Adorable!! I have 3 Shih tzu’s. My male and female pair are named Yin and Yang... & then their daughter is Mae Ling. Yinnie’s behavior is very much like Stassi’s. It can get very tiring to deal with the resistance behaviors with my 3 Shih Tzu’s. I’m a 74 yr old widow and so I get quite tired after bathing days.

The waterproof apron is a great idea! My Lhasas soak me every time! I bathe them in our shower, then carry them out to our laundry room to dry and groom them. I always have an extra shirt laid out because I am drenched at the end of it. :)

I have 2 huge 100 pound English black labs and I want to buy a shih tzu so I can groom them every day and put bows in their hair it looks like fun. I clean my dogs ears, eyes, teeth and brush and clean them very frequently between professional grooming. You are awesome don't listen to the haters they need someone to hate bc they are unhappy. Ignore them.!!! Im so happy I found your channel.

What do you do about her beard when she’s eating? It’s hard to keep my boys beard clean I tried putting it in a ponytail while he eats but he goes nuts. He will wear a top knot but he wig out with the beard in a ponytail. I have 2 female puppies and ones face has a lot of white. I’m worried about her facial hair staying clean when it get longer.

Hi I love your videos, I have my first shih Tzu. she is my heart. I'm not an expert at shih Tzu dogs or anything but I'm finding out that my shih Tzu don't like the water running while bathing. You may want to try that to get her to be a little calmer. let me know if it works for you pls.

Hi i just wanted to ask where did you get your white plastic tub at and what is it called because i have two Shih Tzu's and I'm getting one for them so they won't wander off in the backyard.

She's so cute, but be mindful of the water in her ears. If you don't dry her ears well she could possible get an ear infection. But she's super cute and seems like a great dog to have

I saw in one of the posts that there was dandruff looking stuff in her furbabies ears. I did not see an answer. mine gets this too from time to time. it is possibly a yeast problem from allergies, shih tuzs are famous for that. you really have to make sure to dry their ears thourghly, or yeast can develope. yeast loves warm wet places to grow. usually this is the case for all flop eared dogs. the ears don't get a chance to dry out. this can get to be a problem if not done properly. hope this helps.

thats a sign of allergies, so i suggest allery testing to stop the behavior . but you can try clarity no rinse stain remover from pishpad.com and peace and kindness colloidal spray from amazon

for now, but you will want and need to bathe with regular shampoo soon ...I would say by 12 weeks
I have a shitzu yorkie mix named teddy and she doesn't have long fur like Stassi but your grooming videos are still really helpful I'm subscribing for sure! She's only a puppy but to be honest I don't want her fur to be that long because dogs like that take a lot of care and time witch I don't have time for so I'll probably cut her fur when she's older but not to much

Dont know what the white stuff is ? You should bring your baby to the vet for that;) I bathe mine every 7-10 days ( Stassi) and Harper about every 2 weeks. The chi girls once a month.

I don't know if your from america but they have those at places like walmart at walmart they would be called a ketchup or mustard despencer and you could get them at sally's beauty supplies they would be for hair dye there but eaither would work! hope i could help!! ;)

How long does she smell clean for? Every time my pup gets groomed he smells amazing for a long time. But when I bathe him he smells like he’s been outside for 3 days lol I just want him to smell like he just got back from the groomers lol help !!! PS very informative video ! Love it !!! Also my pup, he is a mixture of shitzu & Yorkie. But looks like a shitzu but has soft fur but it gets dry sometimes too.

What do you use for inbetween baths? And my Shih tzu get really dirty in between her legs after she pees do you have any advice on that? To keep it clean?
+Pao Rodriguez i dont use anything in betweem, but keep on mond thst she potties inside so that keeps her clean. She doesnt pee pee on herself so im sorry, im not much help there either. But i would do clarity no rinse stain remover on that area in between baths. Probably daily.

Wow! Shes wonderful in the bath! :D Has your puppy always have had this type of behavior when getting groomed? or was it all about the de-sensitization as a young pup? I just got my pup(3 months now) he does not like being groomed, though i'm trying my best to desensitize and make it a good experience.
Tamarah Welch Human shampoo burns the dogs skin. I highly recommend you not to use human shampoo for the safety of your dog. 🐶
Question my puppy doesn't let me brush out her ears on her daily grooming but now they are matted any recommendations on how to get her used to brushing her ears and how do I get those nasty mats out without cutting them 😰
You have to do it everyday.
+Babycakesblush26 My suggestion would be to take your dog to the groomer to be dematted, then start with fresh unmatted ears. They must be brushed every single day in order to keep knot free. Just keep doing it whether he likes it or not and give some high value treats when he behaves while you are brushing. You can condition him to know that when he stops biting he gets a treat. Biting = No treat ;) YOU are the boss ...ALWAYS ;)

