I dont think so that the wise men came from Arabia, which is a few miles from israel. When the wise men meet Jesus he is already in the house. So it means they traveled from far country. Secondly, the gifts they brought to Jesus are found in the Philippines. Philippines is known as a pearl of the orient

Thanks Dr. Pitre. I can buy Arabia, and in fact wouldn't be surprised to learn from someplace closer. What I have trouble with is the 'kings' part. We saw when Sheba visited Solomon, she brought a large number of animals carrying gifts, and presumably personal guards. Here, we have multiple 'kings,' over which Herod assumes primacy, and seemingly no large retinue. Sounds more like advisers or lower judges to me.

One was a king who provided the means to travel and gift of gold. The other two were his advisors, who studied astronomy and they all loved God. The gold helped Joseph and Mary the means to get out of Dodge because of King Herod. Saudi Arabia is SE, but Persia is East. Therefore, they were at least from Persia. Also, the king must have brought a caravan with men to protect them, set up camp and feed the camels, etc. They traveled through desert in the summer, so it's not like they were on cruise control. It took a long time. Watering holes, food provisions, rest stops were all included in their plans for their journey. Not long as two years, but maybe.

The 3 wise men traveled from the orient seas for 2 years before they reach Bethlehem. Would it be close enough to say that the Eastern part of the world is in Asia where the Land of Ophir settled? The Land where King Solomon commanded his men to gather the fine gold, Narra (Almud Wood) to be used in building the Temple of Jerusalem.

To all you God Culture adherents a.k.a. modern day protestants, no offence intended but knowing where the 3 kings a.k.a. 3 wise men a.k.a. 3 magi originally came from would not secure your salvation and lead you to heaven. So whether they were from the Philippines as you strongly believed doesn't give weight to your justification.
For a start, It is only by believing and confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour, begotten Son of God, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made,
Consubstantial with the Father, would secure your salvation.
The good Dr. Pitre is just discoursing from Biblical text where the 3 men could possibly come from. So please don't make a big deal out of this, pretending that your souls depend on this revelation. And you all would do well if you do your fishing in the part of the world where Christ is not known and believed and not where Jesus Christ is believed and worshipped as both Lord and Saviour since the time of the Holy Apostles and surviving as the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church till this day.
Whatever logic, arguments and interpretation you might have, just know that as long you're one of the many thousands of protestant churches who broke away from our Lord's mandate to St. Peter, you have no authority whatsoever let alone, teaching, for the source of your teachings would be from the traditions of men however hard you try to mask it by quoting the bible.
And whoever believes that Jesus was 2 years old when the 3 wise men came a calling from the Philippines, don't know your bible well enough and just propaganding your own imaginary faith all the while making a complete fool out of yourselves. Please refer to Luke 2:12
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Hello, it says here, "Baby"!!! Not some toddler playing peek-a-boo with you!!
Now which of you here is/ are relying on tradition of men and discarding the Holy Apostolic Tradition/faith? I say to you, be forwarned, repent and turn back to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ on St. Peter whom the Lord has given the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven to. Matthew 16:19.
    Peace.

They are not making a big deal of of it.. they just want to share the truth regarding this issue where these 3 kings came from. It is just misinterpretation of those so called scholars. When the Bible says its east (Orient) it's talking about the nations from the east of the world map. The Bible is not just the Middle east. Remember the Prophecy in
Matthew 12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
Luke 11:31The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
This Queen of the South is Sheba . Not the south of arabia because the south of arabia is not the Uttermost parts of the Earth.

Your conviction on this matter doesn't make an impact as far as salvation history is concerned. These verses written by Matthew only serve to point out that Jesus is the promised Messiah, the Lord and King as foretold by the prophets of old. So whether Sheba came from Arabia, Ethopia or the Philippines as you guys insist adamantly and claimed her to be from doesn't lend the slightest weight to the fact that Jesus Christ, in His hypostasis nature, of full God and full Man, is greater than Solomon. In the midst of all these brauhaha coming from you guys, the fact remains that geographically, Jesus' time on earth in His saving mission, as recorded by the Gospel writers was carried out and completed in the Middle Eastern regions and not in the Philippines. So really, what's so significant about Philippines anyway, except for the souls that live there, then again, so is every precious souls in the world.

