I like this video.. Nice looking Nova.. I own a 1974 Nova SS hatchback for 44yrs now.. My very first car and Its a matching numbers car.. Never thought I would have it all this time.. Its yellow with half black vinyl top and I have Cragers on it.. Cragers would look good on this Nova.. You can never go wrong with them.. But we all like different things...
Your Nova must be a sweet looking ride! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment... we really do appreciate it!
@@FNKClassicCars your very welcome! 🏁😊🏁
My uncle use to have a 74 4 door but it wasn’t in near that shape. Nice car
Thank you for checking it out!
Very cool nova
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed our tribute to our dearly missed friend Nick as well.
We watching for the ice cream store. My vote is round wheels!
Round is good!
I can't believe I missed this one too. Just popped up in my feed. I liked the 73-74' Nova's. Just stay away from the 73' 307 it only made 115net HP. Nice daily driver. 350/350 transmission was a good choice for this combo. Just enjoy it.
This one's a great driver
Thanks for the warm shout-out to our good friend Nick. That's also a really fun car. Thanks guys!
Thank you for taking the time to watch... means a lot!
It’s a very clean car! Well taken care of! Awesome sound!
G/day from Perth western Australia my baby is a VK holden Commodore v8 manual owned for 30yrs { cousin to your GM range ] very collectable in AUSSIE....
Howdy! Love Holden! Hope you can check out some of our other videos and can subscribe 😉
Thanks so much for the shout out!! You guys are too kind! Very nice 4 door! I'd go for some old rodlites ,
Can't wait to collaborate on a video or 2 with you!
Hey brother, Where you been? Hope you're doing OK. Cheer's JV
Nice car! Just had some corn on the cob with dinner. I think it would be cool if you could get Santa Claus in a future video. Nothing wrong with having 4 doors. Just make sure you close them before driving. I do recommend tires on the car. I think it is cool that people in Australia watch your video. I think you two should take the show "down under"! I would not recommend driving though. Like Ray Charles once sang "I've got Georgia on my mind". Keep up the great work!
We'll have to hit the mall this Christmas time and see if Santa is available for a cameo appearance!
Very cool Nova. Brings back some good old memories of my old Nova. I see that the top was painted black and not the original vinyl. Sharp looking car and sounds great. Watching from Inwood WV.
Previous owner said the roof was white when he had bought the car back in 06 but was faded. He decided to paint it black. We're assuming it was vinyl at one time as well. Thanks for tuning in!
I have one. 350 two barrel. Around 3800 original miles. Has a little penta been in the sun to long. Just drove it yesterday.
Are we reading that right? That's awesome!
Looks like a '74 Dart. 😆 Everyone would comment that I drove a sweet nova and I'd have to correct them. It felt good giving it back for a change.
Dart!?!? LoL! We need to find you a cool Mopar to cruise with us in for realz. 😃
I personally like 4 door cars like this Chevrolet Nova and Pontiac Ventura even though you weren’t talking about it but I like them in general with a small block V8 and 250 straight six cylinder engine with some modifications
Nothing wrong with a sedan! We own several different varieties of Chevy 4 door cars.
Very cool car!, There's nothing wrong with a 4 door, They make really good daily drivers, I've had several of them and I'm building one now. in my 50 years on this earth my favorite car was a 4 door 72 Dodge Dart, it's wasn't anything special but it was just a fun car. I bought it on the cheap when my kids were toddlers to just drive back and forth to work once in awhile and to have fun with the kids on the weekends going to cars and coffee's and then going on short road trips with the kids. I paid $800 for it and put another $300 in it putting a brand new Carb on it, Cleaning up the interior which was in GREAT shape, doing a good service on it changing ALL the fluids, new engine gaskets and cleaning up the paint on the car, IF you ever rebuilt a Mopar Carb you know why I ate the money and paid twice as much for a new carb instead of rebuilding the old one..... With the Economy in the sh!tter I'm seeing more and more Mid-late 70's classic 4 doors and wagons back on the road as daily drivers because it 's cheaper to find a unwanted 4 door on the extreme cheap and put a couple grand more into it and put it back on the road instead of buying new car after new car after new car and have an unending cycle of car payments that go higher and higher. I;m seeing more and more Bull and brick nose Ford trucks being built too because they are the last the cheap classic trucks.
