    Hi Steve, you guys do a great job, I love the vids, thanks for sharing.
    I am restoring a Viscount and I was wondering if you have any feedback about the longevity of the Dulux epoxy enamel? Have you seen any of your resto’s after a few years and how did the paint look, Chaulky?
    Thanks, James.

      Yes, its a good durable paint and is still looking good on the vans after several years. I am just about to paint another van and will be using it again. I am not really a painter though and it is likely that there are better paints out there, I choose what's easy, available and what I can get a reasonable finish with given my facilities, gear and skill.

      Cool.
      The finish on the aqua/polished aluminum looked pretty good when you zoomed in.
      I would of liked to have 2pack Auto painted mine, but trying to save costs as it’s blowing out.☺️
      I’ve ended up using the White Knight system, but after lots of deliberation, chose the quick dry water base enamel for the top coat. Just based on its longer warranty claims (maybe less yellowing and chaulky then the epoxy, we’ll see)
      Thanks for replying 👍

    Hey, great video thanks! Can I ask how much primer, and how much paint you used please? This has inspired me to have a go at our friends caravan 👍🍻

      I only really have experience with the Caraparks so would be reluctant to comment on painting your van, I'm not really a painter either and you would be best to get specific advice I would think :-)

    Hi fantastic job, good inspiration for me. Can I ask what type of spray gun you are using (HVLP, LVLP?) and what size tip? Cheers

    • @VintageRestorationsAustralia
      @VintageRestorationsAustralia  Před 2 lety

      I used a cheapo 1.5mm HVLP gravity fed running down at about 18/20 psi from memory. I am not a painter at all, but happy to have a go, there are loads of good spray painting channels that would be more appropriate for detailed info on painting a van I would think.
