My great great grand granny bought a Pygmy at a human zoo in Paris ad kept her as a pet . (i am talking about a human Pygmy) . Maybe not go GGGGranny for me . Though according to her journal she bought her because she was heartbroken by the conditions she was kept in at the zoo, and treated her very decently with excellent food and climate appropriate clothing , so all in all, the lady had a far better and definitely much longer life that she would have had kept in a cage as attraction . As a matter of fact she lived 45 years , since the day she was adopted by my great great grand granny, she outlived her and was taken care of by my great grand father who offered her to send her back to Africa , which she declined and when she died she was properly in the family grave in Paris .
