Had the privilege of stumbling upon a roadside mom and pop restaurant in the countryside near Hatyai. My Thai friend and I were the only ones in there. We ordered and waited with great anticipation when came along the husband. As casually as can be he sat with us and explained to us the magic of the food we were about to partake in. We listened in disbelief so after our lunch he invited us for a tour. We were blown away. This man had created a little paradise where every plant, bush, tree, insects, bats and bees he cared for played an interwoven role in self sustainably. We were treated to snack on fruits, herbs and even honey. God I miss Thailand. Thanks for bringing me back… until I come back. 🙏
You speak of gratitude and have a genuine love and respect for the people of Thailand. Man, that is so refreshing. Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Thanks, brother. I needed this. Peace and light...
Thank you my friend 🙏😌🇹🇭
This is my life when I was a kid. we grew our rice and I helped my parents did farm rice. Unluckily My dad sold our farm because of poor and dept. 😢
I was stationed in Thailand in 1965-1966 and fell in love with the people and the country. I am now 78 years old and wish everyday that I had moved to Thailand when I retired in 2000, but my health prevented that, but I would give anything to have been able too retire in Thailand. I have been in 33 states in the U.S. and 28 countries and nothing compares to Thailand. My concern with you and your beautiful family is, the SNAKES. Do you have any problems with snakes? I saw so many deadly snakes while I was there (Korat, Ubon, Udorn, NKP) I worry about your families safety. Please reply.
Jim is never late to live your dream !!!! You can come to thailand
You don't see that much danger snakes like cobra in the northern or northeast parts. Cobra snake mostly they were found in central region of Thailand and King cobra only found in southern.
Never stop dreaming. Hope you get to Thailand one day. Good luck with your health👍
Jim don’t stop your dream come as soon oneday 😊
Snakes have a bad reputation but they will leave you alone if you leave them alone :) you could watch some youtube channel like rupertsreptiles and davidsfeed to learn more about those fascinating creature!
such humble people and so productive . And so thankful and harf working people. I as a native american envy them.We to get food from the land but due to wild fires and land slides and pollution etc . We cannot fish right now.
I have missed getting real Thai food this year
Closest thing to the authentic taste I have found is £20-£30 a dish!
God I miss Thailand!
Easy to make it man
I would like to compliment that your girl friend is so natural and beautiful. you are lucky compared to others.
Phad Thai is delicious 😋
Excellent video Ryan, you live a very simple, humble life and you are a very fortunate person.
I am so happy to see your vlogs everyday. Sooo destressing. God bless you and your family!
Hi Ryan - I am away from home on business, and bingeing on your vids. Provides a great option to commercial TV! I've visited Thailand 5 times or so on business, but I never get to see the side of life you are showing so vividly. Limited time - tight schedule - work priorities. I'm also not ashamed to say I was scared shitless the first trip, a fear of the unknown and a different culture. Your videos are convincing me I need to take the Mrs. with me to check out more of this beautiful country. Thanks for your gentle, sensitive, no-bullshit thoughts.
Thanks Andrew, wishing you well with your decision 🙏☺️🇹🇭
that food was worth 10 times the money, simple and I bet delicious, nice video Ryan, forget the haters,
Thank you Kevin, yes it’s good stuff and we go to this restaurant a lot, thanks for supporting the channel my friend hope you’re all good brother 🙏😌🙏
Wonderful mate loved the harvesting
Your face in the restaurant was like like a kid in sweet shop
As always an interesting and informative video . It's great to see real Thai cooking amazing to watch . The women work so hard amazing that your mother-in-law would think of doing all that on her own . Nice vlog as always stay safe
I don't waste a grain of rice when I have my meals. Because we were taught by our grandparents that farmers put in a lot of effort and sweat when growing them.
Late King Rama9 was also play saxophone and wrote many songs.
Thanks for sharing another great vlog, very interesting and enjoyable.
I’m sure the authentic Thai food there is so much tastier than from our Thai restaurants here in Australia.
What a great simple lifestyle, so honest . Found it humbling watching how everything is manual , especially by the women. What a privilege thank you
Best Wishes and keep safe 👍
Food looked fantastic! 💞💞💞
Nice one mate! You've captured everything about Thailand's rural life in a short video.
I am fascinated by the simple, healthy life your family lives all my blessings to you all. Oh and the places you travel to are dreamlike
That Pad Thai makes me want to make my plane reservations NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
All of that food looks delicious. Can often pay 10 times more for the same dish in a tourist area and won't be anywhere near as nice as that stuff!
Those meals look amazing!!! 😍😍
2 years ago you and Damo so young 555 (have only seen you in 2023! Love pad khra pao and pad thai. Have Thai shop 50 meters away, the same Thai woman cookin for last 4-5 years. Amazing simple food .

