Don’t believe this guy. Yeah dude why would u ever want to live on the beach, look at these terrible views *proceeds to put camera on the one price of trash he finds. Literally what u did. I’ve gone to vail so many years for skiing and it’s amazing. U act like that interstate is a football stadium (it’s not) if ur in the town u actually feel like ur in a beautiful town next to an amazing mtn. When I’m there I don’t see a car in sight and I feel like I’m out in the country. The town is amazing at night and the mountain has some of the best skiing in the world. I agree though, it’s expensive af but it’s worth it though. The interstate is not even noticeable. No shit u can here it when ur standing on the god damn high way
Oh you have been to Vail? Well then never mind inwas wrong, I know nothing from living there. Try living in any other mtn town. Here you wake up and see condos and buildings, the mountains are drowned out by condos. I don't think you lived in the country, because the country is not full of condos. I would rather have the views of waking up next to lake Dillon and seeing the lake with the mountains towering above it.
Bruh, dont be sad. Living their looks awesome, you can ski and stuff, beautifull nature. Where I life it just rains, is flat, cold and you cant ski in a 500 miles radius.
You must have lived in a real city. Its much quieter in Vail with i70 than in DFW with iYourName it going through. Summer is lauder, cars drive faster. Winter is pretty quiet. Once leaves are in or lots of snow, it dampens the sound quite a bit.
He’s just a hater, everywhere has pro’s and con’s. Yes I-70 runs thru it, but road noise wasn’t a big deal. Summit county is higher altitude and colder year-round, and skiing doesn’t compare to Vail, also a very short summer over there. I lived in Vail for thirty years and loved it.
They can install tire dampening roads made of rubber composite, expensive upkeep but Keep the noise down. The noise is generated from the tires bouncing off the road
The mountain peaks of vail are way more beautiful than almost any mountain town. Views from up in the hills looking at vail mountain are stunning. Aspen has Highway 82 that many homes look at and the traffic and congestion there is terrible. Everyone knows summit county is where the cheaper and more affordable ski resorts are. Vail real estate is some of the most expensive in the world and there’s a reason why. No town matches up to the how unique the village is. You’re just mad that it would take you 20 years of working to afford a 300sq ft studio condo in east vail.
Yeah... I lived in vail for a while, had a good place, but then moved to summit and realized what a POS vail was. Why would I want to live and listen to the interstate, when I can live next to the lake and enjoy the views of the mountains on the lake, go skiing and be able to ski straight to my car door straight from the top, and just have good views all around. Who would want to live in a fake village when you can live next to the lake.
Summit county has the heaviest and loudest I-70 congestion and noise out of any place in Colorado. You obviously lived in employee housing so of course it’s gonna be shitty employee housing is not made to be nice lol. If you actually had a nice place you wouldn’t be complaining because homes up in the hills have the most beautiful views in Colorado
I never lived in employee housing, had decent condo close to nightlife, walking distance from most things.. I liked to sleep with the window open so when I opened it all I heard was the roaring of I 70 bouncing off the mountain sides, when I went hiking above vail on either side all I heard was the roar from i70, eventually I sold that got out of there and now sleep and hike in peace. You are proving my point that people pay too money to live in a crazy hole.. when they could have better views and hiking/biking/boating activities out there front door instead of a load roaring interstate. Enjoy your crappy view
You must have had the crappiest condo in vail possible because you seem like the type of guy that doesn’t make more than 50k a year so idk even know how u were able to be there in the first place. Enjoy ur hordes of front range people and poor property values. Properties in vail will continue to double while that shitty area doesn’t even grow 5%. Also enjoy the busiest part of I-70 because everyone knows the most traffic and congestion occurs in summit county :)
Right.. I had to drive more when I lived in vail then I do now that I live in summit. I can walk from my house straight to the lake and go kayaking and explore all the islands and coves, float down the river, bike or walk to get groceries, get on trails that take me all over right outside my house.
Hey, how did you like your long lift lines last week? I bet that was fun.. you know I enjoy skiing in knee deep fresh powder and then getting into the lift within 4 minutes.. that's nice.. keep your Vail.
Lmao. Why would you try to change a town that’s not worth fixing. Why would you even try to fix a shitty town in the first place? What does your comment even mean? Like you go to a crappy neighborhood and say I don’t like this. I’m going to turn it into a WONDERFUL neighborhood for no reason at all!
