- This is an AMT 1969 Chevelle SS 396 that I built back in 2010-2011. It came out clean and won a few awards at the time.

I love Chevy orange cars, so this build was right up my alley!
Thanks for showing it.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Those rally wheels from that AMT 69 Chevelle kit are one of my favorites rallys
Cool!
Ralph, A totally beautiful build!...Color is great!. Thanks for the share! Aloha, Wayne
Thanks a bunch
a friend of mine has a real hugger orange 69 SS-396 aluminum headed 375hp standard car, quite a rare combo. Thanks for sharing your build...
Very cool! That is a rare one indeed!
I just love your knowledge. How nice that someone you knew gave you her dad's builds
Thank you!
Nice kit. I've done two of them, and just ordered another, to do the custom version. 👍
Right on! I had planned a Yenko long ago but did the Revell instead.
Very nice build. You did an outstanding job with this one. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!
That 68/69 Revell kit is so nice. All those Revell special editions really. Nice build up of the old amt though. Looks awesome! And I like your friends dads build too. That’s a fun looking build. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Many Revell kits are nice!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler definitely!
Great job on the Chevelle 👍😎
Thanks 👍
Very nice build Raoul. Thank you for sharing this and your friends story. Have a blessed day. Steven 😀👍🏻
Thank you!
I had a buddy in the 90's who had a light yellow 69 SS396 with a black vinyl top, bench seat, 4 speed on the tree and factory reverb. It went to the scrapyard after he dropped a valve one Saturday night.
They were plentiful back then. I had a friend that was showing off his 70 Buick Skylark and was revving his motor. Till a rod came out the block!
Nice 69 Chevelle and congrats for placing with the kit.
Thanks 👍
Nice builds! Great story about your friend and her father. Too bad you never got to meet him and talk models.
Thanks. Yeah. I never really got to meet him.
cool chevelle build and nice details
Thanks!
Nice work on the 69, looks great! I always enjoy the stories and history that you share in your videos.
Thank you very much!
Very nice builds!
Thanks!
sweet build dou😁🤩
Thank you!
very nice build … thanks for the great video too!
No problem 👍 Thank you!
Nice build and I enjoyed your description of the differences between the '68 and '69 SS. I had a new Hugger orange '69 SS 396 with the 350 horse option. It's difficult to authenticate a "real" '69 SS but the Hugger Orange and Daytona Yellow colors were only available with the SS package so if the paint code indicates either and hasn't been altered, it is a true SS. I think that's the only way to confirm without a build sheet. You mentioned hood stripes which are popular with modern restorations but I don't recall ever seeing them while I own. I've been told it was a dealer option and not available from the factory but have never researched. Your video encourages me to get busy on a Revell kit picked up recently.
Thank you. Did I say hood stripes? I know those are only on 70-72. 69 Yenko had them but not from Chevy. I missed that in editing.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler -- Not sure if you did... I probably heard you mention the optional side stripes. I see a lot of '69s with hood stripes but was pretty sure they weren't an option... until '70 as you mention.
Very nice
Thanks
dad would say the doors are interchangeable maybe nova chevelle sometimes jus not the hood😁🤩scoot😎ps great story that 69 is quite the gift 😋🤣😅
Thanks!
Even though the Revell kit is far superior a nice version can still be built,i only wish that when Missing Link offered more correct taillights i would have bought some to use on the 69'convertible.
I bought one set and have them in the stash. May use them on the convertible.
what color did you paint the wheels ???
That I don’t remember. I think I airbrushed Testor’s Steel on them.
