That soldered jumper is to protect the laser from static so it needs to be removed

When the laser goes bad is 10 to 1 that won't read fine readjusting the pots

I think your CDP-CA70ES use the laser kss-240 which is a little different, no interchangeable but I think you need to remove a solder jumper like this
