In my opinion, Fps video game developers should make more historical shooting games instead of the Sci Fi! ***** In my opinion black ops 1 is the best call of duty of all time for many reasons. First off the multiplayer gameplay is stellar and the game has great graphics. I also love the campaign storyline and how it ties in with actually history. I also love the zombie storyline it is absolutely amazing how something fictional can seem so real just how advanced and confusing the storyline is. I love this game.
GamingNation I know and I actually want to ditch the modern day era because I noticed that people get many kills with gadgets and killstreaks rather than using a gun or knife.
I have a feeling Treyarch is going to make a Korean War CoD game then make another one that takes place in the near (or far) future with a rebirth of the Korean War. Sorta how they did with Black Ops with the first involving the Cold War with Russia and the second game being a Cold War with China. If not the Korean War, they might do the Gulf War or World War I. Or hell, they might make a CoD game where the "other side" wins a historical conflict in an alternate universe. For example, a universe where North Korea was successful in taking over the Korean pennisula. Maybe a post-apocalyptic world where there was a nuclear war during the events of the Cold War. The choices are endless.

I think this was the first mission in a cod game that made me go oh shit, war is kinda scary. even after blowing people to literal peices and laughing with my little cousin about it in WaW, but this was where the graphics were just good enough where we thought it was a movie, so it was much more real to me when a soldier was walking around dazed and confuzed, with a hole in the back of his head and half of his brain gone, as he passed by

They butchered the Vietnam War, but I’m not surprised. Couple things I noticed. Forgive me for being a history nerd. 1. The siege at Khe Sanh was in 1968, Fortunate Son came out in 69. They probably added this in for fan service. 2. Most M16s weren’t full auto, but 3 round burst. They did it right in multiplayer but not in singleplayer. 3. The Battle of Hue was not some full-scale battle fought in streets of fire. It was house-to-house, street by street...basically a small scale and more organized Stalingrad. 4. Way too many Soviet soldiers. Like 17 died in the war and you basically kill hundreds of them. It’s a video game revolving around “black ops” so yeah, history’s gonna get twisted. But if you wanna do a fullscale Nam game, get most of it right, at least.
Vietnam war is a tragedy that killed millions of innocent VNese citizens and American. As a Vietnamese who was born and raised up in Vietnam. My opinion is both Vietnam and the US lost the war. as for the political aspect, North Vietnam (aka VietCong ) won and South Vietnam with the U.S failed. As for the military aspect, both side lost and heavily damaged. The fact is the US army was sent back to America following Paris Peace Accords , VietCong didn't kill them all. Communism is evil guys. I fully support the US to help south Vietnam to fight against the Soviet Union cock sucker . Since the VietCong took over the country make it a fucking poor third world country despite having a lot of natural resources and there is no actual freedom, democracy and human right in the country.
The DRVN was nationalist before it was communist though, that's where you are wrong. Also, the United States imposed incredibly harsh economic sanctions on Vietnam after the war which practically made it impossible to repair the entire country after all the lives that were lost and the damage that was inflicted.
I agree, Communist war torn countries wouldn't be good for trade deals. However, the U.S. vetoed Vietnam from the UN, ostracised them from trading; leaving them to fend for themselves after their country was annihilated. If there was a chance to help their situation, it was all but restricted by the U.S. This only stopped in the 90's, more than 15 years after Saigon fell. It was inexcusable that they did that considering that the blame for the war can most confidently be placed on the U.S. government.
It's not so much the fact that they didn't trade with them, it's the fact that America didn't want any countries they traded with to trade with Vietnam. The U.S. could still effectively trade after the war, but since they have the greatest economy in the world, they embargoed Vietnam and other countries had to agree with this because of the U.S.' influence. Even despite the U.S. being at fault for the war (which is 100% accurate if you look at the decisions of the JCS and the government as a whole), they didn't nearly suffer to the same extent as Vietnam did in the post war period. There were over 2 million casualties in the war; only 50,000 of those were American. Over 1 million farm animals died in Operation Rolling Thunder, I think 1.5 million acres of farmland was destroyed etc. It's natural to have animosity towards Vietnam from the war for what the U.S. lost, but they were imposing such harsh conditions on them reminiscent to that of the Treaty of Versailles, even though from an impartial view, they didn't do anything wrong. This whole idea of the U.S. being the 'global police'; the American idea that 'if you put your mind to something, you can achieve anything', but not only this -- the arrogance they showed as well. For example, LBJ reckoned that he could buy out "Old Ho" and settle the tension despite the U.S. invading their country. But the main point is that the U.S. were the aggressors -- before and after the war: In 1973, Nixon proposed a trade agreement with Vietnam to start moving on from the war & the issue came to the surface in 1975 when the U.S. wanted to bring the bodies of U.S. soldiers and POWs back home. Vietnam wanted the U.S. to adhere to that trade agreement that Nixon proposed if they were to bring back the bodies etc. but Ford and Connors denied this proposal and Vietnam continued to suffer. People like LBJ and McNamara even admitted later that the war was a mistake. McNamara even said that all humans make mistakes and the U.S. policy in Vietnam war flawed. I could go on and on about what McNamara said after the war in particular because I studied him, but the point is that the U.S. were the aggressors, they couldn't admit wrongdoing, and a rather peaceful nation who had strong nationalist beliefs were completely decimated and are still recovering from the war to this day. Sorry for the many grammatical errors, can't be bothered to fix them lol.
This game play actually captures what it was like to be at war in Vietnam. In all honesty I am actually only 23, so I've studied the actual battle (the battle portrayed) and was not there to see the actual battle. That being said it was called "Khe Sahn."If only kids playing cod had any idea that this level of intense game play, as an actual human being going through this experience. In the video- you hear "this is Khe Sahn the cia will be able to move into Laos and Cambodia from here"The reality- this battle was the exact place where the Vietnamese had driven away the French in the 1950's when they had paratroopers and helicopters as well as fully automatic machine guns to defend themselves with. Imagine being a high school senior and told that you are waiting for 40,000 soldiers to come to you. Waiting for what seems like absolute death. All of a sudden one day the silence breaks. All hell rains down on you from every side. You can't tell if it's your gun, their gun, your artilery their rockets, your rpg and the whole country side is exploding in front of you as your airplanes cover the entire hillside with gigantic payloads of bombs so large that the whole ground shakes in the nearby six miles. In addition you have artillery as well as artillery aimed in from 11 miles away as well as additional artillery on the nearby hill. Litterally the whole world is exploding. Your president (Johnson) is telling everyone in your camp by radio that you are to hold that position. Here's the real truth (you aren't being told that your government needs this point to go into Cambodia and Laos for an illegal war) you are just told that you can't lose this spot. For 11 weeks. Then the army comes in and puts on a big show. For those 11 weeks day and night you hear explosions all around you. Burying your best friends. The real world stops existing. You want to go out there and kill as many of them as possible in revenge for your dead friends. Last year you learned how to drive. -If the government could lie to you and not teach you about the realities of this one battle, what are they willing to subject you to in the next big war. Consider this before you enlist. Johnson was so appalled by what he did to these young men that he refused to run for president again. Everyone is talking about wanting a ww2 game and while I'm definitely on board with that, I would be totally fine with another Vietnam or Afghanistan game like this or medal of honor 2010. The future isn't a timeline for cod anymore. I think they dragged that as far as they can go. Lets leave scifi to games like halo, crysis, doom, star wars, titanfall, etc.

