- The U.S. Army has selected BAE Systems BvS10 Beowulf tracked vehicle to produce its new Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicle, or CATV. The CATV gives our Arctic Warriors greater mobility and increased survivability in extreme Arctic conditions.
Delivery of this modernized capability for Arctic and extreme cold-weather mission sets is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2023, with the U.S. Army Northern Warfare Training Center, Fort Wainwright, Alaska, designated as the first unit equipped. The award is a firm-fixed-price requirement contract valued at $278 million. The Army intends to purchase 110 vehicles for the active-duty Army and Army National Guard.

Used by the British Army in Afghanistan. Very successful. Thanks to Sweden for this design!
Looks pretty similar to the Swedish "Bandvagn 206" and "208" (tracked vehicle), but that one was made back in the 1970's
Its called bandvagn 410 in Sweden
I agree the European armies are using those Hagglunds since the 1970's or 1980's.
And now the US Army thinks there fantastic ? Kind of late of you ask mee !!!
@@nicovantol7363the army used the BV206 previously under the name SUSV. The CATV is just an unarmored variant of the BVS10 used by many European countries. Both the CATV/BVS10 and SUSV/BV206 are produced by BAE Systems
@@nicovantol7363 Beowulf isn't the same as 206 or 208, it's an updated design. Few vehicles are as mobile and agile for the type of terrain it is intended to operate in.
Yes Norway hade 202/203 already in the 1960s I saw them in the Norwegian mountains around the ski resorts in 1968 with their military.
COOL! A Modern Goat!
Reminds me of our Arctic SUS-V's. They were unstoppable.
SUSV is the older BV206 made by the same company. Fun to drive!
Almost downvoted for overruse of the word "Gamechanger" but saves by starring this incredible vehicle
This vehicle is giving me flashback to a Cobra vehicle from G.I. Joe back in the 80s.
What was the gijoe cobra vehicle called ?
@@tonystarks315 Cobra H.I.S.S.
@@bobbymoss6160 thanks a lot I will add it to my collect. My parents bought me almost all the GIJoE figures and many vehicles including the very large size swing wing tomcat jet what a great time I had !!!
It is just like the British Army’s Viking Troop Carrier
Same company manufacture it, BAE Systems Hägglunds.
The music is fire.
We had these in 1988 called cut V
It performed well in Afghanistan. Good choice US Army!
An entire unit and base whose job is to prepare for Russian encounters. That should tell you a lot.
Hope it's got a heater. Updated gamma goat.
I drive a BV206, the older unarmoured predecessor to the BV410. The heater in that, both front and rear, is similar to a small nuclear reactor. If troops have wet clothes, you can hang them up in the rear wagon, turn up the heating and drive around for a while. Dry as a bone clothes :-)
Most military kids don't have a clue about the Gamagoat😂! Or little mule ammo haulers!
Updated version of what's available already.....
Were you watching this hoping it was completely different from every other vehicle it looks identical to? Fckin loser lol
Noted
What is new?
Its a advanced Gamma Goat lol HOOAAH!
Interesting but you omitted one important detail: how many cases of beer can that rear unit haul? Anyhow many boxes of Dominos pizza can the front unit carry?
8 metric tons, divide and distribute to spread the load.
1 Pizza plus 2200 gallons of beer.
This is a 40-50 year old Swedish concept, many European armies has had this for 30++. Years, actually a very old and proven concept
Center of gravity is clearly to high, it will roll right down the mountain
No.
Not a new concept. The Army used these in the 50s & 60s. Also USSR/Russia has used this same design type for many, many years only on a bigger level. But the Northern Warfare Units definitely need a Sno-Cat vehicle
What matters is ours works better and looks cooler.
Correct, the Swedish company has been making this type of vehicle since the 1960ies.
Put a mark 19 grenade launcher with a turret ring
A new Gamma Goat???? LOL
..."Пелагея"...
SUSV on steroids!
Thanks, it’s good for us to against Putin❤
Copy of the British viking, very good machine 👍🏻
BB-206 --- folks....
What?
IF ANY OF THESE VEHICLES DON'T HAVE ANTI DRONE AND DRONE TECHNOLOGY, THEY WILL NOT MAKE IT, SO YOU BETTER GET WITH IT OK.
That tech is easily attached to US trucks, I'm sure they can do the same on the bvs10
THESE VEHICLES BETTER LEARN FROM THE UKRAINIAN WAR BECAUSE THE NEXT ONE WILL LOOK TOTALLY DIFFERENT WITH DRONES AS THE MAIN ADVERSAQRIES, DEADLY, LONG RANGE AND MANY OF THEM, A LOT CHEAPER THAN THESE VEHICLES THEMSELVES
So because of drones you don't need CASEVAC or get supplies to units?
Of course we Swedes soon will update existing BV-systems etc. from Hägglunds / BAE with CC fully automatic antidrone response systems
Hagglunds knockoff
It is a Hagglunds.
This isnt new is been used for years just a newer look.
Better shell against rifles and stuff. The older one 206 did not have so good protection from AK fire.
New and better model.
Just like any car brand, Hägglunds churn out new models of BVs all the time.
@@m8pwa_ Beouwulf is not armoured.
@@AlexKall , okay but does it not have some kind of rifle protection.
Treads are to skinny, they are not wide enough
They have been working for 60+ years. So, either you know something no one else does (and need to inform the people at Hägglunds about it or warn U.S. Army so that they dont buy this crap), or you know nothing about that.
first

It better be armored, otherwise it's a sitting duck.
I suppose you would rather walk.?. Makes you the walking penguin.😂🤔.
brilliant observation... a vehicle with no armor is in danger on a battlefield... how many stars are you wearing there general? 😂
@@MarkBerenger “Bro.🤔. Armored or not, equipment is a sitting target 🎯. Grow Up.🤔.

They always seam to surround the biggest Space Holes 🕳️😂.!.
Depends on how the US wants to use it. I think they said they are going for the unarmored varient, but it can be armored, and partly to be used the national guard. So lots of shenanigans in the rear with logistics is my uneducated guess, but it can also be used as a transport for arctic rangers or SOF units like it.
ducks go south in the winter
Won't need these.
Greta and AL Gore said everything is melting
Camper version?
I like it but it just looks like it would flip easily.
Superstable i all directions actually. All weight is underneath.
haha thats swedish lol
The worst name
It's like a Kharkovchanka for Soyboys.
Nah it is not.
Russian copy 😅
Nah... not so much. This one works. And the Russians bought BV from Sweden so... nah.
Russians copied Sweden
Swedish copy!
Totally a copy of Russian design... But it works and has for decades.
Nah there you are wrong. What does russians have who is not a nock off from Western thingys.
Nah, fully Swedish
Swedish duh
Roflmfao, you guys have to stop using the term "game changer" when you have no idea what it means and you lose to Russia all the time, nevermind these are half the size of Russia's designs and as usual you are decades behind. 😂
Who is losing to Russia, Ivan? 😅
@Gerle71 nice programmed racist response, racist logic dictates I can only be Russian right? Lmfao 😂
@Gerle71 america has been for a decade in ukraine you know? No? That's weird...
@@tylerdurden4006 The US has no troops fighting in Ukraine, you know? No? That's weird...
You Russian agents aren't very good at your job.
So who is it that's losing to Russia, hmm?
@@Gerle71 hilarious how amer8cans can still be so weak minded after 10 years of civil war in ukraine. How many "game changers" have failed against Russia? 50?
The original is Russian
*Swedish
Swedish...
Nope.
Sweden has been building vehicles like this since the 1950s.
The Russian version started out as a license build of a Swedish Hägglunds model.
