Those lands didnt belong to Texas, they werent controlled by them, most of them never were part of it when it was a state and along with the controlled part were Mexican lands that the government gave under the condition of respecting the mexican government as sovereign of their lands (along with no slavery and turning to catholism)

It still is and still has a lot of land (1,964,375 km2) is a lot compared to small other Latin American countries Mexico is one of the biggest located in North America (Mexico, US and Canada). Lol I have had rod trips in Mexico and it’s tiring because it is freaking big.

As a Native of the Apache Tribe in Southwest Texas, I would like to say "God Bless Texas". My Hometown State. San Antonio being my hometown city and Laredo as well.
As a Mexican, born and raised, I lived in Texas on my teenage years, exactly San Antonio. And I have very good memories. Sadly I have not returned since my 20 years, and it has been 20 more years since I stopped visiting my family there because I have now my life happily here. I hope San Antonio still to be that great city I will always remember. Viva los Spurs!

The reason why Texas declared its independence was when this one dude said to Santa Anna that to many anglos (white Americans) where settling in Texas. In response, Santa Anna made a law which no Americans can settle into Texas. The Texians and Tejanos saw this as a treat and then came the Texas Revolution

@@NIKOJEFE Texas was a country for basically 10 years. They never really retired their war debt from their revolution against Mexico and had a shaky economic base. Joining the Union and becoming a state settled all their national debt issues. They were happily and quite easily accepted into the Confederacy, having been considered a "Southern" state as a Republic slavery was legal and it remained legal when they joined the Union.
