- After a 2 hour mini Road trip from Sonora to Auburn California, I arrived at Auburn State Recreation Area. Perfect weather and stunning views of the American River, confirmed what I already knew. This adventure was definitely with the drive.
I rode just under 9 miles on this ride with about 1300 feet of elevation change. After paying my 10 dollar day pass fee, and battling for parking for 30 minutes, I set out on Clementine trail. It was a scenic climb along the river on the way up to clementine road. in total, I started this ride with about three miles of climbing before I made it to Fuel Break Trail. I still had a bit more climbing to do on Fuel break before making it to Culvert Trail. Culvert is where I finally got to experience some negative elevation in the form of sweeping berms and flowing single track. This was my favourite trail on today's ride despite the dark, sketchy tunnel it's named after. To finish up the ride, I sent it down Confluence Trail. It was really scenic and even offered optional features and rocky sections to mix it up. There are a few high exposure areas on confluence that could easily land you in the American River if you're not mindful. Overall this was a fantastic trail with over 500 ft of amazing descent.
Before calling it a day, I made my way down to the rocky river bank for some awesome views and a bit of drone filming.
I would definitely say this is one of my favourite mountain biking destinations in Northern California and I absolutely can't wait to ride here again. a bit of advice would be to come here during the week and get here early to find parking. I arrived on a sunday morning and the place was packed. Also, be cautious of hikers as the trails were very congested on the day that I went.
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to like and sub!

great video Chenzo!... I'd say it is the best and my favorite!... keep on keeping on brother!
Hey thanks! Will do. I appreciate the support! 😂🙌
Trail sounds are relaxing brother
Killer flow and speed with some gorgeous shots. Well done on the intro as well.
Hey thanks bro! 😎🙌
@@ChenzosWorld by the way, thanks for the sub.
@@MTBKingLife your welcome 🙌
Cool video! I love living in Auburn
Thanks. It’s beautiful out there 😎
dope video bro
Thanks homie 😎🙌
I liked the drone shots close to the river. I usually take mine up higher. I’ll have to do that next time. 👍
Thanks man. Those low shots over water really stress me out but it’s worth it for the view. 😎🤟
Love the clips mi amigo🤙🏽🤙🏽. Definitely that’s in my list. Looks so beautiful out there. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Thanks bro. It’s a great ride. You would enjoy it 😎🤙
Lots of free parking NOT at the confluence. You also won’t have to fight for spots either. Bottom of culvert there are some dirt pullouts that are free. Plus from there you can hit the OHV area trails, stonewall, Rocky, eastside DH, and grizzly.
Awesome. Thanks for the info! 🙌
Lots of flowy goodness- even the tunnel! Your river drone footage is cinematic gold! Do you still feel worried flying over water?
Thanks bro. I’ve gotten over my water-drone-aphobia for now but I still manage to stress myself out by flying super low over the water. 😬
Chenzo! Dope vid homie! Yo did move out of Texas?
Hey thanks bro! No I’m in Cali for work for the next few months
@@ChenzosWorld word! You coming down to SoCal? If so let me know so I can show you around and take you to the local spots!
@@marklopez5267 I’m hoping to make it out there in the spring. I’ll take you up on that offer! Shoot me an email with your info and we can plan something

Sweet ride! How many miles is that loop?
Thanks. Almost 9 miles total
Would the be the best route or would you suggest another now after riding it?
It’s the best route as far as I know. The only route better would be to shuttle up to the point where I met the other riders before Fuel Break… outside of that I think this route is solid and the climb is fairly mellow
… and the dirt out here in Nevada City is perfect BTW.. Headin out on the second lap as we speak 🤟
@@ChenzosWorld Looking forward to the video, we are going to head there next week.
@@micheleguthrie9631 I would definitely recommend riding the new trail Talon Show if you haven’t already. It was really fun… I rode Hoot then Talon Show. It was about 10 miles altogether and awesome ride 🤙