By the way, there are no known biblical text that explicitly mentioned South East Asia as the utmost part of the world so how on earth do you guys interpret it as such? Arabia is south of the Middle East regions and has biblical texts refering to it in different names. That is the world the biblical writers know it and refer to it as such. This unfortunately didn't include the rest of the world, like Japan, China and I'm convinced New Zealand is certainly not on their list and heck so was Australia. We know that the scriptures were written by human authors with their limitations and under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, so if these human authors has never travelled or heard of such places in the first place, how do you expect them to include these places in their writings, as 'the most utmost part of the Earth'? The understanding of the earth in biblical times was flat and on stilts and not round as we know today.
By your own admission, you believed in the interpretation of Philippines as the most utmost part of the world even though it's not explicitly found in the bible, my question here is, why not Japan? Isn't Japan the land of the rising sun and is situated further off east compared to Philippines? And why not New Zealand, another country situated further east and further down south?
Apparently the so called scholars that you guys relied on for this irrational truth has not provide any answers for this and you all swallowed it hook, line and sinker.....
I'm sure you know that Philippines has 7641 islands, which of these many isles is Ophir, Sheba and Havilah? Don't tell me it's Luzon, Cebu and Mindanao......and nope don't think Palawan is one of these..
      Seriously, it's a shame....absolutely shameless.

Sheba in Saudi Arabia is not Sheba in the East (Son of Joktan - meaning small man - Asians). Joktan who went eastward (Gen. 10:30) have three sons - Sheba, Ophir, and Havilah (Gen. 10:28-29).They established the kingdoms in the East (Jeremiah 25:22) where the Queen of Sheba came from. Yes, the Queen of Sheba came from the kingdom of Sheba which is part of the Isles which are in the uttermost part of the earth. The same place these wise men or kings came from. That is why Solomon knew there are gold in Ophir because they have contact with those kingdoms in that part of the earth. Remember also that to get to Ophir, it takes three years journey back and forth by ship. While journey to Sheba in Saudi Arabia doesnt take three years and can be travelled by land only. Another point is Saudi Arabia is Middle East not East or Far East. Note also that the wise men or kings knew about the prophesy of the coming Messiah, meaning they have the Holy scriptures (therefore they are not Arabs), they are Hebrews (descendants of Eber father of Joktan) and they spoke to Herod in plain Hebrew language.

The 3 kings are represented as the 3 stars in the Philippine-flag surrounding the life giving sun which is essentially God Himself. And God Almighty likes the colors blue and scarlet and when you combine both, you’d get the purple which is also his favorite color and of course the stars and the sun are in yellow/gold which floats in the white triangle(symbolizes the Holy Trinity) which represents pureness which is also one of his favorite color combinations that he ordered His tabernacle to be in.

They’re not Persians or Arabians. Nor were they Iranians/Parthians. Zoroastrianism doesn’t believe in Jesus. However, it does preach belief in a messiah figure called the Saoshyant who will renovate the world & perfect it but this figure is prophesied to come from the blood/seed of Zoroaster and Jesus was Jewish, not Indo-Iranian.
The Bible does say they are kings. They came from the Orient/Far East (which the Bible refers to as “the ends of the earth), specifically the Philippines (which the Bible refers to as “the isles” or “Ophir, Sheba and Tarshish,” the 3 main islands. They were Hebrews, sons of Joktan (from the line of Eber, Salah, Arpachshad, Shem) who, fled to the east because they refused to bake bricks for the construction of the Tower of Babel, still followed the laws of Moses, and came back to their homeland to pay homage to their Messiah.
Read Psalm 72 KJV and you’ll find the answer.
...8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. 9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. 10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba shall offer gifts...”
Why the Massacre of the Innocents (2 year olds)? Because Yahusha Jesus was already 2 when they finally arrived.
They came by way of the ships of Tarshish. They traveled by sea for the first leg of the journey, which takes a year and a half from the isles to the port in Ezion-Geber. From there they rode camels and traveled by land.
This is the same route that the Queen of Sheba took when she journeyed from Sheba to visit Solomon and gave him gold to build the temple.
Please do not confuse Sheba, son of Joktan from the line of Shem with Seba, son of Cush (Ethiopia) from the line of Ham.

