*MISTAKE I MADE*
You can scan pokestops 25 times in a row to power one up by yourself. So you don't need other players to power them up but it will be faster.
You can do a max of 200 AR Scans per day as well (8 stops/gyms -> Level 3)
The info I seen is you only get 10 scans a day. Could be wrong but got that from the pokemon go hub article.
25*15sec ≈6,6min of filming, yeah I dunno man..
It’s only on gyms here at the moment. And yes, it took me 25 minutes to get to level 1, as the phone crashed between each scan….
@@clex28 15 seconds? It takes half a minute, just to do the scan, and then you HAVE to wait for it to upload, because the game won’t let you do anything else while it uploads these new scans, and that takes a minute to 3 minutes just to upload…. Took me 25 minutes to get one gym to level one.
@@bradameerbeg2154 you dont have to wait till the timer runs up, you can interrupt the scan after 15 seconds. but yeah i still could tell when i saw how many scans are needed that i am definitely not gonna do more scans because of the feature
I think they should be permanent and reset at the end of a season. That way it won't seem like a chore, and Niantic can get data on the POI at different times throughout the year.
This is a very valid idea
Yes but I think level one should be 30 scans, level 2 should be 60, and level 3 should be 90
I got one up to lvl 1 and it only last for 48h so I won't bother.
I didn't know so many people are unable to do ar mapping. For those that can, just remember that the game has no idea if you're actually scanning the stop or not. If you don't want to look weird/don't care, just keep walking as you scan the ground and that'll work every time.
Lol ill have to try that
That’s what I do.
Until Niantic receives all the uploads and realises that you abusing the system scanning your feet, then they ban you from scanning.
wait, there were people doing the actual object scanning? :D btw you can do scans at night too if there is street lighting. just scan the lamp lol
Ayy tomato sauce dog I used to have that avatar
AR tasks need better rewards.. Rare candy (x5), remote pass or reg pass, lure modules.
ouu xl rare candy
or shundo encounters, should be enough
@@JT.91 that’s way too good of a reward for 15 seconds on filming
@@starscream7755 Gosh I forgot these exist. XL rare candies for sure.
Man it’s niantic
The boring part of the AR features is, that you have to do it over and over again. That makes it weird and boring. Instead, they should have made you scan a Pokestop for once and get bonusses of that forever. And again, an update which rewards the locations differently, since main spots will benefit crazy much
In my opinion, this feature doesn't add anything to enhance the basic gameplay. Let's not forget, these AR scans require data to upload to the Pokémon Go Server, and people who don't have Unlimited data, will have to get connected to WiFi to upload these AR scans.
Data can def be a issue
@ Yep. I only scan one or two stops near me because they're often unoccupied and because I can only afford to upload on Wi-Fi. 60MB per scan is a lot when I'm capped at 1GB per month, but at $7.25 per month I can't justify upgrading my phone plan.
@@MrV902 Little tip, only scan for half the amount of the full time. Once the red cube becomes clear (so it's not faded anymore), you can press it to stop the scanning and it's still enough for the quest. End result is 23-30MB. I still only upload it at home though with wifi, but in case you really want that poffin at that time, certainly worth it. (actually always worth it, no need to ever do it full scan).
You don’t need different people- one person can just sit there and scan over and over to power the pokestop up
Ya wasn't aware of this thanks for letting me know!
I have a gym outside my apartment, and I can confirm 1 person can do it.
Yup! I just recorded 15 clips of a single pokestop and it's already Level 3 😝
I definitely just did this. But I usually only do a scan for research/puffins. But I've been low on pokeballs lately and need the extra drops unfortunately
I usually just scan the ground while walking. It’s the less awkward thing I can think of.
what id like to see is the remote raid passes being increased by a few instead of just 3 allowed
Thanks this really helpful, I had now idea what it even was!
