Secret rooms are secret for a reason. Obviously - whats inside is often not meant to be discovered - just hidden away, hopefully forever. That doesn't always go to plan though - sometimes people find them, and whats inside isn't always pretty. Its possible to read the tapes. These tapes aren't that old. U can find nice music player box for tapes. From maybe some shop that sells old items. Idk about USA, but I used to have music player for such tapes. We call these cassets. And I think somewhere in my basement, I still have that tape reader even its recorder

I don't think the black mold one was scary, but instead props to the previous owner for alerting the new owners about the black mold problem and kept their children safe. Maybe the "secret room" wasn't so secret at all and the previous owner was confident that the new owners would eventually found it and thought maybe it would be fun if he left a secret note in the secret room.

Joshua's room sounds like an abused child situation, and it's really sad to me. The room they were making newspapers in though is really cool, not scary at all once you know the context. The one with the workbench and gargoyle sounds cool too. The squatter ones though, those are really freaky to me. The one where they found the candy and dolls though, that might be a homeless kid (going off of the fact that there were the dolls).
Somehow, I still want to have a house with as many secret rooms and passages as possible, just for the fun of it. Hopefully no one else will find it.
