with how Catholic Churches are built

@@paulmiller3469 it might just be a regional thing in the world but the old school nurses in Scotland told me to always tape deceased patients up with 12 pieces of tape (no more no less) for the 12 steps to heaven.
I was also always taught to open a window so the soul can exit.
So these sort of fit in with my beliefs as a Catholic so was always happen to continue them seeing as they appeared to be nursing tradition which I always wondered if they originated from religion.
Finally I was also taught to find a flower from somewhere and place it in the deceased patients clasped hands before the family view the body after us washing them and before transferring to the mortuary.
I’ve only recently learnt about the original temple on the Old Testament and how today’s Catholic Churches are meant to have been built to represent the four aspects of it
Dr. Brant, what is the significant of the "cloud" which Jesus was taken up to Heaven during the Ascension? Can it refer to Exodus 13:21-22 "The LORD preceded them, in the daytime by means of a column of cloud to show them the way, and at night by means of a column of fire* to give them light. Thus they could travel both day and night. 22 Neither the column of cloud by day nor the column of fire by night ever left its place in front of the people.
I believe it is the “glory cloud” the presence of God throughout the OT. Hope this helps.

I tried to wrap my brain around the ascension to heaven for quite a while. The resurrection isn't as difficult for me to comprehend. Correct me if I'm wrong But did not the father resurrect Jesus? Some say he resurrected himself. I don't think I've every seen that in scripture. I do believe I've read in scripture that the father resurrected him.. My difficulty with wrapping my brain around the ascension is pretty much a basic question. I'm not mocking anyone and I do happen to believe the Ascension happened. So did Jesus just load up like a Helium Balloon let loose? When he continue to rise Upwards wouldn't this mean that he would continue to float upwards through space until he Gets to his destination, which is heaven? I've always thought of heaven as being some sort of parallel universe or supernatural realm Vic cannot be understood wow we're in the flesh. So for example if he can change you upwards he would go into space and continue on and on until he gets To paradise. If the scripture said Jesus disappeared before your eyes it would be much easier for me to understand. But the way this scripture lays it out he seems as if heaven is up there somewhere. When we pray or think of heaven Do we Not think of heaven is up Somewhere? Not just the Christian religion for multiple religions think of heaven and God and simultaneously think of the word up. So once again, I ask if he began to ascend to heaven, Where was he Ascending or floating towards other than space? I'm not questioning the ascension but rather trying to wrap my brain around this idea the heat a sins or floats upwards and just Continues ascending If this happens is not true wrecked to assou hes going to eventual I get to what we call space and then outer space?I know these questions so really simple and basic but where in the world was a floating or a sending to other than heaven and if that's in space does this somehow mean they have in is a planet ?I don't believe heaven is a planet but I can't understand why he needed to go up to reach Heaven. People say not to question God but I'm not questioning this is an untrue teaching. I'm questioning exactly what I mentioned above. Did not Abraham even question God and his decision to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah? Abraham practically haggled with God about how many righteous souls need there Be to save that evil area. I understand this is a question that has nothing to do with salvation so long as we believe he ascended. I just want to understand If heaven is somewhere out in space?. The mormons claim that God Lives upon a planet in space.. I'm not a mormon and I don't believe this. And I don't wanna cast doubt on anyone believing the ascension took place I'm just hoping to get some sort of understanding from a logical POV.. This is a good question and something I've been pondering for some time now. I don't think he "kept going" through the cloud and into space. He simply went in to the cloud, and from there He vanished from the material world.
Why did He go up to the cloud instead of vanishing in front of them? God only knows, but maybe He was taken up because God wanted to give the people a miracle that would strengthen their faith in the risen Christ. I also question why this miracle is only mentioned by Luke? I pray for discernment every day.

I would ask her why not Abraham did and he even a haggled over Sodom and Gommorah. The problem with all these lack of faith in God (as the only reality and everything else are His live works) is due to the modern heresy of confining God into a book or in one’s mind. If one can’t believe in Gen 1:1, he better not read the rest of the Bible simply because his mind is not reading what the authors had to say. We may say that not the same spirit was/is working on both the individuals.
Having said that, it is an irony, despite God evolved human minds in the recent decades with huge informations, many want to use the same evolved mind to limit God’s omnipotence to the understanding of 2000 years ( most blame goes to protestants) old.
As the other commentator correctly identified, the witnesses were given the ‘observation’ appropriate for the time. But it is your responsibility while using the God given scientific knowledge and evidences cause losing faith in Him and His offering of eternal life in heaven. Yes heaven is hidden, simply because only what God reveals can man observe! (Cf. Schrödinger’s cat).

