I know that sounds stupid in 2023 but like in 2006 I was that kid remembering all of that information and spouting it back ,and kids thought I was a River of information 😂
There were animated versions of Dane cooks standup and I remembered all of those and would tell those jokes on the playground or at the pool 😂

I wish I could've been aware of how special it was at the time. The feeling of excitement over holiday items like the scythe or scarves lol.. Life as a whole felt so different back then.

If only we had multi clans in F2P, those were the best times. Teams of every combat bracket fighting each other at ditch, hill giants, and altar. It was still active in OS up until late 2019, but updates such as new account restrictions for trade and friends chat led to it dying out.

Man.. rip Old Nite.. crazy how long ago that was now.. immortalized in a game that meant everything to him, only to watch the wilderness slowly fade and RuneScape slowly die. Old Nite will still be there even after we are all gone.
Old nite wasnt a big pker, he was a high scores chaser. He was number one for years on highschores....if I remember correctly.

This is probably a major reason why RS rarely retains young players. I remember begging my mom for her credit card to let me be a member back in 05-06 and she never caved. Game gets pretty boring once u discover everything. Only incentive at that point is the social aspect and pking but f2p pk loot is total garbage, so....

The sad part is, I just returned to osrs this week from the last time having played being in 2015. I can’t even tell if this video is satire or being serious.. lol are everyone bots??

It’s lame that Jagex restricted F2P accounts from the beginning. Even in February 2015 upon permanent free to play’s release, F2P accounts couldn’t trade for 24 in game hours and all stackable items PKed in the wilderness were reduced to 1 of each. For example if the guy you PKed had 100 Chaos Rune, but hadn’t played 24 in game hours, you would only get 1 Chaos Rune as the PKer (even if you as the PKer played 24+ in-game hours)
Later on, Jagex made all these restrictions for new accounts;
May 2018; 150 total to enter friends chat
April 2020; 100 total / 10 QP / 20 in game hours for unrestricted trade.
They were supposed to stop bots, but all they did was hurt real players whenever they make a new account and kill low level F2P PKing, which then affected med-high level wilderness PKing, too. And they don’t even stop the bots; evidenced by the large number of bots with high boss KC and lots of post-99 XP like in the case of Hunter bots.
Yeah its the cheap, low effort way to "reduce" botting. Instead of actually hiring more people and expending money. Short term income is all they care.

These bots seem to have a weakness if you scout them before entering the cave in the wild then them tb them and then g maul couple of times them the bots then break if you watch the closely you see it just automated bots and using auto pray every single entangle and it one ticks every single entangle and every single mage to you

The wildy is dead because there isn't any meaningful multi content. Even when there is multi content Jagex is too afraid to make it true multi nor impactful in any way because they care too much about PVMers and solo players. Imagine if GWD, Nex, TOB, COX, or TOA was in deep wild with full multi, and private instances were not a thing. Anyone can jump in, scout you out, and come gank your party. The wildy would be insanely populated, and the economy would be far more stable because people aren't safely farming hundreds of mills per hour while risking absolutely nothing in return.
This needs way way way more upvotes. That's a great idea. There should at least be elite bosses designated to specific areas where multi is allowed. And then they could designate some solo-able bosses to non-multi wildy. It would at least increase RS population
