- As a teacher and theatre maker, Lyndsay Muir is a confident communicator. As a trans woman she knows communication can be "a bit tricky", so she came up with the idea of Tea with Trans.
Lyndsay is a senior lecturer at Bishop Grosseteste University, where she teaches on the undergraduate applied drama degree programme and leads the PGCE Secondary Drama course in initial teacher education. With colleagues in the school of Teacher Development she has researched the impact of 'Diversity Week' and she is working towards a Professional Doctorate at Manchester University, with practice centred research around applied theatre with trans people.
She is a member of the Adam World Choir, an online community of trans and non-binary people who form a 'digital chorus' for the National Theatre Scotland's production of Adam. (Edinburgh Festival August 2017 and beyond). She's interested in how to creatively orchestrate face to face conversations with trans people as a vehicle towards demystifying trans identities. I'm not crying or anything
I thought it was quite presumptuous of them to think they needed to SPEAK “fix it” because someone in the elevator saw them & looked uncomfortable. Why do they think they have to fix anything? If you’re comfortable leave it at that. Straight people feel the same about other straight people, it’s not all about you.
Why do most trans men look like men while most trans women such as this one look like a man in a dress with a man's voice?
Partly because for the most part people can't transition until after puberty so if the voice has dropped it's dropped and won't transition to typical female register. Women's voices will drop but there are limits. The few trans men I know look fairly masculine but not ultramasculine I also know cis men and women who get mistaken for the opposite gender. Tamsin Greig the actress is often misgendered! I think people are overconfident in this regard. My own difficulty is with older people and teenagers I often cannot tell.
First off, she doesn’t sound like she has a mans voice. Secondly, she most likely couldn’t transition till after puberty and testosterone does so much more physically than estrogen. T changes the body a lot, that’s why the tiny tiny percentage of detransitioners can never go back to how their body once was.
Why don't you spend more time getting to know people, and actually observing them, instead of cowering in your little safe space acting like a troll?
As I viewed this video, there's the oddest inexplicable, yet profoundly cringeworthy feeling of watching someone humiliating themselves.

As I read your post I was bothered by the fact that you worry way too much about what's in other peoples pants, what they look and sound like, that the rest of the world that's far better than you is living rent-free in your head.