The feature is too much of a gimmick. The majority of the player base go out to caught, raid and trade people with people in person or remotely, not to stand at every stop/gym and scan it. If the feature wasnt focus on AR scanning, then I think the majority of the player base would have a different opinion about the feature. Too much effort for not a lot of reward. I would rather then work on PvP and fixing that, especially since its coming to the Pokemon World Championship next year, and include more quality of life adjustments to the game than features with huge percentage of the players wont even bother using
At least the spoofers can't do the scans
thats the problem with the game. normally game developers want to build a great game and players want to enjoy that. with niantic it is players want to enjoy a great game, but niantic wants to collect data. im playing po go since 6 months and i think i didnt play a single set of pvp without winning/losing due to connection issues on either end. they rather implement incentives for us to do free work for them. would love to see them sell the game
@@deanpetersen3037 how would they not be able to scan them lol
@@GideonXD are you stupid? You have to actually be at the pokestop to scan it
It's quite stupid because some people have phones which do not support this feature. Some don't even support AR mode and if you live in little town in which there aren't many people playing, this feature does nothing for you.
When you only have one pokestop and only 3 people play pokemon go in my area: :(
I have 0 stops and no people play pokemon go in my area :(
Worst part of the game in my opinion, if you play in a big city like SF the advantage that you have over rural players is just laughably huge.
Man your videos are so crisp and to the point and fast. Love it.
I really appreciate your quality videos but also how quick they are for when things happen! thanks!
I think they will end up lowering the requirements
As a rural player i really hope so.
Some buddies of mine did some testing on the amount of items gained from each level, and the results were very lackluster. They determined your better off spinning multiple stops over powering them up. The exception is obviously as video pointed out, dense cities and events. Rural areas can ignore this unless you have a lot of friends.
Personally, based off what I've seen thus far this is a gimmick that won't be used outside of the above, even if then. Players are tired of this AR mapping push and - based on other sites - would rather see things like increased spawns, different pokemon in eggs (I agree with this 100%), an improved catch rate on all pokemon and not just raids, infinite normal pokeballs with the option to buy great or ultra balls in the shop, and remote trading(again, a fan. Covid has shown how people prefer to play the game, and in most areas the ideas of mass gatherings outside of community days - which aren't in most rural areas - and go fests have gone away).
Now, if these effects were permanently applied at level 3, that wouldn't be bad at all. Then the rewards would be worth the time and effort. Again though, players in smaller towns with few stops/gyms and those out in the country get shafted. The option to make a new stop is there on the player end at higher levels, but you can't say for sure if it'll be accepted or not. One thing however that is a current issue is some players are being forced to scan the pokestop or gym before they can interact. I assume this is a bug though.
Rather than gimmicks like this, the focus should be on improving the features players want. That's how you keep an active, high player base. Now granted most top level players only spin for items or events and focus most of their time on the battle league, so this offers little for them, and truthfully based on reports well over half of the active player base is 35+. Mark my words, the more they push AR mapping on us, the more players will end up leaving for good. Things like this, auto botting(a common feature in several mobile games now), and pay to win features are what kill games player base. History proves it true.
Worse yet AR mapping doesn't work on many phones a complete wast of time another huge benefit to urban players and completely useless, i dont work for niantic , if you want players to feed you data dont be so stingy with the rewards
It’s winter right now when I’m on my way to home after work I can’t scan anything because it’s to dark in the evening. Sometimes I do them just for the poffen but indeed when I’m filming it’s really awkward
Someone did mention here- which i never thought of- u can literally scan (walk around) the thing to scan, with ur cell in ur hand, pointing down at the ground.... Apparently that works too...u dont NEED to point AT the object.
@@StefanTonioSampson Oh thanks! I will try that next time.
clear and consice explanation .. thank you for sharing this is very helpful 👌👌
Thank you as always! Btw hair is on point!
Very useful; as gym is across the street from my residence. Anecdotally, I see more legendary raids appearing as well. My house is powered up... and ah 3 additional raid balls is priceless..
I only do scans for Poffins. This year I've gone from having issues with some scans; just failing to upload for no reason was the most common issue but now I'm having no issues at all so they actually fixed something for once. I haven't had an issue scanning or uploading in some months now.
Instead of features like this they need to add a feature were you can communicate with your friends. I've got a lot of lucky friends from other countries but no way to communicate with them.
