Thought 'No way!' several times, but it did split everything you put on it. Quite impressed. I have 7 ton electric and it can't go through knots - only around them. Your is definetely more powerful.
Likely also dependent on wood species. I'm sure there's some impossible to split hardwoods that just aren't in my area. I've split red oak, white oak, hickory, sassafras, and red maple.
I almost bought one of these but ended up getting a Yardmax 9 ton instead. Both seem to be great electric options. I wish my 9 ton was taller like yours. I also like the catch trays on yours.
Yes, very comfortable splitting height is worth it, even having to lift the logs up to it. The side trays are great... It's just enough room to hold half a log while splitting the other half.
I have a Harbor Freight 5 ton splitter that is around 10 years old. If it ever craps out, I am going to get one like yours! BTW, how much does it cost?
Thank yoou for the video. How fast is it for a one way split? Only suggestion would have been to eliminate the music. I would rather have heard the machine work than the music.
18 seconds for the full 20.5" length. Less if you're splitting only 16". And easy split stuff that splits right away you can back it up and only taking 5 seconds or so.

It's not too loud but I prefer to wear ear protection. It does not come with ear protection. The manual states to wear ear protection. But does not say how many decibels.
