Vložit
- čas přidán 17. 09. 2022
- If your hair takes FOREVER to AIR DRY and gets oily quickly, you probably have low-porosity hair and don't know how to take care of it.
Here's what you should know about PRODUCTS and DIY haircare.
1. A weekly clarifying shampoo.
2. Avoid heavy butter and don't use leave-in conditioners often
3. Use heat caps and hooded dryers for deep conditioning to help open your hair's cuticle up to absorb more moisture.

I have very dry hair even though it's low porosity
Same
Exactly!
same, they become so frizzy and i hate it so much. before the bowl test i was convinced my hair was high porosity but after the test i found out its actually low porosity. im so confused and idk what to do lol. i oil my hair weekly but its so frizzy, i just want to get rid of the frizz
@@jiminiefairy I’m in the same boat. We gotta get moisture locked in our hair somehow. I think running hair under warm water and apply conditioner directly after helps but maybe I’ll try the heated hair mask too
@@astroborne i recently started using aloevera gel after washing my hair and it made them look so healthy
In the water test, my hair just sits on top of the water. which indicates it's low porosity. But my hair dries very quickly, doesn't get oily.
Samee girllll
Same lol I'm confused rn
Maybe we have medium porosity or something..

Request: A video on VERY dry, frizzy, low porosity hair with ends that look like tumble weed no matter what you do to it.
P.S. When smoothed cold or hot, it is soft and silky, until exposed to the elements! And breaks easily after heat use.
Can you make a video on how to manage such hair?
My hair type
Oh my g- how did you you just describe the mess I’m dealing with too😂
@@tanatswamhandire5604 The struggle is real, I thought I was the only one!😅
I didn't tried yet but I saw that leave in conditionner is good for low porosity hair or hair that get frizzy easily because of a bit of friction or movement
Literally my hair 😂
My hair quickly air dries but it gets oily fast.
Exactly same issue
Me too
High perosity
Same here, did the strand test
@@nadiacruz268mine is the same but it's low porosity (I did the strand test)
It’s already hard to get moisture in so ppl will think they have high porosity when they see their hair always dry,use hotter water to open cuticles
I have a low porosity hair but my hair doesn't get oily or oily and doesn't take years to dry...but my hair is also dry and frizzy I'm bit confused
That could mean you’re not using the right products or routine making your hair dry. Try oiling before the shower and using hair masks weekly
Can you give us a hair care routine for low porosity hair
My hair gets oily in a day after getting shower.
Thank you for this! 😊
This is true because my mom is a hair dresser and the other day she was blow drying my hair and noticed I had a lot of build up and it was because my hair felt “waxy” so she said to use a clarifying shampoo every like 2-3 showers so I did and now my hair does not get oily as often as it used to and it is was less frizzy 😁👍🏼
Don't use leave ins often?? I have thin hair and if I don't use some sort of leave in my hair is dull looking
Can you please recommend specific products? That would be awesome 😍
Can you help me for dry, frezzy, weak, thin hair. My hair is tangly everytime, Eventough i use conditioner 😖😫🥺
I tried that water test to check the porosity of my hairs and it turned out to be low porosity hair but my hairs doesn't take forever to air dry , they just dry in enough amount of time quite quickly. So what am I supposed to believe and do now???
can we use a bentonite clay mask for the hair?
Will search the recommendation product and use it one by one.
my hair is very dry and frizzy but it gets oily very quickly
Same. Thin, frizzy hair, and gets oily very quickly.
Recommend shampoo and conditioner for low porosity type 1B hair pls
Can you make a product list for low prosity hair please ❤
Should you do a hot oil treatment on damp hair with a heat cap? Or would that be damaging
Thanks!
Can i mix heavy oils with light oils to benefit from both like in a 1:4 ratio????
You say weekly clarifying, but to avoid further drying my low moisture hair, I only wash my hair once a week, so am I supposed to clarify every time?
What’s the best hair oil??
She said that high porosity means dry hair need protein but I use rice water which contain protein and people say who have high porosity they don't have to use rice water because it's contain protein. can someone tell me about this?
people who have low porosity hair don't use products with protein because it can create buildup, rice water should be fine for high porosity
What Clarifying shampoo do you recommend? Please
Can I use sulphate containing clarifying shampoo once a week as I've low porosity hair?
Hii..
Can you tell what to do if you have scalp acne skin and have hairfall as well.. can one use rosemary oil?
I am so confused about my hair porosity. If someone has any idea please help. My hair doesn't dry too quickly however is frizzy, dry and damged. But when i tried to do the strand test my gair didn't sink to the bottom. A couple moths back i also used coconut oil and rice water in a weekly basis or so which leds me to believe i had a protein overload.
The you might have medium porosity hair
What if you have wavy hair and you need a curl cream or leave in conditioner?
Hi is there a heat cap you recommend
Changed my life
Should I avoid leave in conditioner ?
i put glycolic acid all over my scalp before i get in the shower to shampoo. my scalp has never felt cleaner, and i can go an extra day from 3 to 4 without oil. hair feels so soft too
can Low porosity hair use cold water to wash of conditioners?
My hair doesn't get oily very quickly but i tried the water test where you place a 3 inch hair stand in the glass to see if it floats or sinks. After 5 minutes my stand of hair was still floating so i assumed i have low porosity hair?
Can one single time close heat blowdry make severe damage?
Thank you
I don’t know why but my hair porosity is changing. What should I do know?
My hair is so frizzy and at its worst when damp what should I do?
Should low procity hair use rose merry water or oil plz 🙏tell.............
Ummm…. Wouldn’t being low porosity mean it would dry super fast, because the water isn’t getting inside the hair strand (which is a really good thing)?
Can i use pumpkin seed oil in my low porosity hair
I tried the 5 minute porosity test, 15 minutes later its still floating
Lmao same I tried it just today & yup it's still floating too😂❤
@@Carak28 yeah mine too but my hair didn get oily