It so happens to be the land of creation: Elda, Havilah (derived from Havah, meaning Eve/Eva), and Ophir. It’s everywhere in the Bible, referred to as The Wilderness, The Ends of the Earth, The Uttermost Parts of the Earth, Mounts of the East, Coastlands, Qedem, Sephar, Zion. It will be the New Jerusalem, God’s Alpha and Omega, where he started life and where He will come back to redeem His chosen people: The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel. • The early Filipinos had trade relations with the neighboring countries of Borneo, China, Japan, and Siam, Business was carried on chiefly by barter.
Long before the time of Columbus, Filipinos were already known in Mecca, and Egypt, the Balkans, Macedonia, and England as traders from the East.
As early as A.D. 31 the Ptolemy of Egypt, according to the records of ancient geographers, had knowledge of the traders from the East who were reputed to be honest,
intelligent, healthy in their earnest dealings. These traders were known as " Manila-men " because they
came from " Manila " or Maniola names encountered in the records
of the most ancient geographers. The word
" Manila" or " Maynila", according to the Chinese geographer Chau-Ju-Kua, came from word " Mai" the
name of all islands north of Borneo...
These traders exported to sinamay cloth, wax, mirrors, silk, sulphur, gold,
silver, and pearls. They established their trading on the Koramandel and Malabar coast...
Professor Austin Craig, eminent student of Philippine history, said that
the ancient traders of the Philippines exported sinamay cloth to Greece in
A.D. 21 and Strabo, a Roman geographer of the First Century, referred to the commodity as " Ta see
sika ", or flex combed from

What do you think of the theory that they were Zoroastrians--monotheists who were heavily found to the East to Israel? The literal title of Zoroastrian priests is "Magi" and they spend enormous amounts of time studying and watching the stars. Since I was a child I have heard this theory, and I know people (pretty smart ones) who still think it. It would imply those Zoroastrians who converted to Christianity (many did) were also part of the plan--they were the largest monotheist faith in the region that wasn't Jewish.

The Magi came to hail Jesus as a new member of the David dynasty to work with them in mission. The Samaritan Magi were members of the Order (the Great White Brotherhood of Tutmosis III), being attached to the Egyptian Therapeuts in Qumran in Judea. There were 500 members in the Samaritan Magian order of West Manassah. The whole order of Manassah contained 1000 men in the homeland, but they were divided into western and eastern branches as the original tribe had been, the Samaritans of the West being hellenized. Magians learned their calendar science, medicine and political skills in Babylon, where they had profited from the enforced exile of Samaritans in the 8th century BC; but they were Samaritan Jews who had a high reputation for learning, and had combined Jewish religion with Hellenistic knowledge in a way that had already become gnosticism, that is, the belief that there was a superior kind of salvation for men of learning. In their communities they lived very much as the Pythagoreans did, devoted to the pursuit of knowledge as a religious way of life.

Basic math would indicate that the nearest they should be from is India and more likely from China coastline.

The one question I've always had with the story of the 3 Kings (or Wisemen) was the Star of the East they followed to Jesus' place of birth Bethlehem. If they were from the East and the Star was from the East, logically it would have led them in the opposite direction away from Israel and Bethlehem. I never have seen or read anything that explains this apparent contradiction in the Bible? Can you explain?

