Broadcast should have been so much bigger. Really underrated band. They’re songs are so complexed to play. Their sound is unique. Ive never heard any other band like them. More people should listen to broadcast.

Their sound was inspired partly by a band called The United States of America, which had a similar sound. If Trish hadn't died I think they would have become much more widely known. Word about them would have continued to spread organically, without commercial hype, as it does even now.
There's an interview they gave where they talk about modelling their sound on music from certain 1960s film soundtracks, as well as being inspired by the band United States of America

I only found out about Broadcast 2 months ago. I feel like I lost a friend somehow. Wish I had more than a few dozen songs by her to listen to. Grateful I have a few dozen songs by her to listen to. They never get old either. There's always a new surprise in the lyrics, vocal melodies, or intricate weaving of sounds.
Her and Elizabeth Fraser have probably the two most beautiful/ethereal voices I've ever heard.

I discovered Broadcast around a month after Trish died.
It still hurts my feelings I never got to see them live, or that Trish’s amazing career was cut so short.
Broadcast is easily in my top 5 favorite bands of all time. Easily. There is no band line them and they capture moods and atmosphere that no piece of music I’ve heard ever comes close to.

20yrs on and this still makes my hair stand on end
Ive listened at least once a year since she's passed almost obsessively at times. I was hooked on this band when my friend showed me the warp record anniversary videos in 2010 this stood out from most of it.

This is fricking fantastic. Love soooo many of their songs. Also this specific sing reminds me of the music from a swedish kids show from the 70. The name is "fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter" i fint remember the composor though. :(

First Union has a big voice but her voice is really high she sounds like someone from stereolab but she doesn't really sound like someone from a big deal
She is a superior Dusty Springfield figure, in that, she wrote her own tunes, where Dusty sang other peoples songs. Trish is superior.
