    • @spencerhansen8374
      @spencerhansen8374 Před 3 lety +11

      Now? Mankind has only ever had, and will forever always only have, an illusion of Justice. Everything pertaining to justice from our perspective is opinion, from "evidence"(including video) to "eye" witness testimony. All of it is tainted and skewed by whatever meaning we give it, beforehand(bias and prejudice) or in the moment(again biased by any given persons personal perspective in real time). Hence everyone's "testimony"(whether few or many coincide and to what degree they agree) isn't truth, it's just "their" truth and is therefore just "opinion". We all just agree that as soon as several people report the same(close enough) "facts" that that constitutes probability and can therefore be relied upon to enforce our "justice". We will never come to the point where we know enough about any particular event to be able to really claim that we know "justice" was served. But we feel better when we claim to have done so. And people with biased opinions(to either side) are the first to feel smug about it. Get over it(society), you don't know enough.

    • @robertrizzi4915
      @robertrizzi4915 Před 3 lety +2

      @@jackkingsby116 I never implied or said he was innocent or guilty. I rely on the judicial system to serve its intended purpose. My comment was directed at the system as it stands today, not the outcome of any one case. It just so happens that it is very sensational to focus on black vs. white cases, and the majority of the people on the sidelines go for the shiny lure as such as opposed to focusing on how the system itself may have failed. For example, why on this Earth did the Judge think for one minute that not sequestering the Jury was a good idea?
      Jury instructions had a good chance of being followed 25+ years ago when only radio, TV, and print media. Now it's smartwatches, smartphones, text messaging, email, and all of the earlier platforms I mentioned.
      It is possible and somewhat probable that at least one Jury member may have come into contact with outside information related to the case. Plus, politicians weighing in on desired outcomes before deliberation is appalling at the very least, if not grounds for abuse of power and influence.
      As I said initially, this was a showcase and a parade for the people and not about allowing the judicial system to do its job.
      After all, if we tamper with the system, deviate from its intended purpose, violate defacto rules, then this prevents the feedback all systems, judicial or otherwise, need to lead to improvements.

There's a new case almost daily of human beings making bad decisions and those human beings wear badges. I honestly don't have an opinion on this case, because I wasn't a juror. I didn't see all of the testimony. Public opinion has no place in the courtroom. Legislative members making comments about a case is in direct conflict with the separation of powers. Destruction of people's property, lives, and our cities is not the answer. All this does is divide us further. The end result is a tyrannical dictatorship in which people will be removed from society forever if there's any disagreement with authority. Why can't people see that? This isn't the first time this social experiment has been tried with regards to a Republic. The major difference lies only with how the people were treated during the other attempts. Rather than slavery being abolished, it was embraced and promoted. We have all the hallmarks in our own society with few exceptions. The world will not care when we fall. No one will care except those of us which aren't in the 1% which includes everyone commenting here. Yet for some reason, people continue to think that social justice is the answer. It isn't, voting is. Systems of merit are the answer not systems of entitlement and burdens placed on all of society. This entire movement is a burden on all of society at a time when adding burdens is not the answer as we already have more burdens than we can handle. Use your brains folks not your feelings.

    The fact that the jury wasn't sequestered AT ALL should be motions for an automatic mistrial. Would be that way in ANY other case, period..

      Juries aren't normally sequestered in multiday trials. So I definitely wouldn't say any other case... there has to be a brightline. Obviously this case was far beyond the line where they should have been sequestered immediately, but I seriously doubt, without specific statements from the jurors about taint that this judge will grant a mistrial.

      @@stephenpettyjohn8624 I don't believe that'll be the case either, I think he'll be convicted and I can't say I disagree. But as far as Kim Potter goes- they rushed an unfit charge to push an agenda. And that's where all juries in all of these cases need to be sequestered bc you will NEVER have true justice with the the influence of the Lamestream Misledia and the radical Demonrats..

    • @stephenpettyjohn8624

      @@JoeyAgzBDA Eh I think a mistrial is the most likely outcome. There's so many reasons that a unanimous decision will be difficult. Racal issues, fear of verdict/acquittal setting off looting, a juror willing to hardline defend on the drug/exhaust info like many have in the comments. A hung juror leading to mistrial or a juror admitting during deliberations to taint both seem like pretty likely outcomes.
      As for Kim Potter, them charging fast to calm the public to extent does not necessarily mean a corrupt grand jury. She is almost certainly guilty of "gross negligence leading to a death", manslaughter definitions vary state to state so I'm not sure if that is the correct charge. But dosen't surprise me they put an indictment in place quickly as it can always be changed by the state later.
