  • Millions of tourists come to Siem Reap every year to experience the wonders of Angkor Wat. After the sun sets and the temples have been explored the next adventure is Pub Street.
Pub Street, officially titled Street 8, is the culinary and nightlife hub of Siem Reap - sort of the city’s answer to Bangkok’s famed Khao San Road. On Pub Street, you’ll find an assortment of restaurants and bars, as well as entertaining street performers and some fantastic people watching.
Starting at 5 pm the street is blocked off to cars making it great place to stroll around and take in the sights. You can’t visit Siem Reap without stopping by Pub Street at least once.
The crowds are lively making the area worth a visit. You can meet people from all over the world here adding to your experience in Cambodia.

Pub street is very popular for people to relax after a long day exploring the temples. Another fun thing to do is see a local market. Here is the largest market in Siem Reap if you want to see more.

What a fun area, not to crazy nice spot to sit and grab a bite, a beer and people watch. Thanks.

I like the area much better than places like Khao San Road in Bangkok. The pizza at the Red Piano is very good. If you find yourself in Siem Reap it’s worth a visit. The people watching is also fun as well.

I visited Siem Reap in May 1997 and it was empty. Only 3 hotels for foreigners back then, no pub street, no nothing! I was the only person at Angkor Wat, which I had to share with a few cows ... Totally different now.

Much different. It’s nice to have all of the amenities but the crowds take away from the experience. If you go to Koh Ker now it’s about the same. You can explore it on your own without anyone else there.

What time of night were you on Pub Street? Was it any good or mostly boring?

@@seans7228 I was on Pub Street every evening for 10 days. It was pretty much exactly the same every night. For this video I started filming probably around 6:30, had dinner and walked around until about 8pm. I like the atmosphere because it’s not too crazy like Khao San Road is in Bangkok (that’s what most people compare it to). If you are looking for a wild party it would be boring but just to hang out, have dinner and a few drinks it’s perfect.