Im currently thinking about moving to Vail from the UK buying a house near the top of a mountain. Town looks like it has some nice places. A town where privacy is valued. If anyone knows of another town in colorado i should look at id appreciate ideas.
I love vail, I lived right next to mountain and ski lifts. My uncle owned the building but it was a multi million dollar condo with Mountain View’s and no interstate noise
Ohh. at least I don't live in a crappy town like Vail anymore, or down in Denver.. I just mess around on here. My other channel is a little bigger at 13,000 subs... and there is a good chance you watched one of its videos, maybe liked it.. you might not of know that it was also me.
It's funny that a flatlander is sticking up for Vail. That town does not care about you or like you, in fact they hate you. People living there and working there smile and take your money, then make fun of the flat landers and gappers coming to visit them.. I mean everyone, they really hate the tourist there, I was a local there for a while, I know the the things they do to take your money and mess with you.. and yet you are sticking up for them. Well almost any mountain town does that.. the one i live in now does that.. but Vail is the worst.
The interstate is not nearly as big a problem as the housing crisis/inflated rent and all the liberal loons. Those are the only two real problems. But you are right to say sarcastically that vail resorts is the greatest employer there is. I worked for VRI for several years and i have shown more respect to bowel movements than that company has for its employees.
I never had the pleasure of working for Vail resorts, but I have heard many stories about it. People that quit and work at Copper or A basin are so much happier than they where in Vail. I had a friend who work for Keystone and was on his way to the company Christmas party when some guy cut in front of him in the parking lot, he almost hit him. He yelled at the guy, then went inside, they guy turned out to be a top dog for Keystone.. the next day he didn't have a Job.
That is where you hear it screaming, you can hear at both hiking trail, both close and far away. I lived and worked for a while in that town. You hear ot everywhere. There is a reason why the citizens are always try to cover it or put it underground. But the main reason it's a crappy place to live is because the view is horrible. Wake up, look across the valley at the condos. It's a thin long valley of condos. Summit is way better, wake up look at the wide valley and mountains reflecting on beautiful Lake dillon. I moved to vail for 6 months.. worst 6 months of my 30 years in Colorado.
Regardless if you sound proof your home, you will always have the view of condos in that narrow Valley. The view is the worst there. Also if you can't hear it then why are there multiple Vail daily articles about noise pollution in Vail and a ton of complaints from citizens there. Face it vail is just a horrible place to live.
I did live in Vail for a while, after I got tired of it I tried out summit. Way better view living on Lake dillon then you can get in Vail. I would rather live in Denver then ever move back to Vail.
He seems butt hurt by something. Let’s be real there are a lot worse places to live in this country than a world class ski resort town. Kinda felt bad for the guy.
I don’t live in Vail, but I visit there a lot. One flaw you missed, the locals treat you like you did something horrible. The Grocery Store next to Mai Palace on the other side of Gore Creek is a great example, they treat you like dogs. Another example is this one walmart a couple miles away, they again treat you like dogs. They don’t even wave to you in their car. The only nice people you will meet are tourists.
I remember coming into Vail about three years ago and I had a pretty poor attitude as I stepped off the bus. This was my final destination of a trip I did not want to take in order to make a long story short. I said somethings you could consider condescending and snarky about the town sort of like the narrator in this video. Then all of a sudden some middle aged guy in his late 50's pulled up in some sort of "Rat rod" confounded contraption that Boomers take joy in endangering the public with while on public roads. He must of heard me from across the parking lot as I stepped off the train speaking loudly to myself The man that stepped out of what was a jalopy in my eyes introduced himself as "James". Before I could even introduce myself he said he would take me to what was the former Fruit of the Loom factory and proceeded to "sock me up" till my toes no longer felt the blistering cold of that Colorado winter. He said he hoped that after he socked me up my attitude would change about the area. Only thing I remember other than his first name was the last initial of his last name started with an H thanks to a douchey self serving personal license plate on his "rod". I left the town as soon as possible after this encounter and would advise anyone else to do the same if they end up in similar circumstances.
If you live in West Vail near inner mountain: Bellflower, Kinnickinick, Bassingdale or Snowberry you will not hear I-70. Also, if you live in East Vail off Main Gore Dr, Juniper, Meadow Dr you will not hear traffic either, you did not mention this. Yes I-70 does pass right though the town, but you do get used to it. Also, you are completely wrong about hearing the traffic when hiking as it "takes a few miles to get away from the roar". You only have to hike a quarter to a half mile on the trail you showed: Pitkin. As for the other hiking trails: Booth/Bighorn it is the same. On Deluge and Gore Creek trails you won't hear any traffic from the beginning. Get your facts straight before posting a video like this, or better yet, just stay in Summit county!
