my friends son was almost mauled to death by the pitbull that they raised in a loving home from 8 weeks old, he torn her sons lip and ear off, tried to bite his neck and ripped through muscle to the bone of his legs and arm, it took her husband to stomp the dog to get him to release her son, and the craziest thing is the boy never screamed cried or yelled out for help, his grandmother happened to be in the yard on the side of the house and heard a weird noise, went to check it out thinking it was the other 2 boys fooling around and saw the dog doing some weird movements, as she got closer she saw her grandson laying in a fetal position and the dog was chewing him up, had she not responded when she did he would be dead, 216 stitches, reconstructive surgery and physical therapy and he is almost back to his old self, needless to say he is now terrified of all dogs...Pits are not Pets,, sorry not sorry.

I was 7 and went out to pet him and the next thing ya know, he is on top of me trying to kill me. My mom came out and got him off of me. 105 stitches later, my head was split open from falling backwards on the cement sidewalk, my face was ripped open, ear was torn loose, shoulder ripped open. I am now 61 and still remember it like it was yesterday. I pray for this child to heal emotionally. 🙏 I also pray for this officer’s child’s healing having witnessed this tragedy .

Our town banned pits because a couple of them killed a 1-2 year old that lived in the same home. The dogs were outside in a kennel or pin, the kid got out unsupervised at about 6:30 or 7am, parents still sleeping, and somehow the dogs pulled the baby into the pin and treated it like a rag doll (as stated in news articles).
The people were rumored to be raising these dogs to be aggressive, possibly fighting them.
Instead of the parents getting child neglect and endangerment charges the city helped them fix up their house. I couldn't believe it!!!!
People secretly have pits in our town now, and some are wanting the ban reversed. I do feel a bit safer with the ban. I just wish everyone can be responsible dog owners.

But we have vivisection labs, dog fighting rings (which judges, police chiefs, and politicians are involved with), factory farms, slaughterhouses, just to name a fraction of our crimes against other sentient beings. We orchestrated the fall. The animals are always victims of us, but most people don't tend to see it unless it comes back around and bites them on their self-centered butts.

Not the brightest breed, some can have a temper. But, at the end of the day, it's the owner that's the cause of most "bad dogs". Collies herd, pointers point, pits bite. If anyone had any respect for this breed this wouldn't be constantly happening. But when the shit hit the fan, she stepped up & DID save her child’s life & when faced with that life or death situation, she SACKED UP & made sure her kid made it out alive. Poor choice having the dogs there in the first place? YES, that was a bad decision. But she made a split second decision when shit went sideways & YES she did save her child’s life & paid with her own. That’s a parent that sacrificed herself to make sure her child lived. Not many people would have their head on tight in that situation enough to make that split second life or death decision. Hero?? I am not sure about that, but when a parent is faced with that situation instincts kick in. She is dead, but her child is still alive. That takes some Brass Balls & Dedication & Sacrifice. Within about 4 seconds my brain told me the only chance i had was to let one bite my cast, one bite my leg and kill the third first with a knife. Before killing the other 2. Once i knew the plan i reached in to my pocket slowly as the circle got smaller. And just as i was about to pull it out and go into action the owner came running screaming NO DONT. As i walked past him i said "start looking for a new place" and he moved out a week later with his 3 dogs. I will never forget that day. @Robin Bullock that's because pitbull haters aren't using any logic and facts. Rather than focusing on the most popular large breed, pitbull haters should be against all large breeds. It's a numbers game, if the majority of dogs on the street are German shepherds, rotts or labradors, they will be the ones responsible for the most attacks and deaths. All large breeds are dangerous. Pitbull haters are like racists who think black people are dangerous but in reality, nobody is really that dangerous, there is no murder epidemic, and they're just scared because of the media or their own inbred racism.

Since everyone reporting on this story DANCED around actually naming the BREED of the dog(s) involved, I'm forced to conclude that they were some type of PITBULL or close variant.
Reporters: Do your Fcuking jobs. Transparency and ALL the information is your DUTY as JOURNALISTS, or you don't get to call yourselves that.
The problem remains: Pitbulls are DEADLY, once triggered, they revert to their massive physical abilities and can maim and kill in mere SECONDS.
I don't want to hear from pinheads who will attempt to negate my post with their broken record whines about how "it's not the dog, it's the training and owner' bullcrap. We all agree that normal disposition is determined, of course, by that. But, what fails to sink in to you hard-heads is that once a Pit type is triggered, it has the absolute ability to rip faces and appendages off, and kill human beings.
Banning this breed is the only way we can STOP needless deaths and maimings.
All breeds with the capability or historical breeding to protect and kill and with physical traits to do so should be banned, for our children's sake, at least.
