    OrthoBalance - It is awesome to hear someone explain in a very effective & efficient way, how natural movement can be beneficial to our bodies. I have been practicing Ninpo for many years, everything I do has become a practice from doing techniques in my head, picking things up, opening & closing doors & just walking around (~~Walking~~being one of my most mindful practices). Hope to one day see you at a seminar.

    Great video! I would like to see more posts like this with a blend of your understanding of Hatsumi's movement through the lens of your profession. Thank you for sharing!

    One brilliancy about Hatsumi´s movement is that it emphazises use of bodypower instead of musclepower to say it so directly as possible. Yet in our society of today we still see so many people emphazising on raw musclestrength allthough it wears them up fast. All kinds of physical labour does that and the even more bad thing about it is that there is no kind of physical training, exercise or therapy that can counteract against it.

    Its realy amazing how he moves with 88 years! No Taiji masters are able to move nearly like that if they even get that old.

    nice explanation of the use of the lordosis...
    In chinese martial art also in taiji and in Qi Gong, they often talk about the use of the mingmeng, in englisch: closed door, which you must be able to open and close. You gain that ability through Qi Gong or form practice.
    You should study taiji, to learn about that kind of soft power from the spine.. also it dosen't just come from the spine, but also from opening the joints and extension and streching. I don't think any other martial art, stresses soft power more then taiji.
    It's very interessting to see simalr principles in japnese martial arts.. :) I'm a big fan of Masaaki Hatsumi too. I wish I couold train with him .. ^^

    You can explain it scientifically as much as you want, but it’s still horrible movement. It does not generate power, is off balance and highly impractical. Any serious coach , instructor or practitioner can see this. Stop perpetuating bullshit. Someone could get hurt thinking they could defend themselves with this crap.

    • @active-balance
      @active-balance  Před 5 lety

      You obviously haven't been on the other end of Hatsumi's movement?

    • @georgekondylis6723
      @georgekondylis6723 Před 5 lety

      That is also part of the problem: Being on the end of his movement.. Any serious ma practitioner knows that getting a non compliant person into position to be at the end of the movement is 90 percent of the battle. If you allow anyone to overextend your arm while lunging and leading with your face, then a bunch of options become available. Get serious. Life is short. Stop wasting time with crap to feed your egos. Buckle down and learn a real martial art. Something that is truly time tested over generations, participates in competitions, and regularly spars hard. Somewhere where you gain real confidence from putting it on the line regularly over the years. Yeah, it’s stressful. Not as easy as hypothesizing and learning tricks from a grand bullshitter.

    NONE that has been proven in the MMA or any UFC venue

    • @Fantalic
      @Fantalic Před 5 lety +3

      First of all MMA is a sport and has nothing to do if a martial art is good or not. If you want a martial art to be proven, why don't you look at stuff, special forces and serious guys learn ? Also all chinese and japanese martail arts have proven themselfs on real battle fields and the knowledge of them are still used by real fighters. But a martial art don't have to prove itself, as long it has valuble knowledge. It's about if the practionar can use it.
      Why there are no MMA fighters using this kind of power? Well, there are rules, which make it harder and it's hard to cultivate and good teachers are rare. A lot of knowledge still not arrived in the west and also in china, a lot of knowledge has been lost. Only a very few kung fu master, who embodied all knowledge of a style existed after the revolution. But its growing again and spreading to the west. I think in a couple of years, you see guys who do a japanese or a chinese martial art also in MMA.

    • @NaturalMobility
      @NaturalMobility Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, none of it has been "proven" in the MMA world because it is not a sport. Hatsumi has taught to the CIA, FBI, & SAS to name a few military/law enforcement agencies that have given him their endorsement through letters of appreciation and invitations for training. I think that would provide just a hint more validity than someone who abandons 90% of the Bujinkan techniques to conform to the rules of fighting sports.
      Also, you are entitled to your opinion, but a lack of evidence can never disprove anything.

    • @aidenfletcher6503

      To answer that 1yes it has been proven by Steve jennum look up Steve jennum ninjitsu. 2 Jack hoban who trains the us military special forces FBI in ninjitsu unarmed combat . Hatsumi himself as also been to forth brag to teach the military and other defense agencies.

      There is a really simple reason why. No one smart enough to understand what Hatsumi or any other great master teaches, will go and destroy his health by fighting in a ring just to please a crowd of retards....
