When Martinez has a competent partner that allows him to go full aggressive. He shines so much. So happy Varane is there to command that line. Shows how much of a hindrance Maguire is. All this talk about Martinez's height has been embarrassing when no criticism has been pointed at Maguire from the English media.
English media protects mediocre Maguire
So true
gary and jamie would vote for maguire as women of the year if they could.
Exactly. All this talk about his height as though there's no other short defenders, and him being short invalidates all his abilities. It's just stupid
Maguire is a big Mafia even English Media fear him of those scorpion kick that Pogba receivedđ€đčđđ
Good defending by Martinez, Malacia and Verane. I like these guys
Just need to get a RB in the window and hopefully another CM
Because they are good defenders Maguire should be 10 miles away from that team.
Dalot played well against a dangerous man as well..
You forgot Dalot ...He was a Breast tonight
No Maguire , Shaw , or Fred we have chance
Martinez was brilliant. Heâll be the central defender weâve needed for a long time. Once he gets used to the premier league properly heâll be immense.
too early to say. This was a derby match v liverpool that Man United needed to win. They needed to make up for the embarrassing performances in the first 2 games, so they came out fighting for their lives. Will they work that hard in the next game? - I doubt it.
A player coming in from another country and whoâs been playing in another league will need time to adjust. I think heâll be brilliant when heâs used to premier league football.
@@johnku888 I wouldnât give 10 new pence for what most of the pundits come out with.
@@johnku888 last week he was being bullied around by Brentford's forwards. but he got back on it.
If you look at his stats last week they were quite good. Won both aerial duels he contest and wasn't at fault for any goals. He is a beast and is going to make everyone eat humble pie. He is the signing I have been most excited about in years since the day they bought him
We were born to win .. this is one of my happiest nights' do u guys feel the same
Liverpool really suffered without Maguire playing up front for them.
Congratulations Manchester United brilliant đ đ I didn't expect it but I am very thrilled đ
Finally Paul Scholes is having a laugh...đđđđ
That's wind!
Liverpool will never be the same without Mane' in their team he was the main instigator in Liverpool attacking force
What club is after losing a key asset? Just look at Maguire today, a liability finally being dealt with. It takes time. They'll be ok.
never the same
100% agree said this when he went, liverpool will have bad season
I agree. Last season it was Mane & Sala. Pure magic. It's hard to replace that.
I totally agree with Owen H , casemiro is a big plus for United, they lacked a player of his character, very aggressive, strong winning mentality

No Maguire, no losses. It seems like United might have turned the corner and with Casemiro coming, it will certainly improve.

I think if United play with: De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia Cassimero, Fernandes, de Jong, Antony, Rashford, Sancho

Greetings a Ajax fan
We are not going to get de jong. We might but highly unlikely get anthony
@@user-uh4ub4ke3t have you been living under a rock ? We are 100% getting antony
Antony didnât play at Ajax last weekend, because he was too busy with his transfer
Where is SADIO MANE? lol he was the fighter pushing the opposite team defense ito the panic mode always n order for Salah and other to score goals.
He was under appreciated so has moved on and the team is missing his pressing and tireless running.