Hahaha. I have been to those areas and you can still hear I 70 it does not scream like it does in other parts.. but there is still a nice hum.. also if you get used to it why does the town want to cover I 70? A new proposal on how to hide I 70 come out every 5 years. Those trail heads still have a nice hum on them. But the sound of I 70 is not the worst part of Vail.. it's the view and the fact that half the town lives in a shadow for a good part of the day.. in Vail you wake up and you look out your window and you see the other side of the valley and the I 70.. no beautiful open view of the mountains, no lakes, just some condos and the interstate. I will stay out of Vail.. what reason would I have to come there? Ohh maybe I could Vist one of the restaurants or shops they have there, because no other town in Colorado has those... oh wait. Nvm.
You’re completely wrong. I have been staying by the interstate, which you brought up probably 1,000 times, and the noise is really not a problem. I also played at the vail golf course yesterday actually, and I never even heard the cars.
Yeah Vail is a giant load of shit. Just waking up and all you see is a depressed valley full of condos and an interstate.. take the move like I did.. I got out and found better quality of life in any other mountain town

What’s the vail bar scene look like?
But op you are pretty much spot on. I have no idea why vail real estate is so fucking expensive
It's amazing how u in US live close to heavy traffic roads. Looks like u really love that noise.
You can't really hear it I live here and you just need good insulation you won't hear anything
Great video and you make valid points for sure. The skiing industry drives the valley and that's about it.I-70 just gives"unfortunate easy access" to the valley not only for trucking obviously, but the ugly masses from Denver.
I come here with a neutral opinion, genuinely trying to find a nice place to live in the mountains. Any recommendations?
what do you do? what's your budget?

Not Vail
Just visited there in June looking for a place to spend some retirement time. Rode up Bald Mtn. from Vail Stables. It was quiet up there and beautiful. But I get the feeling its a clicky place filled with bratty self-important nouveau riche. Really didn't like the interstate in everyone's backyard.
Was that on Son Of Middle Creek? Spraddle Creek road? Or Red Sandstone road?
Jesus Christ I was thinking of retiring there this summer! Thank God I found this video. Sure, I've been there a lot to ski, but this was a shocker. Any ideas?
Vail isn’t terrible, keep in mind this is only his opinion
@Teresa Mack or you can be in a denial state about living in a shithole you spent to much money on, or you could be living anywhere else. I know its rough, but you can break through the denial like i did and move elsewhere. You will be glad you did. Maybe stop denying climate change as well while your at it
@Roger T Groh at least he is not stuck in a denial state like you. You can deny, you can change your mind, it's going to be okay. Just accept it, any other mountain town is way better.
The point here is then, why do so many want to live there? Must not mind the interstate.
Probably live there because of the interstate.
As someone who lived off the 70 in Vail. I never heard one car go by.
then you're full of shit aren't you
I'm sure any resort town/city would be on the bottom half of the worst cities list.
Not exactly, Vail is just a shit show
this coming from summit news
239 dollars/ticket in April,before taxes.
Never change man
He’s just a hater, everywhere has pro’s and con’s. Yes I-70 runs thru it, but road noise wasn’t a big deal. Summit county is higher altitude and colder year-round, and skiing doesn’t compare to Vail, also a very short summer over there. I lived in Vail for thirty years and loved it.
Yep. It's true.
They can install tire dampening roads made of rubber composite, expensive upkeep but Keep the noise down. The noise is generated from the tires bouncing off the road
Rubber engines too!
Yeah this is why it’s so cheap to live there 😩 lol
bwalsh1105 it’s expensive af
Mattias Jones r/whoosh ......you don’t say
“LiVe NeXT tO THe LAke”, there’s a reason why you were able to afford that area and why it’s so dirt cheap compared to vail
Have fun driving to do anything and dodging cars in town, Summit boy😂
Right.. I had to drive more when I lived in vail then I do now that I live in summit. I can walk from my house straight to the lake and go kayaking and explore all the islands and coves, float down the river, bike or walk to get groceries, get on trails that take me all over right outside my house.