I enjoyed that thanks mate
Another great video mate the food looked amazing and cheap as chips brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing your life with all of us. It’s so wonderful to see.
That's the thing I miss when on holidays in Thailand is the fresh cheap Thai food and had to watch the weight due to the snacking at different stands during the day,
Nice coverage of aspects of the family life and then some classic jazz nice one.
I always find peace and happiness in your videos...sanctuary in my mind.
Thank you...Enjoy your day...with a smile.
You are right, having land is a blessing as you can grow your own stuff. We cannot grow rice, but the quest for the product with a higher margin is ongoing for any Thai farmer who has to live from this income. Unfortunately, it produces the price up, price down cycles too when the farmers see the price of a specific crop goes up, all plant it, but by the time they harvest there is surplus on the market and the price drops, often to a level it is no longer economically viable. One has to find its niches which need several years of lead up time.
Thank you very much for this insight on your farm. I did see, you started to build a canopy over your water tanks to shade them. Good decision.
Great video and you are 1 lucky boy your lady pushes all the life buttons ,happy days look at that lovely food wow
Feel paradise in the world under the same SUN
You had me at Restaurant! :) Great vlog and the cooking demos were on point- loved it. Thanks fr sharing your life on and off the farm - great stuff, Ryan! :)

I used to like eating bags of pork scratchings when I was younger...I must say the food looks really nice, when the lockdown ends I must see if there is a thai restaurant in Manchester.
Only came across your channel a day or two ago, liking the content I have seen.
There are a few Thai restaurants in Manchester, and you can buy bags of freshly cooked pork scratchings in Oldham market
That food looks so tasty mate 👌🇹🇭🙏
My ladies parents work hard, between raising grandchildren & farming it's hard graft
Nice work mate🙏🌾☀️🇹🇭
Happy life
Thai people are so nice and friendly
I love Thai food!
🙏🇹🇭🙏. Great insight to the true Thailand
Cheers Macca 🙏
🙏🇹🇭🙏
Good idea to make videos less often. This one seemed to flow better, interesting footage and interview in the restaurant .
I can relate to ur video, cause I farm to make a living here in Cambodia..I'm from America.
nice food in aunties restaurant - some of the best meals in thailand are in those local places
i only eat thai food when i go on vacation there, no western food will pass my mouth which is sometimes difficult
great to see the foreman out helping the slaves with the rice, the yield loos smaller than i imagined from the amount of area planted - i wont be looking at my rice in the same way again - gutted it wasnt drying on the roads - always amazing to see the roads covered at rice harvest time.
i hope you are enjoying the extra time you are no getting with su familia
Agreed, the food here is the best. I decided to go and do my bit! In fact we have an upcoming vid that I will email you about where I do all the work!
@@lifeinruralthailand again with your flashy editing - you cant con me
😂😂😂
They are lucky to have land. I am living in Bangkok , rat race , no land , rent house. Working to pay rent.
Classic... That's all the wolrd
Good saying about how those people appreciate their land in the things they do have I wish people in the United States have that kind of same mentality can't wait to go back to Thailand truck driver Lonnie out here loving your videos I love Thailand
some People in the US Countryside still have that mentality and appreciation for their Land. They are called Rednecks, Trumpsters or other Slurs by the Media
@@johnnylangen2839 I was just referring to people in general about them not appreciating a lot of things they have I know there's a lot of farmers who love their land out here in the US and they do work hard to keep their land and their crops
@@richiesd1 so all Country Side People are Trumpsters ?
Why should People not like Thailand ?
Are you a Moron by any Chance ?
You won the lottery and found Paradise! Better than money & fancy stuff , True Happiness! Dream Life 🙏🙏🙏
🙏🤩🇹🇭
Don’t change a thing love your life 🙏
ฝรั่งหัวใจไทย💖🇹🇭
Found this channel...got hooked...Lovely family, simple and happy life.. What about the health care system there? I heard it's great...thank you for this vlog...love rice and Thai food....
Thank you 🙏
It makes my heart sad I am not in Thailand eating this dish this year. Damn Covid and all. This is one of my favorite Thai dishes. I like it best with a fried egg. Impossible to get fresh Thai basil in Wyoming most of the time and impossible in the winter. "". Sounds familiar in my house also. We have to drive 883 km round trip to Denver to get Asian food and many times they don't even have decent basil. One trip in three I can find a decent papaya for Som Tom.
cool ending
Thanks my friend 🙏😌🇹🇭
Wow Ryan I too love the local thai restaurant's they are much tastier and cheaper
That Pad Krapow has made me hungry 😋

Thank you Terry, wishing you and your family well 🙏☺️🇹🇭
Easy to make pat krapow at home in the us if you buy krapow leaves at a local asia market.
Wow, what a lot of hard work for mum to do on her own !! Thanks for the insight Ryan 👍.. Is all the rice stored for use , or is any sold ? Great vlog mate 👍👍👍
Stored to use fir the year 🙏😌🇹🇭
Great to see Damo getting used to camera, she"sa star
🙏🤩🇹🇭
I think Thailand was one of my favorite countries. Phucket and the Phi Phi Islands I think. Long time ago. Before tsunami. I remember where I was when the news came on to report it. I say a prayer.
Phet nik noy khon gohoke lol. I wondered about your use of Thai in the first video I watched of you, seems you poot pasat Thai Di.... great job integrating into the community there. I am not so lucky it seems in the community I live in, cultural boundaries are most difficult to break here, I am happy for you sir!