I believe they recently added something like this to Wizards Unite, so hopefully they'll bring it over to POGO eventually
I had this issue and the dude put his Instagram handle as his buddy name lol
I agree Niantic is using us to make money off their AR mapping and we deserve better rewards for scanning places. Maybe they give us coins then scanning would be great!! and 50 coins per scan would be my minimum.
Hell I'd take 10 coins per scan, provided it doesn't contribute to the 50 coin daily limit.
@@MrV902 maybe it should have its own limit to 10 scans
what about 10 coins per scan adding up to 50 a day, plus the gym coins, adding to 100 a day. that would be sweet
I can't even get it to start trying to AR map anything. I've tried every option and it all just leads to dead ends
I'm really early thanks for explaining
Dude great upload and very informative and I 💯 agree with your thoughts on it This new feature
agree with you completely on your thoughts.
I agree with you 100% exertion that one person can power up a pokè stop by themselves. There is lo limit on how many times you can scan the stop. The even added a new button for it on the stop screen
Agreed! I’m not a worker for them and by scanning those stops I’m sure the information can be used to remove stops and gyms.
The thumbnail face sums it up perfectly
I can't even scan the pokestop, I always get the task but it doesn't give any option to scan the pokestop.😐
Even when you click on the task in the Field research tab? Nothing pops up?
@@Raindeux Yup. I have the same issue it sucks
I agree. It's super awkward to be walking around a rock or sign/ whatever to scan. I also only do those tasks for poffins, but always tries to do it as late as possible to avoid other people lol. It's definitely a smart move from Niantic to make the players give them sellable info without them lifting a finger..
2:24 thats me lmao,ty so much for the vid
best pokemon go content creator...cool dude
I totally agree with you Poke Daxi!!
This needs to be a permanent or a weekly boost, or is able to be rolled indefinitely. 3 days is not a very if it takes you almost 2 hours to do 25 scans
This feature seems alright. Something to do before events begin to boost that event. I hope they still will have the poffin scans too.
They do and that was my plan as well. Go scout out a bunch of stops for community day downtown and hopefully everyone can reap the rewards. It does seem a little awkward in populated areas if youre scanning the area rather than just scanning the sidewalks. Just don't be waving your phone around like a creep
Not worth it to me, boosts should be permanent for the season but reset at the end. Its a gimmick and I also wouldn't do AR mapping because its weird and people are around me. It should be based on spins. I use ar mapping but basically stare straight at the floor and move my camera so I get the poffin.
I always scan pokestops and gyms, it works perfectly for if you have to do say 7 tasks, you just scan 7 ar mapping stops or gyms and that's it, i don't know if you knew this already but it was helpfull a lot of times
I concur with your feelings on AR mapping!
Congratulations on 170k subscribers
Thank you Donny!
Great tips.
I am not scanning stops/gyms right now because it's winter in Wisconsin. It's too cold right now.
When it was warmer around here, I was more involved in actually catching mons than any other activity in the game. I don't foresee that changing unless the rewards are massively reworked to make it worthwhile to spend the time to do the scans.
However, there was one gym near me that was for an artifact that was permanently removed. Reporting the gym as invalid didn't change anything. Scanning the empty spot where the gym artifact used to be seemed to be the difference to get the map updated. There were enough other artifacts nearby to take up the slack of the gym being removed (and there were three brand new stops, which created another new gym, within 100 feet of it when I visited last week) that losing this one gym didn't hurt the game.
If the duration lasts for 48 hours, plus 12 each level up, you could scan the pokestop a 5-10 times a day instead of trying to scan 25 times in a row in 1 day and still get the bonuses. This could be helpful for community days (only time actually worth the boost, and maybe not even then), you could scan it over the course of 2-3 days before the community day starts to have it ready to go when it releases instead of walking around with your phone up for 2 hours before it starts. Also, even if you live in a rural area, if someone else sees the boosted pokestop before the community day they might try to help out with the scanning too.
Thanks for the info very helpful.. I say nay to the scanning .. to much time to scan the stop or gym
I have never been able to get ar mapping to work even on different phones, and live in such a remote area that its very rare to see another player.