Wouldn't it be a big problem for Christians today if the Bible assumes Christ literally went up into the clouds to get to heaven, instead of just disappearing from the disciples view into the heavenly dimension? Wouldn't such a depiction of the ascension show that the new testament writers are speaking mythologically? Someone please help me with this
Jesus appears to his disciples throughout 40 days after his resurrection in materialized various bodies and shows “himself alive to them by many convincing proofs,” instructing them “about the Kingdom of God.”(Acts 1:3; 1 Corinthians 15:7)

'Heaven' is actually ,also considering the story of this Priest. , nor a condition and not a actual place... Heaven is an awareness of our Oneness.. (through the Holy Spirit) .
What ?!?, ... why didn't GOD create a 9-day week, and rest on the ninth day??, ... why is there the "Three in One GOD", instead of a "Five in One GOD", ... why did GOD give us 5 fingers on each hand, and five toes on each foot, ... rather than 7 on each?
What's the point of asking such a questions? So you ask, why 40 days?!?, ... because GOD wanted it that way. There is no handbook stating that after a resurrection, you've got to plan your ascension 40 days from that day. Plain and simple, GOD can do what ever he wants to do.

If 40 days has theological basis, why ask philosophical questions of it. I think the proper authority to approach the question is the Magisterium of the Church. It will not dish out knowledge but wisdom. After all the Magisterium is there for us to follow the Way, recognize the Truth, and and live the Life of Jesus. His pronouncements should be taken with a grain of salt.
I think there's a reason the Catholic Church has theologians and biblical scholars. The Magisterium is more authoritative, but they can't and don't need to rule on everything. The bible is clear enough in a lot of places to be understood without a magisterial act. The Magisterium has only defined like 7 verses of the whole Bible. But I understand you're coming out of a place of respect for and acceptance of the Magisterium, so that's a good thing.
🧘♂️THE TECHNIQUE👁️
The goal of this technique is to activate your Pineal and Pituitary Glands/ Third Eye. Begin by laying down in a safe place. Do a basic meditation to relax your body and clear your mind. Once you are relaxed, you are going to start squeezing and expanding your brain. Your brain is attached to muscles and tendons that let you expand and squeeze it. Bring your focus to your forehead and try squeezing and expanding your frontal lobe. Concentrate and keep trying until you can get it. Once you can feel it moving then move to the center of your brain, (this is where the glands are located, the Eye of RA) and do the same thing. Squeeze then stretch it out, feel it expand as if past your skull, squeeze, expand... After a few minutes move to the back of your brain where the Claustrum is located. This is where the Sacred Oil is produced. Do the same, squeeze, expand over and over. Once you get the hang of it, start doing it in a wave motion from the front to the back. Continue squeezing and expanding repeatedly until you can start to feel the fluids moving, such as mucus running down the back of your throat. Some people, myself included, experience something that sounds and feels like a crust breaking off the outside of your brain, this is normal. The objective is to get your brain working, you have never used it like this before. Once you get the fluids moving you want to push the Oil from the Claustrum in the back of the brain down the back of the spine, down your nervous system and back up the front. Using your back muscles, push the fluid down the back of your spine to the bottom. Squeezing your muscles in your lower area like your buttocks and sphincter. Then start pushing the fluid up the front of your spine. Men as well as women have kegel muscles, use these like a pump. Using your stomach and your chest muscles, continue pushing the fluid up the front of your spine into your brain, pumping the fluid up the front of the nervous system into the Pineal and Pituitary Glands, the Promised Land of Milk and Honey. Continue repeating this pattern, from the front of your brain to the back of your brain, down the back of your spine to the bottom, and up the front of your spine into your brain. Repeat this process as long as you can. When I did this I was not staring at a clock but it felt like an hour. Realistically I would say 15 to 30 minutes. I did it until all of a sudden I couldn't close my eyes! Not even to blink. This lasted for several minutes. At first I thought I broke my brain! As soon as I was able to relax enough to barely close my eyes, I slipped...
Some things to note:
1. I know to a lot of people this sounds weird, (like it's not already weird) but you need to make sure that the Moon is in your Sun Star sign. The Moon affects the fluids in your body and helps the Oil be created.
2. The ancient gnostic text talk about sexual abstinence in order to get this to work. I refrained from having sex for two weeks before I did this.
3. Make sure you are in a good place in your head and that you have pure thoughts. Because if you don't, you won't go all the way to the end and meet the Light.
4. If this does not work the first time, try decalcifying your brain for six months and then come back and try again. I put in a reverse osmosis machine under my kitchen sink for $150.00 and I quit using fluoride toothpaste. Fluoride calcifies the pineal gland, which is what we are trying to activate.
5. This last one is a WARNING. Working on yourself is PARAMOUNT beforehand so that you have the best positive experience you can. Also, you need those skills for afterwards. I was super high for about 2 weeks and then I became insanely negative. It took a lot of hard work to crawl out of that hole and then maintain the connection, so you need to be prepared for that mentally. SUICIDE HAS OCCURRED IN THE UNPREPARED. THIS IS LIFE CHANGING. Make sure you have some good meditation techniques. Maybe have a friend handy to lean on a little.
In my experience I was granted one wish, I wanted to be emotionally healed from the damage caused by being an innocent man on death row. I was also gifted with a vision. The Chrystal Light Being touched my heart in order to heal it so that I could love my family properly, and it showed me that everyone on Earth has this Light Being inside of them.