And a lot of the younger guys getting into the old stuff nowadays grew up with only 4 door vehicles so they don't carry the same stigma. I'm about your age and rock a 57 Bel Air sedan and love the ol girl. Thanks for watching and commenting. Check out some of our other stuff when you get a chance. - Justin
@@FNKClassicCars Yep, also something I can testify to, There's more and more kids (20's somethings) that are buying classic 4 doors. One has a 4 door 77 Nova, One has a late 60's Thunderbird, not sure what the year is, There's another one that is wrenching on a mid 60's Fury.
@@FNKClassicCars And they are spending next to nothing on them, The kid that has the 77 Nova had a new Jetta that he sold right after he paid it off and took that money bought the Nova for like $1800 and then put another 6K in it. He did a good tune up, replaced all the fluids, did a clean-up on the suspension replacing the ball joints and shocks, painted the engine and engine bay, had the seats recovered, threw a cheap but decent paint job on it even changing the color from Blue to Silver, it was Blue with Blue interior but now it's Silver with blue interior and he found a cheap set of 70's Camaro rallye Wheels and just painted them silver as well. He's got 8K ish into it and it's going to run forever.
@@TheREALOC1972 Gotta love a budget build
@@FNKClassicCars Yep, 8 Grand may sound like alot all at once but he sat down and did the math, he spent roughly $1100 on his car a month when he was paying on his Jetta, owning a new car isn;t just making payments anymore, it's payment, full coverage insurance plus all the service checks and and all that's involved in owning a new car. He figured he spent the same on the Nova as he did in about 7 1/2-8 months on his jetta and after that it's all just maintenence that he could do on his own in his own driveway with a basic tool set. in a couple hours.
the johnny ligtning company is selling a 1974 pontiac gto. those miniature car toys with that same body style of the 1974 chevrolet nova just came out recently, in a very limited number special edition red color. I can't put the site on here, but it is easy to search for and purchase. they are selling for around fourteen dollars if you're interested. I know it isn't the car here but if you don't support purchasing that, they likely won't make a version of this car in the future. It is also the first time I have seen a respected car toy company making that year of body style.
74 GTO often doesn't get a lot of love for sure
@@FNKClassicCars probably because you don't see very much of them anymore. it is just forgotten. I understand it was originally because they didn't like the chevrolet nova style along with other reasons. However, I don't think that is the primary reason anymore.
Wow. Only seen 1 4-door 73/74 around 2000. We had a `74 2-door hatch, blue, black interior auto back in `85. It was a V-8 not sure if it was a 307 or 350 (I was only 6). It had 1 side exhaust on the right side. Seeing yours with 2 is interesting - and I know they had 2 as seen on the `73 Ventura 350 (same as a Nova basically) in the movie The Seven Ups from `73. So maybe only the 350 got the dual side exhausts. And the 307 just got the one on the right? The perpendicular to body, side exhaust is super rare to see today.
Not sure about the exhaust configurations back then with different engine combos. I suspect this car received a custom exhaust at some point prior to us getting it though. Being a 4 door with a nice exhaust note is cool as your not expecting it... lol! Thanks for watching... hope you subscribed!
@@FNKClassicCars Thanks for the comment. Turns out the 307 or 350 came with only 1 exhaust originally - but 2 may have been a SS thing - yours looks proper for a custom... very cool.
I liked the hatchback Nova's, it's funny that they only made it 3 years, 73, 73 and 79, they didn't make a hatchback in 75-78, which is weird because as a kid I remember how popular the hatchbacks were. I think they would have sold well in 75-78 if they had them. My best friend in high school had a 79 Hatchback.
@@TheREALOC1972 Interesting the hatchback was only avail. in `79 for the next bodystyle.
@@1984AP yep, it's crazy too, the 73 and 74 hatchbacks were wildily popular, Chevy only intended in making 50,000 in 73 and 74 but because they were so popular they made 91,000 in 73 and 76,000 in 74. You would think they would have kept making them...... But GM didn't make a whole lot of sense back then.
"true duals" would not have one single rear crossover muffler.
We're using the term with a little bit of flexibly... lol! Dual to the muffler and dual out of the muffler. Close enough 😉
The pavement is the sidewalk in England and the road is the tarmac!! Just to let you know that one nation is separated by the same language and other things such as a tomato and potato 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Tomaato Tomahto 🍅 😉
I have one. 350 two barrel. Around 3800 original miles. Has a little penta been in the sun to long. Just drove it yesterday.
Nothing wrong with a little patina!
