- A Stage adaptation of Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was first performed in 1969 at The Muny in St Louis. The production was reprised at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on October 18, 1979. The show closed, November 18, 1979, after 38 performances for the annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Snow White re-opened on January 11, 1980, and performed 68 times until March 9 of the same year, a total of 106 performances at Radio City Music Hall. A VHS and Betamax of the concert was released in 1981; this is that recording

This was my first real experience with Snow White. The movie doesn't hold a candle because this is so much better.
I think Disney should bring this back to Broadway again.
KORYBUG BURKETT: Good idea
@@korybugburkett8184 Live action movie should be like this one too
@@snooopyland Sesame Street
Your right
agreed that and make tangled a broadway show like they did to beauty and the beast. the little mermaid. aladdin. and frozen
My grandfather had a recorded VHS tape of this show when I was a child and I watched this version all the time. Sadly, he passed away from cancer. I miss you, Grandpa and I love you. ❤😢
Thanks for the memory.
Same exact memory of my grandfather and he died under the same circumstances. Miss him so much too!! He taped this for me when I was a kid.
Could they have used an uglier actress for the evil queen???!!!

Can I ask a question.
1:15:45 You can clearly hear the children screaming for Snow White to not eat the poisoned apple.
I need an HD remaster of this so bad!!
Don’t know how I’ve only just stumbled onto this but I’m glad I did.
I love this version beaucause it tells more of the story
That's a Kermit the Frog
I watched this over and over when I was a little girl. Favorite version!
It's The Muppets show the very of Special Guest Stars Snow White
it surprises me that no mention of who played the animal critters is in the credits. they make this just as memorable.
Great point. And 100% agree
I remember when HBO was playing this. I was in second grade when I saw it for the first time. My dad had just bought our family’s first Panasonic vcr and this was the first thing he taped for me. I watched it over and over and over. It’s my favorite Snow White. Thank you so much for putting this online! 😍 It’s truly magical to see it again after 40 years! It reminds me of how far back my love of musicals go, starting with The Muppet Movie, Mary Poppins, and this.
I remembered that this movie is on Disney plus and it's also in the program Once Upon a Studio.
I'm gonna call it before someone else does. The upcoming remake is not gonna look any better than this!
That remake is looking like a complete trainwreck. The only thing that might get me to see it is Gal Gadot playing the Evil Queen and that's it. Everything else looks hideous. Rachel Zegler, who will play Snow White, also comes across as an extremely spoiled brat. She can't hold a candle to Mary Jo Salerno.
@@entertainer1987 Does The Muppets Show Of Disney's Snow White and the Dwarfs
This is my childhood fave movie, love it till now.
Wooooow! I adored this play when I was little. 🥰
They should make a live action Snow White movie talking about the evil queens past starting from when she was a young girl and meeting the king and showing her becoming the evil queen! That would be amazing
Did you know? This production is a reprise of the 1969 MUNY version!
I love the 80s
Seven dwarfs lives in the house 39:34
From, 1:18:28, 1:19:40, 1:20:04, 1:20:18 and 1:20:43 is my favorite scene in the show
I like how Anne Francine gave her interpretation of Queen Grimhilde some over the top movements.
Original 1st Air Date: Sunday, December 14, 1980 as part of HBO's "Standing Room Only" series.
If it wasn't for Disney and this show, Radio City would have closed forever. They spent thousands of dollars on refurbishing the theater.
I wonder why in the Disney classic of Snow White her dad didn’t came out

Snow White re-opened on January 11, 1980, and performing 68 times until March 9 of the same year, a total of 106 performances at Radio City Music Hall. So yes, early 1980

Mary Jo Salerno will ALWAYS be THE live-action Snow White. She perfectly captures the spirit of the character just the way Walt Disney had envisioned her to be. Rachel Zegler, who will star in the film remake, will NEVER hold a candle to her. Zegler is an extremely crazy and woke person
Ok. I mean, you’re a crazy racist right wing job but go off I guess.
Rachel Zegler is playing Snow White? More like Snow White-Adjacent! 😂
I second that emotion. I was 11 years old when I saw Ms. Mary Jo Salerno play Snow White. I know she would never read this but if she did I want to say "Ms. Salerno you are the greatest. Please be safe, take care, and best of happiness to you for always."

A million times better than the upcoming crap featuring Snow Woke and the 7 hippies starring the insufferable Rachel Zegler.
My thoughts exactly. That live-action remake looks like it is going to be a complete trainwreck. Rachel Zegler is a crazy woke brat. This version is delightful and Mary Jo Salerno will always be the live-action Snow White.

What’s wrong with the Queen’s voice? Sounds like she had a bad cold. Very harsh and raspy.