Geographical proximity is a very strong indication of most things Biblical. Of course specifically here when coupled by the Sheba influence in Israel, outlined in the Old Testament through the Solomon story. I note with particular interest that in Geographical Proximity, that there is never a great distance in any off these prophetic indications and outcomes, especially in the travel of Christ Jesus, exemplified again with the Magi or 3 Kings from the Orient, who would also have to be aware of the teachings of the Jews. Go to Israel, you will be shocked at the proximity of all of these Biblical sites and locations.

What Reveals to me that the story of The Three Wise Man or Three Kings was like Kings that with Melchizedek in old Testament with Abraham
    Amen Dr. Pitre.
Thanks GOD for his GIFT of Wisdom
As He keep on unveiling the deep stories of the Holy Book that others keep on Destroying.
Whoever the KINGS or wise man are.. These are for sure from different places where travels like astrologers and met in a place or Kingdom where they confirm to each other that there is a prophecy that even Chinese History that I have read that had revealed by their Emperor that through their belief in astronomy
even the day He will be died was revealed too
Whatever it is Thank GOD it was not given importance and written like in Genesis that Each KING were mentioned from Where before Abraham met them..
GOD has a purpose why It was not writtten so
NO ONE (NATION) or leaders COULD Boast about the name of their KINGDOM
How GOD actually never wanted a KING
Only He allowed it when people ask it for Prophet Samuel..
All KINGs fail to Rule Jerusalem (City of Peace)
    Even Herod Failed as KING
Because Wickedness of MAN to called as Ruler of A Nation
    Because there is no Greater
Ruler and No Greater than King Solomon is the KING been Born!!
    The Immanuel
And Herod was like KING of SODOM who wanted to Decieve.
    God bless
    Genesis 14:17-24
17 After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying,
“Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
    Creator of heaven and earth.
20 And praise be to God Most High,
who delivered your enemies into your hand.”
Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.”
22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “With raised hand I have sworn an oath to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, 23 that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘I made Abram rich.’ 24 I will accept nothing but what my men have eaten and the share that belongs to the men who went with me-to Aner, Eshkol and Mamre. Let them have their share.”

OT canon Books of Tobit and Daniel tell us that the Magi were: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. So yes, there are only 3. There are only 3 archangels mentioned by name in the canon of Scripture. Azariah (Abednego) is the son of the great Hananiah (Shadrach). Azariah, having gone incognito for all or most of the trip, finally confessed to Tobias, "I am Raphael, 1 or 7 who stand in the presence of Almighty God.". Raphael is God's healing angel and so God used Raphael to exorcise a demon from Sarah and heal Tobit's blindness. Hananiah means "God favors" and so God used Hananiah (Gabriel) to make the ANNUNCIATION to the Virgin Mary. Mishael/Michael (Meshach) is the commander of the armies of heaven and so God used him to make the ANNUNCIATION to the Virgin Joan (of Arc) that she would bear a son called the sacred kingdom of France, "... the Tribe of Judah of the New Covenant." -- Pope Saint Pius X. See Revelation 12. Michael is of course the commander of the armies of heaven, so who better to train the virgin teenage girl Joan of Arc about the art/science of waging war and cannon warfare (an emerging technology). The Magi traveled EAST to WEST because salvation proceeds from EAST to WEST in the heavenly tabernacle: [WEST] Holy of Holies

The Bible itself says that not everything our Lord did is written; Jn 20:30, 21:25.
And it also criticises personal interpretation, upon which sola scriptura is based; 1st Pet 1:20,21.
In the New Testament we have Old Testament scripture quotes that do not appear anywhere in the Old Testament that we have. What does that say about the nature of scripture?!

If you don't believe in the Bible, the question is moot from the beginning because you don't actually believe what was said in the first place (in Gen chp. 6).
In such cases, it matters little if the account is fact or fiction. If you were reading fiction, a Sci-fi novel e.g., and it mentioned Superman, the only way to know who this Superman in the novel was - would be by finding out from the novel.
In this case of history long lost to mankind, except in the Bible, your only choice is either to query said Bible, or reject all of it. If you don't believe the Bible, why you even wonder about these "Sons of God" is beyond me.