***** In my opinion black ops 1 is the best call of duty of all time for many reasons. First off the multiplayer gameplay is stellar and the game has great graphics. I also love the campaign storyline and how it ties in with actually history. I also love the zombie storyline it is absolutely amazing how something fictional can seem so real just how advanced and confusing the storyline is. I love this game.
This Call of Duty just didn't feel much like the Vietnam War. I wish for the next COD to be about World War 2, the Korean War, or Vietnam War.

GamingNation I know and I actually want to ditch the modern day era because I noticed that people get many kills with gadgets and killstreaks rather than using a gun or knife.
I have a feeling Treyarch is going to make a Korean War CoD game then make another one that takes place in the near (or far) future with a rebirth of the Korean War. Sorta how they did with Black Ops with the first involving the Cold War with Russia and the second game being a Cold War with China. If not the Korean War, they might do the Gulf War or World War I.
Or hell, they might make a CoD game where the "other side" wins a historical conflict in an alternate universe. For example, a universe where North Korea was successful in taking over the Korean pennisula. Maybe a post-apocalyptic world where there was a nuclear war during the events of the Cold War. The choices are endless.

I think this was the first mission in a cod game that made me go oh shit, war is kinda scary. even after blowing people to literal peices and laughing with my little cousin about it in WaW, but this was where the graphics were just good enough where we thought it was a movie, so it was much more real to me when a soldier was walking around dazed and confuzed, with a hole in the back of his head and half of his brain gone, as he passed by

The American soldiers don't look like real Vietnam war soldiers. It's supposed to be 1968 and they look like any guy you would see today. They had nerdy glasses and mustaches then. Not shaved heads and 5 o'clock shadow.

They butchered the Vietnam War, but I’m not surprised. Couple things I noticed. Forgive me for being a history nerd.
1. The siege at Khe Sanh was in 1968, Fortunate Son came out in 69. They probably added this in for fan service.
2. Most M16s weren’t full auto, but 3 round burst. They did it right in multiplayer but not in singleplayer.
3. The Battle of Hue was not some full-scale battle fought in streets of fire. It was house-to-house, street by street...basically a small scale and more organized Stalingrad.
4. Way too many Soviet soldiers. Like 17 died in the war and you basically kill hundreds of them.
It’s a video game revolving around “black ops” so yeah, history’s gonna get twisted. But if you wanna do a fullscale Nam game, get most of it right, at least.

