I think that the show got better when the rest for the characters were given main storylines, and the incredible voices and talents we really didn’t see in season one came out. Like Naya, Harry and Heather, as well as the new cast members Darren and Chord
It's a bucket of slushie not blood in this case! 'Embrace the chaos' is exactly how you have to look at glee. If you're looking for Darren centric performances you haven't already reacted to Don't stop me now, Baby it's cold outside, Dark Side, Beauty School Dropout and Somethings Coming I think you'd like. If you'd like other musical theatre type glee song's with others too Being Alive (Company), For Good (Wicked), You Can't Stop the Beat (Hairspray), As if we never said goodbye (Sunset Boulevard) and Roses Turn (Gypsy) are so great.
Goodness....I had forgotten how good that show was. Yes Darren Criss was excellent. My favorite song done on there was Wedding Bell Blues....it was awesome
Aaw, Glee ❤️ I loved Darren on Glee, but Cory was Glee. I do still enjoy all episodes, even after he died and much thanks to Darren.

Darren has gone on tour I saw him at a stop of the LMDC Tour (Lea Michele and Darren Criss) and he has had other tours as well. He also released a new EP last month called Masquerade.
I’d definitely say that Darren’s character added a lot to the show but he also just kinda got lucky he joined a little later on when the show was a little better structured and all that I guess? But yeah, he definitely left his mark on it, everybody involved was for sure very talented in their own ways but Darren’s charisma and performance skills are simply unmatched and I think that’s why he immediately caught so many people’s attention!! He’s not touring right now but hes just released an EP in the end of august and he’s releasing an album next month so maybe in 2022?😂😂 his music festival “Elsie fest” has also come back last month and this year AJ Holmes from starkid joined him for a bit to promote his own show and they did a sweet and fun rendition of “moving out” by billy joel together, you should totally check it out :)
When (Blaine) Darren was added, the show was at its Peak. The Warblers were very popular w fans, they even got their own CD. A supporting character basically got a whole album. Considering he wasn’t a main cast member, until season 3 started. Yeah, big shift. Some fans were outraged that Chord Overstreet didn’t get promoted to main cast along w him. Even though, his character did go to McKinley for most of season 2. The actor actually quit, then came back mid way through the 3rd season. Then got promoted to main cast for season 4. Random glee drama. lol
No 100% I think when season 2 rolled around it just got better in general. But of course Darren joined the show during that season and Blaine like he just simply was the best male vocalist/performer on the show in my opinion & plus Darren just had crazy charisma and in my opinion the show did elevate once he joined. I always rewatch Glee from his debut episode and onward, I never start from season 1.
And it’s wild this is from Season 5 which is a season a lot of Glee fans don’t particularly love. But I actually really liked a lot of Season 5 including the beatle episodes!
Exactly. I think it generally got better in season 2 and Blaine/Darren was a fundamental component of that
hehe, in fairness, I think the *writing* was actually by pretty far the strongest in season 1, mostly because that was the period of time where there was the perfect balance of satire with moments of genuine heart ... but yes, Darren is just a ray of sunshine and he brought a ridiculous amount of charisma and talent to the show ^__^ There's just something about his voice that feels like a big warm hug, I love it so much!
Glee is just a giant fever dream. Gleeks both love and hate the show passionately. They tackled tons of serious issues, some done well and some terribly. The one liners are awesome and Heather Morris as Brittany improvs so much and her dead pan delivery is hysterical especially since this was her first time acting. Season 2 is were the show really hits it’s stride with fleshing out more of the characters. And of course all of the songs, they did almost 700 in the 6 seasons.
If you want to watch a Glee episode you should totally watch the Micheal Jackson one! It doesn't really require context and it's basically them singing Michael songs for the whole episode. And you already saw one of the performances with Smooth Criminal :)

Two entire episodes of glee singing The Beatles songs
The writer of this episode wrote the screenplay for the Carrie remake and the episode came out within a few weeks of that film's release.
I just looked it up, and this episode wasn't written by that writer, but it did come out the same time as the Carrie rewrite which was written by a glee writer.
Yeah honestly, there's a lot of good parts of season 1 (esp the last eps imo) but season 2 immediately goes to a new level.
i think glee s1 was hot and miss, but it still show you what the vibe of the show is.
actually glee strongest seasons are season 2 and 3. and darren came into the show like a little before the 2nd half on the season.
darren's character became actually really annoying with time, but people still loved him because of darren, hah
darren's broadway/theatre festival recently happened in new york, so you could actually see him perform for some time on stage :) idk what about any tour though, he is busy with other stuff rn

You should start with The Beatles episodes (chapter 1 “Love, Love, Love” and 2 “Tina in the sky with diamonds” season 5) and then react to The Rocky Horror glee show (chapter 5, season 2)
The girl Tina looked at in the red dress ( Bree) as jealous because Tina won Prom Queen and she didn't so she dumped a bucket full of Red Slushy ( not pigs blood like in Carrie ).
imo jonathan groff was the best male vocalist in glee but darren is a close second and then definitely kevin mchale and jacob artist are also some of my faves! when it comes to darren being the one that elevated the show? mmh not really, i think the show just got better at season 2 when he arrived but i wouldn't say it's bc of him, he's part of it tho! those beatles cover are really good, this, let it be and yesterday are my favorite from the 2 episodes :)

I've never liked Darren and I find his voice average at most, but I can see his theatricality to be appealing and entertaining in a show like that. He was also Ryan Murphy favorite so his performances are usually much more produced than from the rest of the cast.