Would you rather give your dog a chemical burn if the soap accidentally got in her eyes?????????? They put oil in humans eyes when they have surgery , in Newborns eyes when they are born .....come on . Be real .
Stassi the Tzu I am real and I did not know you used products that would cause a chemical burn to the eyes. I have a gorgeous dog and like I said I have never used oil in her eyes. Do what you want. My dog has great vision too. You did not have to get defensive. To each their own.
Any soap that gets in the eye can damage the eyes. I put the oil to protect her eyes.
my products are all very gentle . My point is is that no matter how gentle a product is , if it gets in the eye it can cause a chemical burn

+Trisha mae roguel She is just a purebred shih tzu;) She does come from a all champion and grand champion bloodline and I keep her in full coat but there are no specific kinds of shih tzu. If you hear breeders refer to their shih tzu's as "Imperial" this is not a correct term and a sign of a not so great breeder because nowhere in the breed standard does it say anything about Imperial or any other "type" for that matter;) HTH

Tea tree is fine if its diluted dramatically. Have you ever put it in your eyes? I have and it bloody stings like hell.

Karen Mitchell if you google the shampoo she's using you will see it's very good shampoo! PH balanced for dogs that means no harsh chemicals!

FYI... for those of you who do not have Shih Tzu's...TTO is very good for our babies tear areas because they are prone to get infections in that area. TTO is an all natural antibacterial. It actually soothes and cools instantly. I'm pretty sure that this product is not a 100% strength essential oil! The company that makes these products is fully aware of how they are being used.
As far as putting oil in our pups eyes to protect them....absolutely! Our little bulgy eyed cutie pies already have an elevated risk of losing their eyes as it is, so I am going to do ANYTHING in my power to protect my girl from having her eyes damaged by any possible source! I already had a professional groomer damage her corneas from drying her hair on her face on high pressure blowing her hair forward and down TOWARD her eyes. 😈 It caused her eyelashes to scratch her corneas really bad.
When I got there to pick her up, the whites of her eyes were blazing red! I was SO ANGRY & BEYOND PISSED OFF!!! Absolutely unreal that a groomer would do something so idiotic! When i confronted her about it, she acted like she hadn't done a thing wrong... I'm not even a damn dog groomer and I could tell that she had damaged my animal. 😠 It has taken me over 2 years of very careful treatment of my Sadie's eyes to heal the corneal damage that this woman did to my girl. The Vet told me it wasn't possible to fix it, that it was permanent...but it's almost completely gone! I'm thrilled! Sadie is also my Service Dog.
I also found out that another very popular groomer in our area, turned out that the owner, who was also the main groomer, was extremely bipolar and it was later discovered that she would smack many of the dogs on the snouts with the grooming tools if they were fidgeting or not cooperating with her. Many employees quit because of this. They are still open for business, and am shocked that they still have a business license after Thule 1
The last groomer I took her to, at PetSmart, terrified her of having her front feet touched. She NEVER had that problem until that time being groomed. She hates it to this day, and hates going to the groomer now since then. I'm at the point, I'm going to start grooming her on my own. I know she will be much happier with it.
So people, don't tell us how to bathe our babies...ok? We have their best interests at heart...I promise you that! Sometimes even more so than the people that are REALLY supossed to care about them.
I can tell how much she loves and cares about her beautiful girl. If she didn't care, her fur would be all matted up and she would NOT look as gorgeous as she does. Please, back off of her.....
Now that Stassi is older since your last bath video, could you tell us what products you are using for her bath and for everyday grooming. I know you have changed some products as she has gotten older and I would like to know which products you find best for her now that she is full grown and has her adult hair

Great Job!!! The oil in the eyes will not hurt your dog and will protect them from any shampoo that might irritate them. I use mineral oil for those pups that don't like the bath. But I also use tearless shampoo on the face and head but u never know when something could splash in the eye. She's definitely a typical shih-tzu for a bath! Lol.
You should try Best Shot puppy shampoo that is tearless! Omg You will love how it makes them feel. Compare it to what you use now. Again you take excellent care of your baby! She's a lucky little girl!
Also it's okay if water gets in the ear as long as you use an ear cleaner that has alcohol in it. Just please make sure it doesn't get in her eyes!!!

That’s what I do when I give my dogs a bath I turn the water off while I’m scrubbing her. I can’t stand living in on because it’s so wasteful. Nothing against Roxanne and Stassi though because I love them and their channel.
I tried doing that, but why while I’m scrubbing her, I have to leave the water on because by the time I’m done scrubbing when the water is off, I need to wait till the water gets warm again and it takes too long... btw my dogs name is Lucy, and she’s one of those dogs that stay tiny💙💙
