So I have been playing around with the new DJI RoboMaster S1 for about a week now. Possibly this is the first unit in Canada as they were only released in a few select countries. In my review video, I discuss whether I think it is worth the $500 price tag as an educational toy and how it performs for those who are more interested in it due to its RC capabilities. I even mount a DJI Osmo Action on it to see how well it would perform as a remote-controlled 4k ground camera.
The Traxxas Slash is a great alternative if you are looking for a remote RC that you can mount a camera on and get some interesting ground shots
    Traxxas Slash (USA) amzn.to/2IZy101
    Traxxas Slash (CAN) amzn.to/2N2FwZi
My review is from a viewpoint of a DJI consumer who is purchasing it for reasons other than an educational toy for kids.

Buying a product and hope it does what it was not designed for is a mistake of the buyer. This is a great fun educational toy, not a walking go pro.

xiangzhi meng well lots of people who love making videos were expecting a walking GoPro, because DJI has always made drones to make nice footage not kids educational toys 🧸.

@@esaugalvez DJI has bigger picture in terms of this product as they want to pursuit on a product that will make kids and enthusiast to get interest into robotics, and FYI, they have been hosting Robomaster tournament for years, that's why this product came out, this is not just meant to be just a simple toy at all. and who the hell don't research and read about product intro first before buying a product ??? and just assume what they thought it was ? on a 500 dollar product ?? It wasn't designed nor is it advertised as a photographic platform. There's not much need for ankle high video. It's a toy for introducing robotics and programming to all ages. It costs less than most of DJI's flying drones and will teach my grand kids much more that is usable in their life than any photo drone. At nearly 70 Yo. I'm enjoying the hell out of this thing. It's durable (I don't do jumps with it) and the programming is limitless. I'm going to buy 2 more for the grand kids. Well worth the price. Wholesome, thought-provoking entertainment.

The whole point of this is to program it.. which is the very thing you decided you weren't going to do. It's not meant to be a walking gopro. The intent is to teach younger kids programming and more experienced kids with Python to modify it and get full control. You are reviewing a product based off of what you wanted it to be and not the actual intent. Of course it isn't going to have great video (even tho it's 720p 30 fps) because it is meant to teach people not to go around recording everything, it's just there to help you see. This is like the Tello EDU. It's not meant for great pictures rather than just to program it and learn or see how experienced you are in python. You give it a biased rating and an unfair review. While I am just 1 commentor I am disappointing at this channel. (I am gonna make my own biased review :) ) Since this video isn't the video I was expecting I will not recommend anyone watch this video.

Sorry, but your review missed the capabilities of a Robomaster. Its intended to be an educational tool to learn programming (you got that right) so not something a photographer using drones is going to be interested in. But you mention it is barely modifiable, Yet it has 6 extra PWM connectors, and extra SBUS connector for adding your own modules to it. And the programming tools include access to its AI libraries, which you learn how to use when doing the tutorials. The cards included: you kind of dismissed them, but they are an example to learn how to set up signage for the AI to recognise. Not just 'targets to shoot at'. This is an awesome DJi Product, just not to do photoshoots with. (unless you design a replacement for the gun with a camera in a shock-absorbing setup which you can control with the SBUS.... just an idea)

Look the robomaster s1 isn’t made for photography or video production it’s made for not only child’s programming but even more advanced coding for college classes. It can also be a great beginning fighting robot for people who want to get in to the sport which more Advanced robots can cost up to 50,000$. Overall I don’t think you should make a review of something if your not really reviewing what it’s supposed to do.

With that crappy precision.. is not really a rifle.. so I don't see any reason to use/give to clients safety glasses. By the way.. They are called safety GLASSES yet they are made from plastic.