Martinez Braveheart
This is the way man united should be player must be agreesive I like that
Masterclass from Klopp, shop sold out, this will keep Glazers for another 5 years
wow sincerely who would have thought man united would outplay outrun Liverpool , what a performance , making brave decisions , Maguire benched , Bruno Fernandes was visible , Liverpool were poor today , what man united put in a lot of effort in this match
Ten Hag put in players who can actually run. Incredible what a difference it makes when you have a speedy youngster who can blow past the back line for the second goal as opposed to a sluggish 37-year-old man who was once great but has been caught up to by Father Time.
@@dentonyoung4314 This comment is in such poor taste, considering he lost his child. Imagine being spoken of this way after your child dies. Would be nice and logical by your standards, wouldn't it?
@@senzokai3156 No one isn't feeling sympathy for the man. In poor taste would be making a dead baby joke.
Saying he can't move as fast at age 37 as he could when he was in his mid 20's isn't in poor taste. I used to be a distance runner, now I couldn't run three miles. Father Time caught up.
@@dentonyoung4314 If that is truly what you meant and you aren't shifting the goalpost, then I sincerely and unconditionally apologise for completely misinterpreting what you wrote. My inference from it was an accusation towards him where time with children was taking away from his commitment to the club.
This is a man who played mere days post the death of his infant child. Thus, such an insinuation didn't sit right with me.
Your argument is still a bit of a logical fallacy. This isn't 37 year old Harry Maguire we're talking about here when we compare him to his twenties. Unless Erik needs ten outfield players who move like Adama Traore on the ball, pace is still subjective. Ronaldo was rapid when young. He's 37 and his legs have gone but it's not like he can't put in the work.
Compare him with someone like Sancho and you'll realise the latter isn't particularly rapid. So this argument that he can't run isn't about his legs but his perceived attitude, coupled with the generalisation that younger players are likelier to listen than he is - after he publicly told people the younger players in the club don't listen to even him, statistically the best player to play the game.
Being a distance runner is about endurance and stamina. Not raw pace. Your example is different. If this was a sprint, I'd get your point about his pace being gone but he's more than capable of producing bursts of acceleration. His legs aren't the problem here for anyone who has seen him make runs and close down opposition players during matches, only to get fed up with no service.
The father analogy is a non sequitur. He isn't a typical footballer, just like Zlatan. Using ourselves to apply the same logic to him is absurd when professional sportsmen at the highest level have been left astonished by his fitness and conditioning.
@@senzokai3156 Thank you for the apology -- and the explanation. I agree with your points about Ronaldo still being able to produce the occasional sprint and it being more about the leadership. I still think against a team that will put 11 men in their own penalty box and bunker in, Ronaldo can be effective -- his ability to find a gap and score a goal on a ball lofted into the box is still there. Against a team which plays its back four in the attacking third like Liverpool someone like Rashford is a better choice since you'll need about 100 70-yard sprints in behind the defense. (I exaggerate slightly, but Liverpool did play a VERY high line.)
Apart from Liverpool playing badly doesn't take anything away from Manchester United, The difference was omitting Maguire and Ronaldo not playing for different reasons. Maguire has not got the class for MU style of playing and Ronaldo - despite his class and past keeps the rest of the team from plying their best and his attitude toward leaving is also bad for the team. Now there is hope but still, a long way to go. Also if Tenn Haag keeps being humble like last night and listens to advise it's real hope. Long term the Blood/Money sucking Glaziers must go if MU is coming back to past glory, and Fergie is to be banned from the training ground.
Am in afrika kenya and i always ask with this Old age of Fergie and the digital world of today what advice can he bring to this team .
Rashford : 'I was tired on the end of the game ' wtf they should be all sick of tired every game , lol
My two words again: Drop Maguire
Well done to Man U but its only 1 game. These players proved with hard work they can challenge anyone. Its been a disgrace how much these players have been working during games up until last night. If they keep that work rate up they'll be a handful for anyone.
Donât get carried away with this result. Yes itâs definitely a much improved performance compared to the first two games. However the ball possession statistic is still quite worrisome. Without good ball control they canât expect to get consistent results.
Not many teams beat Liverpool on possession
Casemiro
Possession in a game matters only with the end product which is a goal. It's always a goal that makes a difference.
Even during SAF we never Possessed rivalry teams but we always defended and attacked as a team. We used to win so much on counter attacks. And guess what? At the end of the day no one cared about how many passes Arsenal "forexample" made. At the end of the day it's goals that matter most. Therefore in history we shall remember that on the 22nd of August 2022 we beat Liverpool 2-1. Not Liverpool had a possession of 70% and Man U 30%.
No one's talking about Mctominay...mans did his job very well today
He also was clumsy
He was okay yeah, I liked his drive but to be fair I never questioned it, only his decision making at times, but tonight everyone was pressing and supporting each other so that worked well for him. He still was a bit clumsy but as someone who wants to keep him as a squad player I'm very happy with his performance tonight.
MotM
In a midfield 3 Scott will always do good he protects the back four and press players plays the simple pass well with composer
@@skabashane3368 composure? Scott? Sorry mate we don't see the same thing, I like McTominay but one of his main flaws is the fact he gets easily rattled, and when pressed he panics and does clumsy passes, he has qualities but composure isn't one I've seen from him.

no way can harry or shaw deserve to start next game when martinez and new left back done great
This season would be very tough... many teams have really improved. The champion would have to dig in day after day. Good match for Manchester united and congratulations for the win from a faithful gunner.
It was an incredible game
See how bias these so called sports analyst are? They deflect the real problems in the team Maguire , shaw etc. They also refuse to acknowledge the efforts of Malachi , Varane , Martinez etc smh
They quick to underestimate Martinez because of his hight but he has been our best cb for years and he hasn't even started yet but maguire never get criticism even though he is consistently rubbish and too slow!

Gwan super Rashford. It's the new dawn
Sancho and Rashford were anonymous apart from the goals. Rashford stopped pressing after 10 mins and let Liverpool get hold of the ball, we were way better when Martial went up top.
The defence deserve all the plaudits. Every single one of them was brilliant. Not just Varane and Martinez but Dalot and Malacia too. They were all ultra aggressive off the ball but composed on it.

Good job guysđbut one thing i want say,i need strong attack midfielder like antony soon us possible to see he play next match...
Last season, the number of time matip cleaned up for Liverpool was unbelievable. Van dijk don't want to get dribbled, so ge runs away from making a tackle. He did it too many times last season.
Spot on with van dijk..
I've notice that
He also did that against Fulham in their first match
Those 24 goals Casemiro scored is absolutely out of this world. He came up with the most precious times to score for Madrid in crucial stages in CL and laliga. Man U got lucky he wanted or was willing to leave Madrid.
24 goals in a decade. Dont get your hopes up mate
