Sarcoidosis Genetics 101

Natalia Rivera, PhD, is a geneticist with a specialized focus on the genetics and genomics of sarcoidosis, and she possesses extensive expertise in the study of complex human diseases. Appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2018, Dr. Rivera has since dedicated her research to advancing the understanding of sarcoidosis genetics across various populations and identifying relevant biomarkers. She established the Multi-Ethnic Sarcoidosis Genomics Consortium (MESARGEN), which encompasses well-characterized population cohorts aimed at cataloging genetic variations in sarcoidosis on a global scale. Additionally, her research interests include the epigenetics of sarcoidosis.