Is 2 hours a long time?
My hair gets dry like very fast but I have low porosity hair now and Idk what to do. Like it wasn't low porosity before. Now it is. It was medium porosity before
Please names some product for this type of hair
My hair dry quickly are always freezy and dry, but my hair is low porosity is that normal ?
What about high porosity?
Hey I was wondering if you could make a vid on what conditioner you use
Silicone free conditioners because silicone builds up on hair strands

Well my hair dry quickly and doesn't get oily quickly but when i did water test it is low porosity but my hair are so frizzy and dry.... looking for ur reply 👁️👁️
My hair gets wet easily which I've been told is a sign of high porosity but it also takes forever (hours, especially the back of my head) to dry and is easily weighed down by product which is a sign of low porosity... I find I can go 3 days without shampooing before I feel like I need to and it tends to be pretty dry. It is bleached from a level 5 to a level 9 and I have thick strands with medium density.
my hair dries very slowly sometimes like 7 hours. The next day my hair is oily but the day after that it’s not oily at all. It only gets oily again after the 7/8th day of not washing. What porosity hair could this be?? I’m so confusedddd
edit: I have wavy hair
Pretty sure my hair is low porosity. It's shiny, slippery and never been bleached or heat treated. What I want to clarify though: my hair dries quickly anyways. It's very fine, so I need my water spray. Also, it loves protein. I find it a bit annoying that the hair types are described a bit stereotypical tbh 😅
Same dude😂
I was about to ask since I thought shorts can not be saved, but then I saw it
i don’t understand. my hair gets greasy quickly, and how long is forever to air dry? sometimes it takes 30 minutes sometimes over an hour. when i didn’t ever use heat, leave ins, oils, my hair looked stringy and dry. when i do, use leave ins, it feels and looks a little better. but when i did the water test, my hair floats. so what??
I have thick hair so it’s takes a long time to dry fully and my hair is oily after like 3 days after washing it
My hair air dries very quick and doesn't get oily even if I don't wash it 5 or 6 days but jet when doing the "porosity test" my hair is always floating on top of the glass
I have both and i hate it so much some parts of my hair likes coconut other parts dont. The top of my hair air dries in 10 mins and the longer lenght of the hair at the bottom of my head takes 7 hours to dry
Interesting I recently used Castile soap to wash my hair instead of mane n tail shampoo with no conditioner and my hair dried so much faster. Also It was extremely less tangled and I have hair down to my knees so that says a lot. I did put a tiny bit of jojoba oil in homemade shampoo and my hair was a bit greasy so I'm going to wash with out it next time
Sorry but I laugh when I see Mane n Tail shampoo mentioned. It's what I use on my horse occasionally and it throws me off when I see it in store.
Can you recommend some clarifying shampoos that will work well on dandruff prone hair?
suave daily clarifying works wonders for me!
Thanks!

