One guy doesn't make a defense against the run that was top 5 to the worst in the NFL. They just played teams early that didn't keep running the ball. People forget the Giants a horrible team almost ran for 5 yards a pop on them. They just stopped running it. And it's not because the game was out of reach until late in the 3rd quarter. If the Giants would have said I'm running until you stop it Seattle losing the Giant game. Sure, losing a key piece on defense hurts the defense but it doesn't go from top 5 to worst losing 1 player. The defensive line was easily pushed around. No one sets the edge. The two ILB over running holes opening up huge cut back lanes. Add Seattle was one of the worst tackling in the NFL well this was terrible before the injury that that didn't change. Wagners numbers said he was good, but he was horrible at not staying in his gap and over running plays. He was horrible in coverage. Thank the Gods he's gone. Brooks as well. Both added to the problem. And the film showed it if you watched it. It was a horror show on how to no play ILB in the NFL.
To do that you need an offensive line!! That would fix EVERYTHING!
Yep, if you have a top OL, you can run the ball for gains and wear out defenses just by pounding the rock, you can win that time of possession when it matters, and best of all the QB is gonna have time to make the best throws they can make and make big plays and be protected when you wanna push the ball down the field through the air. Once we find a young LG and C, imagine how good this OL could be in 2-4 years
True you don't need 10 million a year RBs to run the ball. Dallas proved that for years they once had an elite OL and every RB they put behind it either lead the NFL in rushing or was pretty close. When those RBs went these where they were trash. Murray anyone. A good OL makes the passing game better. It makes the running game better. Spending 30+ a WR doesn't make the passing game better if the OL isn't good. But a good OL makes 3+ WRs look very good when they are giving time to run a route.
@@rig2037 Olu is your young center and either Bradford or Haynes will be the LG...this O line-with Cross, Haynes, Olu, Bradford, and hopefully a healthy Lucas-will be a strength of this team by or before mid season.....and they also have higher quality depth after the free agent signings...
What do the chiefs have? Very good o-line. Who wins super bowls? The chiefs. Therefore have a good o-line win super bowls. Easy peasy
Draft crews Humphrey instead of Eskridge, win super bowls lol
Darrell crashes down toward the QB without thinking. Taylor has a quick first step, over all he is slow. Maybe Macdonald can turn the light bulb on. Jackson looks like he could be a good tackling safety