Innocent me thought they were doing AR mapping to do more detailed maps on Pokémon go, but when you said it’s about money it made sense
That was a great video - insightful. I hadn’t even thought about the commercial side of things. You’re absolutely right - they’re taking and selling the info, and the rewards are a joke. It took me literally like 15 min and 15 tries to scan one single pokestop, and I have a very good expensive phone. Not worth it.
Hi love ur vids
You're absolutely right. I am not going to go around at Pokestops and do AR Scans. Most of these stops near me are in these highway neighborhoods. It'll be dangerous for me and others. I doubt many people will do this task.
Niantic wants to turn us into a botnet that works for peanuts. I might scan things for remote raid passes, but probably not. Stops and gyms (and gifts and gbl) already give out plenty of other stuff.
I can't wait to see how many pokemon spawn at Lincoln Park Zoo the next community day with level 3 pokestops 😍
If they had made it where a level 3 poke stop or gym can give you a higher chance of getting a 10k egg. That way people who might want the 10k eggs they can grid that out
I have a gym 6' from my home. This is cool for me if my neighbors get involved. Seems really niche. Never had my phone go crazy from AR mapping tasks
Please like this video. He’s telling us every honest thoughts which is rare in today’s youtube trend. Help him grow to get more honest thoughts.
Great! Yet another way to make cities better to play in than other areas...
i literaly just coment this on trainer club dexi lmao i love how u speak ur voice like a normal person, we are literaly lab rats yes
talking about pokestops what is the differences in the lure modules that attach to the pokestops?
I don't even have the option to do a scan and my app is up to date. Secondly when I try to add a pokestop, after I take the picture and they ask me is this ok and I click yes my game crashes and kicks me out
Hey, it's a strategy from Niantic to kill fake nominated locations, some players randomly nominate anything and have a friend who would generally accept everything to have increase stops and gyms in selected areas. The new feature as nice as it sounds is geared to put a stop to a pokestop that slipped through nomination, review and was accepted.
3:50 pokedaxi bro it's like similar to ar mapping task when you spin the pokestop you get a task to scan it and then you get some great or ultra ball
Not a fan. I'll take my free poffin when it pops up but they get a scan of the ground lol
You yourself can scan the same stop to power it up, I got one to level 2 on my earlier in the day lol
Fully agree with you, I don't really like it, it is an awkward action to do in public especially having in mind what amount of stops are outdoor gyms, kid playgrounds and things like that. More over you have to walk and do a video not just a static shot which makes it even more so awkward.
What happens after the time expired and the requirement for scan has not been met? Does it have to be restarted?
It could also be for them to have a bit more accurate number of players in he vicinity, they added another poke stop and a gym in our area. (but the NFT idea makes more sense) Also yeah I guess I'm lucky since a lot of us play here it's not weird to do ar mapping , been doing it every other day. I suggest just make more account? I have 3 my brother got 2 and my mom has 3 too, I do wish they would at least make the time duration longer for the level up poke stops
So now my question is.. The buddy heart gained.. Is it just one single heart per day? Or 1 heart per buddy per day. Like if i sit at a level 2 stop and do my buddies are they each going to get a bonus heart?
I hope they reduce it to 5 scans per level, like 5 for level 1, 10 for level 2, 15 for level 3, etc.
like you said, this might only be good for comm days and other events with a crap ton of people catching pokemon and doing raids etc.
but if youre really bad at catching legendaries, then those three extra balls might save you
Agreed with th awkward part. I dnt want to scan n look like “tht guy” lol but also yeah I get it.. it’s better if thy reward us with something epic
Bro can you please make short video on use of fast moves
Love from india
There was a gym powered up to level 3 near my yesterday, which I already have a gold badge on. I did not get ANY extra items. So it seems it's just maybe giving you items equal to the badge you have? Pretty worthless if you have decent gym badges for those.
