Amazing idea! Especially if you have a big build & are looking for ways to make it lighter! It would be easy to use spackle or joint compound, if where you put it is permanent. But the TP looks so realistic, Why do it any other way?

Mainly for the starter AL adventure for their campaign 2 years ago, but then the best of them kind of hung around as a representation of the spiritual weapon spell for a divine soul sorcerer that I was playing as a witch...

Rule 1 is awful, i frequently craft things directly from my imagination. Please anyone who is new to craft DO NOT LISTEN!!!! Instead take the time to learn about the things you are building, architecture, landscaping, water movement and erosion. If you want to just build a small cabin, and you want it to come out OK the first time around, then you can use references, but if your trying to get into crafting as a hobby, let your imagination run wild, recarve, repaint, and redo.

    • @DarkMatterWorkshop
      @DarkMatterWorkshop  Před 3 lety +1

Aha ! A different opinion! Love those !
Consider this video more as a test of the theory.
To base our artistic vision on reality.
It’s not my theory, it’s one in the art community.
Terrain crafting doesn’t have to be “art” .
But it is in fact what we are doing therefore it’s useful to listen to what established artists have to say. (Painters, sculptors, etc...)
Take everything with a grain of salt, You do you ! Have fun, experiment, grow !
Got an instagram I can check out ?
      Always ready to learn.

@@DarkMatterWorkshop alright, you got my sub man, your politness and attitude have won me over :) but im avid about people flexing their brains and stretching what reality is. If we hadn't done that in the past, we wouldn't have fantasy now lol.
Ty for the response but i do firmly believe that the people who have been in the hobby for a long time have less capacity for new ideas than neweler crafters who are just hitting the scene. Check out @creativedungeoncrafting on instagram he makes real time traps and such for his D&D stuff, i think his stuff is absolutely ground-breaking.

      You have a new follower!
      Please don’t misinterpret the ‘rule’
It doesn’t state that imagination isn’t important !
Only that we have to realize our creative vision by grounding it in reality.
We can imagine the most crazy stuff, but then we have to make it 😀 .
      That’s a totally different story.
I think the result speaks for itself too, plenty of to improve yes, but still, better.
What I’m saying is have fun, c ya on intsa !
