Having your flap opened like that is a hazard for yourself and others (see Ericsson in Monza), but let's imagine it wasn't and just gave you a straight up advantage in the race, like in the game. And the driver ignores the pit crew request to pit so they can fix it because he wants to exploit that advantage it gives him. It's now completely unfair, and the team can just say "ah it was a DRS failure, sorry, not our fault". That would open the door for teams to sabotage their own cars on purpose on certain tracks. If this happened for real, I'm sure at the very least it would have been a penalty, if not DSQ.

And as far as a could see and can see, if the pit chief knew that it's something that could they could be penalized for, then he'd make the call more often or tell him of the consequences. Other than that, why trade a good advantage for a tremendous disadvantage and look like an idiot?
@@alzingafagan7501 Again, that's the game's fault. A real DRS stuck open failure will get you in the wall almost guaranteed, but the game stays arcady enough that you can control the car and just benefit from the increased top speed. But in a hypothetical scenario where it was the same in real life, it just gave you a straight up advantage over the grid, and the pit crew could fix it, he'd have to pit. If flexi-wings that flex just a tiny weeny little bit too much can cause drama, a driver allowed to keep racing on an open rear wing flap would be instantly penalized if he ignores the order to pit, regardless if it's a failure or not. If it was so good to get, you don't think teams would start trying to plan around those failures?

@ILoveFishyx Actually it's a misunderstanding from the settings page that people could see. We are not getting any random failures we don't already have. You could always have gotten them even on new components, it's just that it's super rare when you components are good. Codemasters released a statement on it, also stating they in fact prefer if there were no random failures (which I think is stupid).

Looks like the pit stop animation has finally been updated. Looked so bad how they suddenly turned almost 90 degrees when entering and exiting the pit box in the previous games.
I know I was watching vids of F1 2020 and it was so unrealistic, glad to see they changed it

Realistic???? You must be blind? The car still awkwardly slides into the pit box. In previous iterations the car would look stiff when turning in and also when exiting the box and this year is absolutely no different.

It would be really sick if they added like in the pits like there’s a chance there could be a problem and it takes forever to get a tire or the wheel gun fails I’ll love to see that

Well here in the u.s it’s only 60 dollars to pre-order not expensive,but I mean I know a way to get it cheaper but you’ll have to wait if f1 2021 is still in disc version you can get one that’s “damaged”from Amazon and it’s really cheap and the damage well from my 2020 copie was that the box it was in had a small plastic broken and from 60 dollars to 30

Engine sounds seem unchanged, and that sound I’m pretty sure it’s the gearbox (straight cut gears)

Yeah, it seems like a blessing and curse at the same time. Like iContrast was saying, if you get floor damage you might as well retire the car. That's a bit cruel imo. So, I'm imaging this will be turned off in league racing? Unless Codemasters make the effect of the damage less dramatic, I can't see this being turned on in league racing (and online in general) as a lot of people would get frustrated and quit probably after the first corner already.

5:48 anyone noticed they fixed the weird unrealistic sharp turn into the pit box?
The pit entery animation still looks garbage. The car looks so stiff when turning in and also when exiting the box. Looks the same as previous iterations in that regard. Also when on board with the AI they still turn the wheel weirdly when in a crash and what not. The graphics look better but it's not a huge leap overall

Honestly this HUD is kind of growing on me. When I first saw it a couple days ago I thought it looked absolutely horrid. But the more gameplay I see, the better it starts to look imo 🤔

Curbs look a lot more realistic. Overall it looks less vibrant so it looks more realistic. Compare it to f1 2020. 2020 is a lot more colorful and looks cartoonish. 2021 looks more realistic
Agreed but it doesn’t help when people don’t calibrate there tv and have the colour set to over 70% when you only need it at 50% otherwise games look like cartoons

I hope the DRS stuck open will give a "Force to pit" message, because it's an unfair advantage and even risky IRL. FIA would force the driver and team to pit and shut the DRS, even if it can't open anymore.
If your DRS is stuck open you can go to the pits if you want it more realistic
In a real race it would be a black and orange flag.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could wave at other drivers in Game and the Ai would wave back? Because you already can take your hand of the steering wheel to make a "what the hell gesture" when you get hit? Or if you could build up friendships with other drivers in Career Mode or MyTeam by participating in events that increase popularity. (I just really want the Game to have options to act like Lando and Carlos)

I think there should be a rule about the stuck open rear wing so the player must pit and or fix it in under like 3 laps beacuse it's more of an advantage even with the less downforce
I’m so glad I became a fan of f1. It’s been so fun learning a new sport. I enjoy how the game gets improved every year unlike other games.
What I'd like to see is an option to make the AI feel more human, like make them spin every now and then or even crash. It never happened in my career in 2020 and I'm in the 4th season now. The only way to get a safety car is if someone has mechanical issues or if you crash into someone.
@Anirudh Shetty Ariyadka Oh really? I didn't see it yet. That should make career against AI's a lot more interesting. Because now I feel like there's no point of not using the flashback when u spin or go wide vs AI's cuz it never happens to them anyway so... Looking forward to it!
No that's not really what I meant, the fault option can increase the frequency of mechanical failures for the player as well instead of it only happening to the AI. I mean its an okay option, feel like the immersion is gonna be broken if it happens too often.
Never happened to you? Bro I did 100% race distance career mode and most races the AI would crash or have a mechanical failure.
@@MrRaphaelLippi I always do 50% and they alwaayys have mechanical failures but nothing else, no spins, no crashes, no time penalties... takes away the immersion for me.
game looks amazing, im a huge f1 fan as of 2020, lol. i was never into it until i watched a full race. i was instantly hooked and im ingesting any and all f1 content i can find. havent picked a fovorite racer yet but i do like Gasly for some reason. i like his passion for the sport.

Idk if it was just me but when he went into the pit and I saw the animation I said "oh my god" because before it seemed so unnatural to jerk the steering wheel out of sync with the path it would take. (Still kinda looks unnatural but its a little better)

the two things i wanted to be improved were the driver models and cutscenes, and they didn’t disappoint! the drivers look way more realistic, and the cutscenes are a lot better

I've been playing 2020 in VR and it is the FUNNEST racing game I've ever played. My team is awesome and addictive. I've been really hard on Codies for no native VR support, which we should be, but I have to give it to them, it's a great game and super fun.
