  • Muhammad Ali receives a replacement medal for the one he lost from the 1960 Games of Rome from Juan Antonio Samaranch. Does anyone know what he says to Charles Barkely? Hosted by Bob Costas at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta during halftime of the US vs. Yugoslavia Bastketball game August 3rd, 1996.

The Greatest Ionic figure of modern history! We see Ali as a world class boxer. We can
study Ali and see he was one of the greatest psychologist,Poet and Entertainer. What an incredibly talented and intelligent man from a very young age. Trinidad and Tobago loved Ali and broadcast or televised his fights. Those were the days when a boxer was an artist in the ring, crafty (Art of deception) and skillful. Today boxers are fighters, most have not develop the footworks, hip and upper body movement, rhythm or timing to fully master the art. It has been years since I seen a great entertaining boxing match. We have missed Muhammad Ali for such a long time, as his voice was beautiful and a great strength to us all. We have lost many of our public figures the last few years. The world was made greater because of Ali, and forever grateful He stepped forward and lead us in that direction, for we had no inclination he was taking us on this magnificent journey.
    Thank You Champ! The G. O. A. T.

Muhammad, you kept us alive for so long, and I wished you could of been Champion forever. from the day I took the sip of water out of the fountain at school in the afternoon, in 1964, when I kid yelled " Cassius Clay is fighting Sonny Liston Tonight, to the " Rumble in the Jungle" beating George Foreman. You did shake up the world, and you were funny. Today is November 2016, and I miss you so much my friend. you will be truly missed!! Gone, but not forgotten !!

What speaks volumes is not the fact that American media and athletes celebrated this but that the Yugoslavian basketball players sought out the opportunity too. Ali, was, is and will only ever be the truest of all global athletes. Epic!

I grew up as a boy listening to Ali's fights on a transistor radio in bed, past my bedtime, in the days before cable and pay per view. When we would have to wait weeks for the fight to be rebroadcast on television. I can't help but cry every time I see him at these kind of ceremonies. For to see the human who was the epitome of speed, grace, endurance, courage stripped of his physical prowess and verbal quickness is sobering reminder of the spiritual lessons he himself always preached.
