  • Do you have a thick phone wallet? Do you use a novelty ringtone or set notifications to ping constantly? Is the crying laughing emoji one of your go-to texting characters? Well, you may not think of yourself this way, but you're middle aged.

Found this quite annoying. I and many "older people need to have our phones ringing. Many hospitals ring now re appointments etc but tend not to leave messages probably due to patient confidentiality etc. Not everyone know when their phones are vibrating. Loosen up a little bit, life is too short to be so grumpy and ageist. 😊😊😊

@canesacahar yeah, the whole time he's talking about these "issues" I'm thinking it's not normal to be annoyed by these things so much, I think there's some name for this where you're ears hypersensitive to these things, and he thinks everyone else is the problem, not that he may have a problem.

I think this is silly I’m starting my 50s, I don’t do alerts or have ring tones or use emojis. I do have iPhone 14 with c adaptor I don’t send comic texts and I always have a power bank. I don’t take personal calls on any transport or restaurant as it’s rude.

Ringtones and alerts never bother me, it's just background noise, I work in an office and everyone's phone makes noise, what annoys me more is the laptops, desktops and landlines pinging and ringing all day, but they need to be heard, you can't miss a call, a message or an email.
And you no what annoys me more than anything, people clicking pens or knocking on their desks to a rhythm! So yeah, phones are the least of my worries, and I don't think "oh, what a old fogie with his ringtone" because it's usually the younger people.
What about people "face-time-ing" in public or speaking on loud speaker? That's rude, nobody want to hear your conversation. Or what about the young folk not taking off the click sound when they type on their phones, clickity click click click!

Ageist! So, older people are not 'normal' people? Shame!

Did you mean to sound so self involved. If not, anti anxiety meds are readily available.

    This is absolute nonsense.
