  • In this episode we go snorkeling in two different spots with limited success and go for a hike to a mountain top and have a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. All this in the El Coyote anchorages in Bahia Concepcion in the Sea of Cortez.

This is our trawler life story.
We retired early and decided to make a big change. We sold everything and moved aboard our 54' Cheoy Lee passagemaker, a “go anywhere in the world”, ocean going power boat.
That was in 2014 and we have never looked back.
Now in our late 50's we are free of work and we are living aboard and cruising our trawler full time.
We have two additional crew members, feline brothers, Blake and Barkley. Yes, we have two brave (sorta) boat cats, on board!
Join us and our crew, on our adventures as we explore new places, discover more about our trawler and what makes her work, and learn more about ourselves in our young retirement years. Our hope is to entertain and inspire you to pursue your own passions through telling our story of our cruising trawler lifestyle.
Thanks for watching, subscribing, and liking Cruising Sea Venture!
Best, Jim, Rosy, Blake and Barkley

Greetings from Belle Fourche, SD. Thank you for the video. Nice work defying gravity in the heat, you were way up there. Wishing you light winds (cooling) and clear seas (snorkeling).

Thanks you two! Missed you, I’m currently in the hospital for open heart surgery tomorrow. Your videos are fun to watch and dream about seeing you out there some day. I grew up in Everett and Mukilteo so when I found you guys it was like finding and watching a couple old friends on their adventure. Stay safe and I’ll be watching as I recover!

When the visibility isn't that great and even if it is, pay more attention to the rocky walls and outcroppings. At first everything will be hard to recognize but, once you do you'll spot them from far away. What to look for? scallops, mussels, abalone, sea urchins all very tasty.
The adventure is right under you. pick up a good strong dive knife to pry with and a catch bag. Love the Videos, I just get overly excited when I see a missed opportunity being a seafood junkie and a scuba diver for 40+ yrs

BIG TIME! I'm in west Texas and they are everywhere now. It seems like they are hiking in flip flops also....not good.

When you are underwater it sounds like Rice Kristy cereal, snap crackle pop. What is that sound?
