Character arc
Disney is nothing more of an empty shell of itself, and did we not learn anything from. South Park Enter The Panderverse? Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy ruined Disney along with all the shareholders who made said garbage. IMO, hard pass for me
It just looks lackluster. And Asha's personality is basically a copy paste of that of Rapunzel, Anna, and Mirabel. Not to mention even though she's black, she looks just like Moana, Isabella or Pocahontas.

Disney's track record of late doesn't instill much hope. Their reputation is tarnished and families are responding by keeping their money.

Honestly I'm glad that Disney's actually putting in the effort to include more POC characters, but this movie looks so unfinished. Even the poster in the Cinemas doesn't even look finished, like the villain's face looks more completed than his hands 😢

I agree with You on this Asuka. I saw a commercial for this movie and thought to myself "what the heck is this?" The way the animation looks is just....... definitely doesn't look like a Disney movie to Me........
I think the animation looks good to me, Asha almost looked like Isabella from Encanto and Asha looks like a good character. I also heard that the animators were inspired by the animation of Sleeping Beauty as they decided to add the watercolor look with computer animation and it sure looked good to me.

i saw a trailer for this at my local cinema. the animation quality looked good. i heard it looked bad on youtube because of the bitrate.

But...the film hasn't even come out yet. All we've seen are just some small clips. I don't understand why everyone is so hard on all these new movies. I get that Disney has it's flaws but this is a film that's original (something we don't see too often) and it's trying something new with the animation! Sure it might look different and weird but that in no way means it's bad. It might surprise us. Plus even if you're not a fan of the animation, you can at least appreciate the story, which might seem bland or boring to some, but again, we know almost nothing about this movie. It might really surprise us! And about the songs, while "I'm A Star" is definitely gonna be my least favorite song in this movie, I think "Welcome to Rosas" sounds really lovely and OH. MY. GOD. "This Wish" had me fangirling after I heard it, I think it's so pretty!! It definitely blew me out of the water and I cannot wait to hear it again in the movie!
Point is, we shouldn't judge a movie before we've seen the full thing yet. If you decide it's not your thing by the time you're done watching it, that's no problem. But as I said before, it might surprise some of us. Also at the end of the day, countless people worked long and hard on this movie. They gave their all delivering every line, they worked hard putting every single detail in the animation, trying their best to make it look beautiful and magical. I think the movie deserves a fair and unbiased watch

no one is being forced to like this movie, but for some people to say it looks unfinished is literally a reach, like this movie is trying something new and there are animators that are putting so much work and time into making it look nice. Disney is not a perfect company, but lately i feel as though people are being unreasonably negative, especially for TRAILERS 💀 like trailers should always be taken with a grain of salt.
it really goes to show that no matter what, disney will always have haters, people wanted them to experiment with their art style, which they are doing in this movie, and are now complaining about that too.
in my opinion, this movie looks incredibly charming and it’s nice to have a traditional disney princess movie in like a decade or so, idk it’s just draining to see the amount of hate these movies are getting lately

someone else actually did a video on the animation, apparently youtube squishes it so it looks really weird. otherwise though, the points you made were pretty valid, I'm not too excited for the movie.
I've literally never heard a single person claim the movie is shit because of anyone's skin color in it. People knew the movie would be shit from the getgo because the very PREMISE is bad: Asha does NOT look like the good guy. Not every wish should be granted, like of course not, but that's what the trailers made it look like the movie was gonna be trying to suggest. And the movie still ended up being awful so everyone was right
I thought the animation was crappy at first. Turns out Disney is making it look crappy because they refuse to show full quality resolution.
I’ve found CZcamsrs like TrailerSpot who uploaded 4k ultra hd versions of the Wish trailers, and it actually looks really beautiful.
A lot of the detail is a lot more visible with a much higher quality resolution. And it turns out the animation has been brutally compressed by so many websites.
Apparently the people behind Wish decided to make it 2d and 3d to honor both old and new Disney. And the budget is probably twice as much as Spiderverse since, it’s an original story, it’s a musical, and the marketing is absolutely insane.

I don't see anything wrong with Wish, I think it's amazing. It has a lot of good songs that I can't stop listening to and we finally have a good villain song after 13 years. There's nothing in this movie that I don't like, so Wish doesn't look awful. And I can hardly wait to see it in theaters. Everyone should understand that these animators are doing what they can to make this movie good by making songs inspired by Disney classics. Besides, it hasn't even come out yet. So, they could at least be a bit more grateful. I've seen a lot of Disney movies during my childhood and this one is definitely becoming my favorite.
