My assumption is that Creed in real life was uncomfortable with it, as he stated in an interview that he was “uncomfortable” with starting at Jenna Fischer for the fashion-show scene. I can’t imagine that since he stared at Jenna Fischer as Pam until Jenna Fischer convinced him that it was just part of his character, he would stare at Melora Hardin as Jan unless she approved of the staring.