This guy is very good. Very good at guiding his listeners to where he wants them to be, in line with the Catholic narrative.
He said of the "Magos". It literally means "wise men", a very good translation".
Not according to The Catholic Education Resource Center which gives four meanings for "Magi" and "wise men" or "king" is not among them.
"A member of the priestly class of ancient Persia, where astrology and astronomy were prominent in Biblical times; (2) one who had occult knowledge and power, and was adept at dream interpretation, astrology, fortune-telling, divination, and spiritual mediation; (3) a magician; or (4) a charlatan,"
When Dr. Petre attempts to support his theory he goes to the Old Testament for evidence.
However, he makes no mention that the Magi were "astrologers, fortune tellers, interpreters of dreams, divination or having occult knowledge, all these things condemned by God in the OT and those practicing were subject to death.
Next, he attempts to redraw the map of Asia by saying that Sheba is to the East of Israel where it is actually to the south.
I've noticed in a few of his videos he is an expert at misleading his listeners by using similar deceptive reasoning.

The bible no where says three Magi, it says Wise Men and no where does it mention three. They theorize from the three gifts. Sad we do not stick to what the Bible says period. Daniel was a wise man and in Daniel 2:27 he makes a distinction between the Wise Men, Astrologers, magicians and soothsayers. Daniel and his companions weren't magi, short for magicians, they were Wise Men. Let the bible interpret the bible.

Wow, How can you make sense of this? A 2 year journey of the three Kings and they came from Babylon, or the sorounding area, which is just ONE MONTH journey. I would call that a fake news. Plsam 72: 10-15 tells us more about these Kings so we would not be fooled. there's a reason why They have to come from the east queen of Sheeba not from false Sheba located west of Israel ,which is Etheopia. The real Queen of Sheba from the east brought the finist gold to build the house of God the king Solomon's temple. Now these Kings from the east brought the finist gold to offer to our savior Jesus Christ. The Kings also came there to worship , WHO? To worship our savior Jesus Christ. Not Mary and Not Joseph for they are not God. Now look deeper in history who have been mining gold since 300 bc . That is Ophir. The only nation the Spanish erase its history and replace it with false narratives. Ancient nation call these island in the east the land of Gold.

Just as the kings of Tarshish, of the isles and of Sheba played a pivotal role during the birth of Yahusha Jesus, the people from the isles will play an important role in the end times. This is what Isaiah 60 means. It’s not about the birth of Yahusha. The book of Isaiah is a prophetic book about the millennial kingdom of Yahusha Jesus when Israel is lifted up from among all nations. You can’t just lift snippets of verses from it and allude it to the birth of the Messiah. You have to read the whole chapter (60:1-22) to understand that Isaiah did not write it for his time, or to prophesy the birth of Jesus. He was talking about the regathering of Israel. All the verses are intertwined with each other that chopping it up or going back and forth will totally confuse whoever is watching the video. Focus on verse 9 - “Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.”

Pamela Flavell Jesus loves symbolism as living in the spirit is all about speaking in parables, so give this a listen:
The 3 kings are represented as the 3 stars in the Philippine-flag surrounding the life giving sun which is essentially God Himself. And God Almighty likes the colors blue and scarlet and when you combine both, you’d get the purple which is also his favorite color and of course the stars and the sun are in yellow/gold which floats in the white triangle(symbolizes the Holy Trinity) which represents pureness which is also one of his favorite color combinations that he ordered His tabernacle to be in.

I’m Filipino too, and I used to believe that the Philippines is Ophir, but now I know that the claim that the Philippines is Ophir is bullcrap. I’m not saying that it’s impossible, but there’s little evidence. The only reason why you believe that the Philippines is Ophir is because you’re Filipino, and you’re looking for excuses for your pinoy pride.
