Very happy you are continuing the series! Woke up this morning to a nice surprise. Great work in game, you are expanding quickly.
I was really sweating bullets during that last Village attack! Return there with 2 full centuries, and good armor. The Villages have a lot of armored nobles that can really tank damage... Such a relief you retreated before losing the officers!
Keep Centurion Marcus Publilius alive at all costs! He is your most seasoned veteran.

Apollo, I’f you want to make money fast and lower the unrest in the conquered villages, try to attack, more often, the carovanes (they are marked on the map in green).
They give a lot of resources that you can use to quickly upgrade your soldiers and your camp.
So happy you’re making this a series. Havent played the game but seems youre gonna need 2 centuries to take the town.
Still, I’d recommend like 3 or four. You’ll take much less casualties that way

I've always been a huge nerd for the Greek/Roman eras of war, so this is just perfect content for me.

A strategy I like to use is to leave farms and waypoints alone, slightly tax and/or loot hamlets
But the big villages, you either full tax them or loot,raze, and enslave them

@@PixelatedApollo1 yeah, its allowed me to conquer 30 settlements and the money i get from it allowed me to get almost 8 centuries in under 20 days without the unrest killing me

I have 1 game where the unrest is really really high, but I have a Full Legion, everything. So, its pretty easy to defeat night raids and stuff like that. Also, have you found Biggus Dickus yet? I have the dude as my 1st Century Centurion lol. Or Primus Pilus.

@Pixelated Apollo to get another century you need to fill up all the spots in the first century. When all the soldiers and officers are filled, when you recruit new troops to fill the next century. When you go to the tab on upgrading your soldiers on the upper right you can move them from the different century group.

That seige was failed because a convoy had joined up in that Village just before you attacked, and there was no sneak attacks or perfectly laid plans.
WE NEED THIS TO BE A WHOLE SERIES

Just got the game because of this video. Its actually very fun and easy to play. Theres a few glitches like units would just be totally stuck and frozen and won't move or when you disband/call to arms. Could improve on formation and diverse the building and units maybe even add more century. Some stuff for esthetic would be cool to. Or really a premapped out camp build that you can customize and use without manual build everytime. Otherwise the game is like 8.5/10. Its like RTW 2 if you got to control 1 full unit.

For future reference, when throwing a spear don't worry about shields because the spear ignores any protection offered by the enemy and will kill them anyway.

and remember upgrade from scale to mail
ALWAYS
but only upgrade all of them to plate once you have thousands of silver
The "Centurion" can still be promoted, but i suggest: Get more tents, Get more Chests, get more silver, gold, ANYTHING. But do any of that Before you get new men, and make sure to armor the 1st Century with the veteran armor due to the 1st Century having the best equiped and best skilled soldiers, so work on the 1st then work on the others, also make sure to get the Lower ranks higher Ranks, and i am pretty sure they will give Mental Boosts/Combat Boosts.

A good strategy to beat the town is to skirmish the villages by yourself then when you did some good damage attack and retreat and attack and retreat, I took my first village using this method since there are still some more defenders in the back I believe

i'm telling you lads that convoy with 50 gold and 1500 silver has at the least 100 guards at the least, at most between 200 and 400
roman camps were usually a big rectangle and the tents were arranged in rows and columns

the first time i tried to take that Town, there was a 50 gold caravan bugged in it to where it couldn't leave. so I emmassed the whole legion and maxed out everything, attacked it, and ended with like a quarter of my troops. X_X

Hi quick tip I've seen
I would recommend holding them in battle formation rather than charging.
when you look at a soilder with the select stick, it will tell you what armor they are wearing, a lot of ur guys LOOK like they have maille, but they have scale armor!
you even lost a officer in strategy games where you don't know the enemy rule number 1 is save otherwise you suffer and you should have just gone in solo seen how many there were then retreated "if you know yourself and know your enemy you need not fear the result of a 100 battles" - Sun Tzu and it's very true

Shouldn't Romans be fighting in close formation, testudo or something like that? I'm sure they won't die as quick.
They should but in this game the legions don’t change ranks, hold their shields together, or support each other like irl, so having them stand in formation just dooms the first two ranks while the charging enemy overwhelms them with more swords hitting per second
@@hanshartmann9772 Wrong. Charge should only be used near the end when your numbers are far superier. Any combat guide tells you this.
@@hyPe- Correct. Hold position in battle formation and your legionaries will throw their pilae. For a century that will kill at least a half dozen to ten enemy before they can close. With the legat shooting bow he can get a couple more at the same time so thats about a dozen kills for no loss.

You shouldnt charge your troops into them. Keeping them on hold gives you a defense Bonus. You should only use charge when they are fleeing and you just want to clean them up. When choosing a battle position you should choose a position higher or even to the enemy so that the pilums your legioniarres throw dont hit the ground.