I'm not going to stop commenting on this video, sorry.
Hey, how did you like your long lift lines last week? I bet that was fun.. you know I enjoy skiing in knee deep fresh powder and then getting into the lift within 4 minutes.. that's nice.. keep your Vail.
you're not going to stop being a stupid fuckin bitch are you. Didn't think so
lmao coming from wisconsin that horrible ugly valley looks pretty nice
this was epic
Hah, everyone's so touchy over this guys opinion, chill, it does look awful- I don't blame ya.
sognametal the only view you have in Vail is the interstate and a hill side full of condo buildings
If you hate it so much, why don't you do something about it?
Lmao. Why would you try to change a town that’s not worth fixing. Why would you even try to fix a shitty town in the first place? What does your comment even mean? Like you go to a crappy neighborhood and say I don’t like this. I’m going to turn it into a WONDERFUL neighborhood for no reason at all!
Don’t worry we will be flying cars soon anyway or at least electric cars won’t be loud
Sound from interstates don’t come from the engines, it comes from the tires hitting the road and air going by at high speeds
Yeaugh it's nice and all............but NO WAY would I ever move there. TOO EXPENSIVE!!
A lot of demons up there!!!
Im currently thinking about moving to Vail from the UK buying a house near the top of a mountain.
Town looks like it has some nice places.
A town where privacy is valued.
If anyone knows of another town in colorado i should look at id appreciate ideas.
Nederland is it for you.🤫
I love vail, I lived right next to mountain and ski lifts. My uncle owned the building but it was a multi million dollar condo with Mountain View’s and no interstate noise
No wonder you only have 34 subs
Ohh. at least I don't live in a crappy town like Vail anymore, or down in Denver.. I just mess around on here. My other channel is a little bigger at 13,000 subs... and there is a good chance you watched one of its videos, maybe liked it.. you might not of know that it was also me.
👉🏿👌🏿
OK BOOMER
It's funny that a flatlander is sticking up for Vail. That town does not care about you or like you, in fact they hate you. People living there and working there smile and take your money, then make fun of the flat landers and gappers coming to visit them.. I mean everyone, they really hate the tourist there, I was a local there for a while, I know the the things they do to take your money and mess with you.. and yet you are sticking up for them. Well almost any mountain town does that.. the one i live in now does that.. but Vail is the worst.
@@TheSummitNews Where do you live now?
Fully agree!!! Fail...the adventures of a lift line. Fail....the flattest place on earth!!
Hilarious
Keep in mind the only place you could hear the interstate was while he was standing above it. This is stupid.
No you cant
Regardless if you sound proof your home, you will always have the view of condos in that narrow Valley. The view is the worst there. Also if you can't hear it then why are there multiple Vail daily articles about noise pollution in Vail and a ton of complaints from citizens there. Face it vail is just a horrible place to live.
Clearly you dont live there. Do you? Because I do, and it is the best place ever.
I did live in Vail for a while, after I got tired of it I tried out summit. Way better view living on Lake dillon then you can get in Vail. I would rather live in Denver then ever move back to Vail.
Such a crybaby
Spoken like a true hater lol
He seems butt hurt by something. Let’s be real there are a lot worse places to live in this country than a world class ski resort town. Kinda felt bad for the guy.
Or a truth teller speaking the obvious.
Dogs. How ?
You are so right! It is not beautiful and it is like Disneyland - fake. Do not get the appeal to so many.
Ohh maybe I could Vist one of the restaurants or shops they have there, because no other town in Colorado has those... oh wait. Nvm.
If you love the view of condos in a depressing valley.. sure
You’re completely wrong. I have been staying by the interstate, which you brought up probably 1,000 times, and the noise is really not a problem. I also played at the vail golf course yesterday actually, and I never even heard the cars.
You should get your hearing checked
This video summed up the thoughts I had when I first drove past Vail, too funny....
Lmao
😁 but it's fun to visit.
I live In Vail and this a giant load of shit!
Yeah Vail is a giant load of shit. Just waking up and all you see is a depressed valley full of condos and an interstate.. take the move like I did.. I got out and found better quality of life in any other mountain town
Your the “locals” I’m from a nearby ski town, it’s literally a interstate gas station with condos designed to be a rip off Santa’s workshop 💀

You ruined Vail for me.
Vail is utter trash
pls explain why, i'm genuinely trying to figure out where to move to next :/
