More of the issue comes from a global shortage of chips anyway, not just GPU's. Miners are only a tiny part of the GPU consumers.

@@dexsters5643 my point here is that we're all in the same boat. there are shortages on chips, and people want to buy those chips. just because this guy is mining with his graphics cards doesn't mean he is any less deserving to buy a graphics card as someone who wants to game. He has to pay the same price as anyone else. the enemy at the end of the day is really Nvidia and AMD and it's not even entirely their fault, it's because of covid too. I don't see any reason to place blame on miners, everyone has their own reasons for buying a gpu.

Hes not making shit with that small of a farm, coming from experience. His wattage is through the roof with those PC's despite how small it looks, the algorythms that hes trying to decrypt take months, if not years in some cases to get a full bitcoin, he would need to be in a pool for it to be really profitable at that small of a scale. Plus think about the money he has to spend on rigs like this to keep them profitable. were looking at like 7k minimum in graphics cards every 3 or 5 years when you can hardly make 1k in a year with the operation he has right now? Even if he was in a pool, he would have to take a cut of the profits because its a bunch of resources from a bunch of people sharing it together, and the bigger the pool, the harsher the cuts. Hes not doing this for money yet. Hes barely starting out.

With his hashrate ~1565 MH/s and a mining difficulty over the last two years until now has been about 50% lower he’d get about 56 ETH per year. This would be 112 ETH in total as a rough estimate which would equal to ~$130K today. Pretty solid investment which keeps giving. Building a rig with the same hashrate today from 5700XTs only would cost you about $16K giving (at the moment) ~40 ETH per year.

well it all depends on what cards and components.. i have just two 5700xt and its bringing in about 5.38 a day atm but the electricity cost is about 40 a month. making their guestimate about 168 a month but it is high right now.. which would be about 128 a month profit.. i made this machine for gaming and mining which costs more than just a miner.. the machine wholly costs about 2300, but that was months ago before the new cpus and cards came out.. i got the 5700xts for about 420 a POP.

@@UrbanMiningWithGearHead well the best way to go man would just be buying btc when its low and keeping it in your e-wallet/. until you feel you have made appropriate money... like for example i had bought a car for 2500 earlier this year and now if I had gotten that much in btc at a low moment it would have been a good manuever.. lets say i started in aug at 12k for btc..thats 1/6 of btc.. now if you cashed out at 27000 like now.. that would mean you have 16.6 percent of 27000. so ill do the math for you this once and you can carry the formula.. 4320 cash for that amount of bitcoin saved.. but i would have put in 2500.. so profit margin is $1820 which is most likely the profit amount you have heard of... but that is pertaining to investing in it directly not for machines that churn the code and you get paid for it.. its much more fixed than betting on a volatile currency.. but I do have a pc to use thats very quick now for doom eternal and dota 2... as welll as pretty much anything else pc oriented. i'm glad i can help some.

if i'm not wrong, he have 30 ampere so 6.6kwh that is 60 gpu assuming those gpu consume 100watt each(which should be about correct imho) + 600 watt for other components, this is 0.20 btc per month at current eth difficulty and exchange rate, which translate to around $250-300 per day

Mining Cards or not they use GDDR6 memories which is one of the reasons for the world wide video cards shortage at this moment. And keep in mind that the vast majority of people are not using dedicated mining cards but normal ones.
And at least some of the video cards from the video above are NOT mining cards as mining cards usually do not have video outputs.
My Ryzen 7 2700 CPU utilization in those few titles I'm playing barely go over 20-30%. In fact the processor is even in idle mode while the GPU is literally drowning at 100% usage causing shuttering, low FPS and low speed in general.

For taxes in the USA, you get to deduct all of the hardware cost in the year the equipment is purchased and the cost of the electricity used to mine plus the internet cost. I estimate the full year 2020 revenue of $30/day * 360 days = $10,800. The electricity should be around $6000 and the internet around $240. So, the 2020 impact on taxes is: ($10,800-$15,000-$6000-$240) = ($10,440). You get to deduct $10,440 of income off of your State & Federal Income taxes. HODL the ETH and sell it after holding for 1 year and you pay Long Term Capital Gains!
But this moron spent 16000+ on hardware. This certainly wasn't his money to begin with, otherwise there's no way he would have pissed it away so foolishly. Nice set-up! Your electric is about 5000 Kwh/month. Looks like your revenue as of 12/27/2020 should be about $60/day or $1800/month. Electric should cost $500-$750 month but also covers your heat bill. I would estimate your investment is about $12-$15,000 in GPU's. Good thing about GPU's is you can sell them for about $5-15,000 when ETH peaks out at $5000/ 1 coin in the next 1-2 years. You should be mining close to 3.0 ETH/month or 20-50 ETH in 1-2 years (hard to calculate since it depends on how much the difficulty increases and when the switch-over to POS takes place). If you HODL all of the ETH, you could be sitting on $100-$250,000! Great time to be mining ETH! BTC is mooning!

I’m so glad I haven’t been able to afford to replace my broken video card for almost a year now just so you could heat your apartment and make money. Totally worth having to give up my hobby of gaming during a pandemic and being bored. Good to see you are getting the nice RGB fans and cards too....that makes the mining faster, huh? I’m totally not hoping the crypto markets crash and you lose everything so the video card market goes back to normal and I can afford to enjoy gaming again.

I am not flush with cash as COVID cut my work leaving me with not much cash and the need for an outlet to help me forget the crappy situation that is life currently.....that would normally be some time gaming on my PC. But, as life likes to hand us lemons and then squirt their juice in out eyes, shortly after the plague his my video card died. Now I managed to save up enough cash to replace it with a lower to mid range card but as soon as I did people like this guy started snatching them up so they could "mine" imaginary money. The cards should be used for their intended purpose and not like this or in the hands of scalpers to give to guys like this. Prices were already high for video card without people like this making a $300 card cost $1200! So yeah.....I and a lot of other gamers that don't have access to trust funds are a bit miffed!
