On 20 April, the official day of 70th Anniversary celebrations, Vice-President Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf (Somalia) of the International Court of Justice will be marking this milestone by offering his thoughts on the future of the World Court. His personal Talk will be introduced by students of Pax Initiative presenting the results of an Idealab and followed by a moderated Q&A session with our audience. A unique opportunity to break down barriers for a constructive dialogue.

Man like Abdulqawi makes me to be proud to be Somali man
The following points come to mind from his story. 1. Is that he says he was born in a small town in North Eastern former Somalia But he mentions Mogadisho where he got his Education but did not mention the name of the small town that produced him. That is a failer in recognising the place he was born in , should be proud enough to mention the small town. 2. He joined the profession by luck not by chose, that shows you the startdard of the country at that time. 3 . He got the chance to join the court through Djoubti Somalis independent Somali state, not far from the failed state even though he was educated by the failed state. Conclusion , is that Mutiple Somali I independent states recognized by the world based on regionalism like Somaliland and Djibouti, and South Somali would give more chances to more Somalis to excel in what ever fields there are in . Meaning that unity of Somalis is not in a unilateral south Somalis tribal gathering in south Somali Mogadisho. Djoubti Somalis independent state recognized by the world introduced this Gentle to the international court of justice, meaning what if Somalis have 3 somali weyn regions governments giving more Somalis chances to succeed iin many fields. As for the lecturer speaking without referring to a written letter and being eloquent and to the point was excellent. Proud to be a somali.

Your mindset very small and i am sure it doesn't deserve to be replied but i will do anyway. First, he purposefully omitted it in order to represent all somali people instead of his clan, secondly, if you think he is from somaliland he is not and i don't mean to offend any somaliland people. every somali person is proud of abdulqawi regardless which part of somalia he is from and i am glad he dicided to represent every somali person and we are proud of him. And by the way, its not uncommon somebody to study a faculty which he doesn't plan, it happens all around the world. I, myself, wanted to study law and i end up medicine and excell it as abdulqawi excelled law. For every somali person education is not luxury anywhere we stay anywhere we are from anything we can study we need it because one day it will be needed as we need abdulqawi now.