Vietnam war is a tragedy that killed millions of innocent VNese citizens and American. As a Vietnamese who was born and raised up in Vietnam. My opinion is both Vietnam and the US lost the war. as for the political aspect, North Vietnam (aka VietCong ) won and South Vietnam with the U.S failed. As for the military aspect, both side lost and heavily damaged. The fact is the US army was sent back to America following Paris Peace Accords , VietCong didn't kill them all.
Communism is evil guys. I fully support the US to help south Vietnam to fight against the Soviet Union cock sucker . Since the VietCong took over the country make it a fucking poor third world country despite having a lot of natural resources and there is no actual freedom, democracy and human right in the country.
The DRVN was nationalist before it was communist though, that's where you are wrong. Also, the United States imposed incredibly harsh economic sanctions on Vietnam after the war which practically made it impossible to repair the entire country after all the lives that were lost and the damage that was inflicted.
I agree, Communist war torn countries wouldn't be good for trade deals. However, the U.S. vetoed Vietnam from the UN, ostracised them from trading; leaving them to fend for themselves after their country was annihilated. If there was a chance to help their situation, it was all but restricted by the U.S. This only stopped in the 90's, more than 15 years after Saigon fell. It was inexcusable that they did that considering that the blame for the war can most confidently be placed on the U.S. government.
It's not so much the fact that they didn't trade with them, it's the fact that America didn't want any countries they traded with to trade with Vietnam. The U.S. could still effectively trade after the war, but since they have the greatest economy in the world, they embargoed Vietnam and other countries had to agree with this because of the U.S.' influence. Even despite the U.S. being at fault for the war (which is 100% accurate if you look at the decisions of the JCS and the government as a whole), they didn't nearly suffer to the same extent as Vietnam did in the post war period. There were over 2 million casualties in the war; only 50,000 of those were American. Over 1 million farm animals died in Operation Rolling Thunder, I think 1.5 million acres of farmland was destroyed etc. It's natural to have animosity towards Vietnam from the war for what the U.S. lost, but they were imposing such harsh conditions on them reminiscent to that of the Treaty of Versailles, even though from an impartial view, they didn't do anything wrong. This whole idea of the U.S. being the 'global police'; the American idea that 'if you put your mind to something, you can achieve anything', but not only this -- the arrogance they showed as well. For example, LBJ reckoned that he could buy out "Old Ho" and settle the tension despite the U.S. invading their country. But the main point is that the U.S. were the aggressors -- before and after the war: In 1973, Nixon proposed a trade agreement with Vietnam to start moving on from the war & the issue came to the surface in 1975 when the U.S. wanted to bring the bodies of U.S. soldiers and POWs back home. Vietnam wanted the U.S. to adhere to that trade agreement that Nixon proposed if they were to bring back the bodies etc. but Ford and Connors denied this proposal and Vietnam continued to suffer. People like LBJ and McNamara even admitted later that the war was a mistake. McNamara even said that all humans make mistakes and the U.S. policy in Vietnam war flawed. I could go on and on about what McNamara said after the war in particular because I studied him, but the point is that the U.S. were the aggressors, they couldn't admit wrongdoing, and a rather peaceful nation who had strong nationalist beliefs were completely decimated and are still recovering from the war to this day.

This game play actually captures what it was like to be at war in Vietnam. In all honesty I am actually only 23, so I've studied the actual battle (the battle portrayed) and was not there to see the actual battle. That being said it was called "Khe Sahn."If only kids playing cod had any idea that this level of intense game play, as an actual human being going through this experience. In the video- you hear "this is Khe Sahn the cia will be able to move into Laos and Cambodia from here"The reality- this battle was the exact place where the Vietnamese had driven away the French in the 1950's when they had paratroopers and helicopters as well as fully automatic machine guns to defend themselves with. Imagine being a high school senior and told that you are waiting for 40,000 soldiers to come to you. Waiting for what seems like absolute death. All of a sudden one day the silence breaks. All hell rains down on you from every side. You can't tell if it's your gun, their gun, your artilery their rockets, your rpg and the whole country side is exploding in front of you as your airplanes cover the entire hillside with gigantic payloads of bombs so large that the whole ground shakes in the nearby six miles. In addition you have artillery as well as artillery aimed in from 11 miles away as well as additional artillery on the nearby hill. Litterally the whole world is exploding. Your president (Johnson) is telling everyone in your camp by radio that you are to hold that position. Here's the real truth (you aren't being told that your government needs this point to go into Cambodia and Laos for an illegal war) you are just told that you can't lose this spot. For 11 weeks. Then the army comes in and puts on a big show. For those 11 weeks day and night you hear explosions all around you. Burying your best friends. The real world stops existing. You want to go out there and kill as many of them as possible in revenge for your dead friends. Last year you learned how to drive. -If the government could lie to you and not teach you about the realities of this one battle, what are they willing to subject you to in the next big war. Consider this before you enlist. Johnson was so appalled by what he did to these young men that he refused to run for president again.
