This is a video about catching land based Flathead with soft plastics. My Favourite Flathead lure would have to be the worm style like the 4â Curl Worm by Jiggle Fishing which can be found here ----- www.jigglefishing.com.au?aff=2 ----.

Nice flathead mate! I keep trying and I finally got my first flathead off Werribee south peer. Ate it for dinner and it was great.
Great video mate. Only just discovered your video and I love it. You share your techniques and locations where as many other people don't. I caught my largest flathead at Ferguson pier at 39cm.

Hi Mate, I have a few newbie questions for you, if that's OK?For land based fishing for bread and butter species, if you were recommending 2x rod, reel and line combinations to cover 90% of applications, what would you suggest? I like the idea of lure fishing and have bought a range of vibes and SPs, but I'm just not sure about my combo's. Thanks Evan
What sort and how big were the soft plastics?
Hi Mate, I'm a beginner, any tips on set up, tackle etc to start catching flatty? I've got a 2-4kg rod, 2500 reel, 7ft rod. Reel spooled with 6lb Braid, 10lb leader. I've been trying 2.5 inch soft plastics with 1/6 oz jigheads. Fishing land based, NSW .Thanks
Another great video. What brand of net is that? Does it come complete with the assistant :-) I've dropped a few rather large ones lifting them up by the the leader, with that one final headshake :-(

It's a handy net and I'd recommend anyone who fishes from a pier has some type of net to get the fish up.... especially if it's catch and release.
Great video Lincoln. Is this on a week day? The pier looks empty. When i have been it's always busy.
This is a mix of times. Generally I go early mornings and pretty much have areas to myself.
What plastic did you use please?

I generally find free parking in back or side streets in these areas.

It's lip grips to hold the mouth
Do you use braid or the normal stuff

What lb braid do i use on a 2000 size reel
All depends what your chasing. What's the target and style of fishing?
Flathead ,bream,whiting and soft plastics
6-8lb would be suitable and is the range I normally use.

Catch and release fishing is what I mainly do.
@Land Fish TV I only catch fish to eat and flathead is highest quality food, I get serious heart pain when I see them casually thrown away. Hey is that a kato, lumo, T bar , compact, lipper, where do get those, haven't been able spot one anywhere.

What plastics you using?
In the video I have mainly used Worm type lures.

@@LandFishTV mate you got to try out the zman 3inch minow green lantern or bad shad colour. Best flatty lure out there in my opinion
