    These are used during Diwali festival 😍😍 love them!! Everyone wondering whether it can be consumed, Yes! you can. We use it during Diwali festival for decoration but consumed later when the 5-day pooja is done. Used to carry a piece in pocket to school.     If they would let it cool just a tad before pouring it in then they wouldn't have air bubbles forming. Also if they would wash the sides of the pot with water with a brush the candy would not crystallize and have a solid structure and not fall apart easy! It's pretty but they need to do that!

      They are just sweet, no real "flavor". Have had several times at Hindi weddings; I keep them in clear plastic boxes with silica packets to keep dry.

    In South India, especially in parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu these are made for a festival called sankranthi or pongal , which is the festival of harvest. These candies usually used to be given to visiting guests during the festival.

    Very skilled Confectioners! They don't need a high tech kitchen and equipment for candy making. The Carvers who makes those mold are amazing Artisans.