(At 2:14) I definitely been having that kind of problem with the scanning. The phone I have is a… T-Mobile REVVL4. And I don't know if it's the app acting up or if I'm over using my phone, but most of the time when I try to play this game it kind of cancels or exit out on me. Either when I start the game or when I'm in the middle of it sometimes I get interrupted as it cuts off.
But anyway, my phone is a _T-Mobile REVVL4,_ so I don't know the scanning thing "could" work on my phone, or not.
I scan the one by my house witch is the only one for miles 25 to 30 times every 2 days just so I can get balls berries sprays eggs and revives it's a big help
I'm quite looking forward to this new feature, although I'm one of the people whose phone quite frequently crashes out of the game while scanning. Also I completely agree with the other commenters that the duration should be seasonal. NOT just a couple of days before the effects wear off. Besides that, I also get that the scanning rewards could use some improvement. As some other people already said, some poké-coins or an (normal) egg incubator, I really would appreciate (alongside the poffins that is).
So that happens to other folk? I’ve never understood why sometimes when I start a scan task the entire game just closes. Doesn’t happen that often but it puts me off regular scan tasks and now only bother with the poffin rewards.
Can you make a video about when events for legacy moves come , I know you already made a video about legacy moves, but somebody said that during the johto event u can get kanto legacy moves. Do you need to buy the pass for it? Is it actually true? Etc.
This video would probably come out when the event starts, and there is official information on how it works.
and thats why im always scanning the floor xD
Pog welcome early ppl
You are right about the tiny bit of people
Edit: you can also go to anywhere downtown
Bro can you tell which dark type and ghost type pokemon be alivable in December months
ill use it occasionally as school holidays are on and I can no longer get as much access to pokeballs as I usually would, so it will be handy to have
Youre right. I dont want to stand by the road to "record a video" on the environment. People will give me a weird look.
Honestly just wish the gym outside my place gave other research tasks outside of ar scans
all depends on the rewards. its definatly city friendly.
I usually delete ar making task because it never works and it's a bit akward in public
I never see other Pokémon go players and they pokestopt aren't scanned a lot in my local Area. This is a flop.
I am curious if you can personally scan it multiple times to get to the 5 people how are they going to identify that a Is single player scandit more than once I hope that makes sense
I have a pretty strong gaming phone, Lenovo Legion Duel, and the AR mapping doesn't work. It's turned on from all settings, and if i try to map a stop or a gym, the option just isn't available, even though everything is turned on in settings.
i live in london and my uni building is a pokestop and 5 people in my class alone play pogo, given how little moderation there is on what counts as a scan (you can pretty much just can your feet as you walk lmao), i feel like my uni is abouta be op for powered up stops lol
I pretty much only scan for poffins. I can only seeing doing this at one or two gyms where there is a lot of traffic. (Also where I might be able to jump into a raid with people already in it.)
I always hated ar mapping task because my olds phone camera was broken and there’s no flip feature.
so like is there different types of pokestops cause there’s some around me i want to power up but they can’t level up…are some pokestops can’t be leveled up?
I say make them permanent for like 1 to 2 months so it’s not a chore and that way it’s not like a must have fully upgraded gym/pokestop and it will extremely help out the new trainers with getting more items than usual but I would like it to be permanent for at least either a few months or for the entire season that comes out that way in the time span of the permanence we can update it to say that the location is no longer available or it moved locations
I don’t think the rewards are good enough. It could be really cool if it wasn’t tied to AR mapping only. I might do it during an event but as a regular daily thing probably not.
The worst part about it is when it requires to scan a PokeStop/Gym when the thing isn’t even there anymore. Like in my town there’s a gym for some bull statues that have been gone for 4 years so scanning is an impossibility while in college my dorm is a gym for a diner that doesn’t even exist anymore.
Yes u are right, my game crashes when I try to scan pokestop and even I am unable to click photo to make new pokestop
Poke daxi,in Sultan Mahmud headbridge grm, there is a shiny Druddigon in there.
I think it would be nice if you showed us how to physically do it on our devices because I still have no clue how to scan it just informationon when I do scan
We live next to Disneyland and Knotts Berry farm so 25 would be easy so will see the if the benefit's will work.
