The goals of Project Calcium were to define the low-temperature deposition problem, identify the calcium-based components that are responsible for the formation of the deposits, develop ways to predict their formation, and identify possible methods to mitigate the formation of these deposits. To achieve the goals of Project Calcium, detailed sampling of utility boilers and laboratory-scale studies coupled with state-of-the-art methods to determine the inorganic components in coals and coal ash-derived materials were conducted. Boiler Sampling was also performed. The work involved sampling coal, entrained ash, deposits and slags from five full-scale utility boilers combined with detailed advanced characterization of the materials. The results of this work aided in identifying the key phenomena to focus the laboratory studies and in model verification. Field testing was conducted at three utilities. (This is what I found on google)

The diagnosis criteria have been changed to include more people with the condition, and children are not dying from VPDs like they would have say...thirty years ago. Since they aren't dying from VPDs, and because autism almost certainly has a genetic component, they're having children of their own and passing it on to their kids.
By the way, anecdotes=/=data, nor does correlation=causation.

Oh my gosh, that's horrible, I'm disabled, I can't walk anymore, I've lost the ability, I'm in pain 24 hours a day, but I'm still treated as a human. This breaks my heart for these children, and I also want to say, even here in the United states, things still need to be a lot better for people with disabilities. I'm so sorry poor babies..
36 years in nursing. I have seen shock therapy really help people when used correctly. Not on children but on adults.

I am originally from St Louis, Mo. I wonder how many of my older relatives died of cancer because of the experiments done in the 50s and 60s with spraying radioactive and the people were told they were spraying for bugs.

Actually, electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) *IS* still used in the UK for patients with severe mental illness that won't respond to medication. It's (comparatively) more humane these days though, since the patient is at least sedated before the treatment begins.

Correction: ECT isn't illegal in most countries as stated. It is usually administered under light general anesthetic and though the side effects mentioned are accurate, it is still deemed ti be an effective treatment in many countries, especially for people who are unable to utilize pharmacological alternatuves.

Danny Burke, I'm a nurse in behavioral health and I can tell you that electric shock therapy is legal and still performed to this day. The huge difference in the past and present treatment is the procedure is done under a twilight anesthesia, vital signs are monitored and the the electric impulse is very gentle. It induces mild seizures that for patients not responding to medication, are literally reset mentally often being cured if not greatly improved. Just saying.. thanks so much for your channel. I love it! 👍

Electro shock is actually effective in the short term for some mental illnesses and not outlawed in most countries, however we use General anaesthetic today

Electro convulsive therapy (aka)electro shock therapy, is still completely legal and heavily used. It's not really been banned anywhere. Sooo maybe do some more fact checking there.

Electric Shock Therapy is still used today. Doctors have a better understanding of how to use it properly now. They usually use anesthetic and only use low voltage shocks. Done correctly, it can help some mental health patients tremendously for short periods of time.
It is also used for pain treatment and has home applications with TENS machines.

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) has not been banned at all, it's considered to be one of the most effective techniques for chronic mental illness. From my experience though, it should be banned.
My friend got it back in the early 2000. He said, my mom brought me extra underwear, cause even though asleep you pee a little. Also there is a new device out there to stimulate your temple area... so who knows, may have found how to help without hurting.
The ease of inflicting damage on others is something I could/ will never stand. Makes my blood boil. And it is always the poor/ underdeveloped/ uninformed that are INTENTIONALY made to suffer. I hope for lengthy and painful punishment for culprits. Which is seldom the case.