My hair takes time to dry because it is thick but not oily
My hairs have but they dry very easily and is not oily at all
What about high porosity hair
Mine is VERY frizzy and it's low porosity. I think the products I used with protein made the frizz worse, and I'm experiencing some hair loss...
I had overload also Try to clarify your hair then do a cowash and a Green Tea rinse with rosemary, condition out Green tea. Then do a light oil treatment and a hair mask at the same time under heat. Your hair should feel better after mine did❤.
Edit: And try to stay away from products with heavy proteins, or clarify you hair more often. ❤
my hair doesn’t air dry quickly but my scalp doesn’t become greasy even after not washing hair fo 10 days i took porosity test my hair remained above the water what should i do now? plus my hair is dry

What shampoo do you recommend and a heat mask?
Shampoos that are silicone and sulfate free
My hair gets oily fast but leave in conditioner benefited me
I have frizzy hair
My hairs don’t dry in monsoon season they become super oily 😢
I have low porosity hair but my hair air dryers quick and doesn’t get oily quickly
My hair stays wet for very long but isn't oily
Mine takes forever to air dry but never gets oily
Mine too! My hair is naturally curly/wavy (lots of hair, but my individual hairs are very fine), and when I did the porosity test, my hair floated at the top. My hair doesn’t get oily either. I can go 4+ days without washing and it is still fine. Takes hoursssssss to air dry.
These videos about hair care never seem to apply to me, as I don’t seem to fit into any typical hair type.
What about smelly hair? Even after shampooing after a while it gets smelly. What is happening and how to solve it? Thanks
u can try washing them with shampoo twice, focus on cleaning the scalp. and try to avoid getting the conditioner in ur scalp. i oil my hair so i was dealing with this problem but after i started shampooing my hair twice i don't have that problem anymore
I had this when younger. Try Nizoral shampoo. I suffered for years and it all went in a couple of weeks. In my case it was seborrheic dermatitis.
@@jiminiefairyin one week , we should use only one time for clarifying shampoo than what about the other days ? use another shampoo?
But I have curly hair and low porosity , but leave in is important to manage my curly hair and get build up very easily so what can I do now?
Same problem here. 2b type curly hair and low porosity.
If I use serum oil it feels good just for a day. After that my hair becomes dry, sticky, and stiff.
Do you know any NO HEAT hack to dry low porosity hair faster?
I have Low porosity hair that takes forever to dry. However it doesn’t get oily fast. I wash my hair twice a week max and use no product. The only buildup I get is life grime.
Im just confused now haha. Another gal just said use leave in conditioner every night with low porosity hair type

Is Head & Shoulders shampoo good for low porosity hair?
Absolutely no

Same here 🤦🏻♀️
What do you recommend for people with curly hair who need some sort of a post wash product to hydrate and define curls but have low porosity hair?
Do you have Afro curly hair or non Afro curly hair if you have non Afro curly hair apply your products in the shower after you shampoo/conditioner Rinse your hair with warm water not cold so that the cuticle will stay open long enough for the products to absorb after applying products you can cover your hair with a shower cap and let it sit for 20 minutes or so so your hair has plenty time to absorb products then you can dry /style hair bonus tips add the products mid shaft to ends to avoid buildup on scalp and try to use products without silicone
@@joimonae4090 non-Afro curly hair. Thank you so much I’ll definitely try this! I remember I’d apply my leave in after rinsing my conditioner at one point which helped (not sure why I stopped) but I’ll try using the shower cap too 💗
@@joimonae4090 Those same rules apply to "Afro curly" hair as you call it.
@@KC-ed1dj I only asked that because non afro hair can get weighed down a lot easier
@joi monae Just thought people would like to know that all 3b and above hair is not created equal either. The same products don't work for every head of "Afro" hair.

What are heavey butters?
Yeah... You can't save these shorts into a playlist.
Hi you are so cute, i like to wash my hair with cool water
You didn't even mention the low porosity products...
Sometimes i want to just get a buzz cut
That advise doesn't work with girls who have wavy or curly hair. We need to use products in our hair.
Her advise are clear and work. You’re just not taking care of your hair properly. She said don’t put leave in too often. Which means don’t put too much as well. I only use a natural moisturizing gel and a leave in to define my curls and it works pretty well. Gestures make it all. You can put as much moisturizing gel as you want but only a very slight nut of leave in mixed in wet hands to apply on your hair, then do some finger rolls or coils and your hair will be beautiful. Don’t need anything more than this
uh no it does work. stop acting like wavy or curly hair is a whole different species’ hair. hair porosity matters 100x more than curl pattern.
@@lambsauce8937if she doesn't use products she will end up with frizzy hair
@@SkSk-gn1ut Can you tell me which ones you use 😅?
My hair dries super quickly AND gets very oily. Sounds like hooey to me
Low porosity hair doesnt get oily or wet easily tho...and it dries quickly.
NOPE
Low porosity hair dries quickly because it doesn't hold moisture. Just wanted to clarify that.
It takes longer to soak in moisture/get wet and takes longer to let go of moisture/air dry. I have low porosity hair.
I have mid oily hair frizzy thick hair
It takes mid time to air dry but if i dont use leave in products my hair gets even more frizzy and hard to work with
As promised
But before u give all this advice shouldnt u have good healthy hair for me to trust u?😂
