When the song first opens, you can hear my clapping and squeal. I had gone that night to Town Hall. I was anticipating what song Tweedy and Chris Thile would play. I love Poor Places.
This is why Wilco is the greatest American band--even the noise tracks can engage an entire Celtic folk band and still only barely scratch the surface of the song
Yankee..hotel...Foxtrot. Yankee..hotel...Foxtrot. Yankee..hotel...Foxtrot. Yhf, being there, ghost is born are all tremendous albums start to finish. PB's "Grow" was too--back when they did bluegrass and didn't fake the funk.
Great YHF track by Wilco. Credit to Jay Bennett. He was a driving force at the time of the song's original recording on YHF as far as sound and structure.
Is it bad that I like the more acoustic folkie live versions of This over the original don't get me wrong I love Jay Bennet but there's just something about the electronic element that he brought to some songs that put me off them a little bit idk maybe that's just me
They never should have moved it away from Minnesota. We loved it here and supported it whole-heartedly. Not to mention the great connection with Minnesota Public Radio.
Utter Brilliance - this performance still brings me to tears
Just might be my favorite version of this song. So good it brings tears.
i wish jeff would make a fully acoustic version of YHF with the punch brothers
Yes
Please god let these guys do an album together...

This is, oddly, Christmas for me now.
I want to meet the 7 people who disliked this video and ask them why. Such a beautiful version.
Very beautiful!
The original studio version is a hurricane. This is like a tepid sunshower that lacks the chaotic brilliance of the original.
@@djstarsign There are allowed to be different versions, appreciated for different reasons. I adored this version and adore the original.
Dafties
Inventive in story and song.
No words for this...
Fantastic! I love how Thile just went straight for the hug. Some fine musicians right there.
Seeing two of my favorite acts sharing a stage is a huge treat. Thank you.

Punch Brothers and Chris Thile introducing the road to

Cool! I love this version.
This was a treat as well.
(I stopped wearing my "Open Road" in 2010 so JT could own that look today.)
Brilliant.

They should record together!
The acoustic guitar player is reminding me why I always keep a capo in my case.
Caught the radio show. Wish you'd upload the closing number, the Pogues Fairy Tale of New York, which was moving.

Isn’t it odd that those very things Jay did are what put this song over the moon for me. Right up there with Lennon/Martin. I miss you JB.
It kills me they cancelled this show.

Wish it better represented the arrangement, considering how good at that the Brothers are
