      personally, i think it’s unlikely because LIS:double exposure is about max shifting to a different dimension trying to save safi, i don’t think it would make sense to see chloe if the game isn’t about her yk?

    • @ZephyrAlphaOne

      @@aprilnoob1782 There's a possibility we'll see Chloe or Rachel in that parallel dimension regardless of which choice you made in the first game. I don't know, but I really think the whole parallel dimension idea was brought up by the creative team to undo or rectify that ending and save some characters that people still love. Think about it, the only reason they're coming back to Arcadia Bay characters is because neither of the following games' characters are as beloved as Max and co. (don't get me wrong, they're okay) so, from a financial standpoint, it's better to try and stretch the story that suceeded as much as possible, until it gets stale. The first game killed off some important characters (because by then, the studio didn't have the ideia of this becoming a series), which ultimately limits future stories. So, well, just bring them back in a different dimension.

      i think its virtually impossible. as much as i love chloe and wanted this i realized that both endings in LIS1 are canon so they cant really include her to be in the story, or not a major part at least. the most id assume they let us get of her is probably a phone call or a letter, otherwise they'd have to make two separate games depending on what you chose in the first game.

      @@aprilnoob1782 I think it would make less sense if we didn't see Chloe if she was alive, because the game is about Max and a big part of Max as a character is her relationship with Chloe. It would be easy enough to keep her presence to a minimum by coming up with some reason that she's living somewhere else and only keeping in touch with Max from afar, but it doesn't make sense for either of them to entirely bail on the other after the Bae ending.

  • @MzLuluZombi

    I don't think the polaroid we've seen is Chloe's appearance if we keep her alive, because Max would likely have a more up-to-date photo of a living Chloe in her wallet. Because the polaroid is of Chloe from the first game and has the caption "Arcadia Bay" written on it, I think that photo is what Max keeps in her wallet if Chloe is dead.
    I hope Chloe makes a physical appearance if she lives, even if it's just a scene of her coming to Caledon to try talking with Max and leaving shortly after. It wouldn't be that different from getting an extra scene when you save Kate in LiS1.

      The problem with that is that if you didn't keep Chloe alive then Max never met Chloe with blue hair. I mean, yes, she would remember her time together, but any photos she took during her time with a blue haired Chloe would not exist. From something I read, I think you are right that they have something closer to the photo from LiS2 if Chloe is alive, but that Polaroid being from the dead Chloe timeline doesn't really make sense so we're possibly already having continuity issues.
      As for her showing up if she's alive. I'm pretty sure that if she does it will be some cameo thing, but I keep wondering why they can't just build in a full story with her if you saved her. There have been games for years that have a bunch of different scenes that you don't see if you didn't save certain characters in previous games in franchises. If programmers could do this regularly like 15 years ago, I don't see why they couldn't do this with one character now. Though I know they aren't going to.

    • @MzLuluZombi
      @MzLuluZombi Před dnem

      @@seanhewitt-mallet7143 I'd presume Chloe took it herself or Rachel did, since Chloe has her father's camera easily accessible in her room. Seems really odd that Max and Chloe would stop to take a photo of Chloe flipping the bird in a ruined Arcadia otherwise if that makes sense?
      I do hope there's something like if you chose Bae ending, Chloe will appear at Caledon to maybe see Max, and if you chose Bay ending it's someone else coming to see Max, and then they have some minor involvement with the main plot and are out of commission for one reason or another to add drama. Telltale's TWD had quite a few choices that were X or Y character and still kept the overall plot consistent while that choice, however minor, still made a difference in the player's story. I feel like there aren't many instances of that in the LiS games despite following the Telltale gameplay formula, the most where changes of a scene's characters happened was in the first game.

      @seanhewitt-mallet7143 Před dnem

      @@MzLuluZombi The question then becomes how Max wound up with the photo. Which could be simply done, but still...if I were them I would have had a photo from before Max left the first time in the Chloe died timeline.
      Yeah, LiS hasn't really done that so far, but at the same time we haven't had a return to previous protagonists in any LiS games so far. Max and Chloe were so intertwined during LiS1 that it would make sense to go something like the route that you are talking about or even possibly not even have a character that takes that place in the no-Chloe timeline. Have there be things that Max does with fewer friends or even alone in the Bay timeline.

  • @LetsTalkChristianBelman

    Before you crucifix me I am already stating that this is my opinion and mine only: I am personally getting tired of the timeline trope. I'm getting tired of them because, the way it is being done, specially with Marvel, is to give people the happy ending they all want and (again in the case of marvel) to keep their characters alive and keep milking their franchises). I don't like the multiple time lines approach because, besides making being a lazy way to make everybody happy (oh look! your favorite character died in this universe but don't worry because in this other one they are alive and living the life of their dreams). or maybe precisely because of it, that these multiple timelines subtract and diminish importance and significance to important events like Chloe's death or Arcadia's Bay destruction. One of the reasons death is so impactful in fiction and real life it's because it is definitive. Nothing can change it, and while max has her rewind powers, she still has the choice of how ultimately the world she lives in will continue. Her actions have consequences. One of the reasons I hated LiS comics it's because they brought back Rachel in an alternate reality. Of course they were going to bring her back as fan service. And that's my point. Writers don't realize how detrimental multiple timelines can be to main events. It's not like the series Dark, where time travel is used to cause an intriguing narrative, and not keep characters you like alive. I hope I am wrong on judging LiS Double Exposure this early but man, come on! If they are going to bring back Chloe she'd better be the Chloe from Max's reality and not from another one.
    I was looking forward to a LiS proper sequel, one that showed Max's and Chloe's relationship. (and again, this is my opinion, and I know that not what I want is what everyone else also wants). I wanted to follow them and see where they were. how were they both healing from their trauma? Or how are they getting along? We know that there's not a happily ever after. Relationships have problems and require constant work to keep them alive. I wanted to see if Max and Chloe could keep their new relationship or not, and why. were they able to heal? Or did they found out that, even though they care deeply for each other, they were too different fundamentally to stay together? Did their perception of life change? did they learn anything? I think Double Expose will touch on these questions, but, God! I really hope they leave the multiple timelines BS out of the main narrative or at least keep them at a minimum.
